I agree last night my wife asked me are you watching the game tonight? My reply I have little interest in Senior AFL beyond Melbourne. Yesterday I went to see my granddaughter play in the GF of their basketball season. I am way more interested in them  than other AFL games.

PS sadly they lost and felt way more emotion at their loss than the MFC on Thursday night.

I am the opposite, in recent years I am watching more footy than ever.

Lol, people are completely ignoring/forgetting that Melbourne have only beaten us like twice in 7-8 years.

It’s like 6 times since 2015. They’ve won 8 in that period but we won’t worry about that.

If you take away the last 4 games 2021-2023 (LLLW)

From 2000 to 2020 we almost had a perfect palindrome of W-L over 20 years, I bolded the outlier

May not be the place to post this but do you think there AFL could have said and Luke Dunstan.

Scans have confirmed Jake Melksham and a Melbourne teammate have both suffered ACL injuries.

All they care about is clicks. It's a part of the strategy of writing headlines to covert. More clicks = More revenue.

Leaving the second part vague means more people will click the article to find out who it is (where most Dees fans would already know).

I hope it isn't an ACL and wish him well.  On the flip side I don't think having him and Fritsch in same forward line works.

Had 4 goals between them prior to their injuries. Looked like it was working to me off the small sample size.

Doesn't change the fact freo paid way overs, particularly given it might end up result in Darcy leaving, but not in their worst nightmares would have they expected to be giving up early first and second rounders.

At the time of the trade we all wanted more. It's only overs now because of their terrible season this year.
None of us forecasted that a top 10 pick would land in our laps this year.

    What??

So you genuinely think the coaching department prefer Spargo, Hibberd and Grundy as better fit then Chandler, Bowey and JVR?

    Nah, that's just laughable now.

Such a strange interpretation of our list. There’s spots we’re scrambling or unable to fill: tall winger, classy mid, key forward/back.

Grundy’s a great back up ruck but can’t seem to make us better alongside Max. Which forces us to use Petty forward.

Chandler has the edge on Spargo right now and has threatened to make himself a lock as Spargo did in 2021, but both hover in the 19-25th on a good list range.

I love the Pig but I doubt he has the tank for a flank these days, he’s fighting Tomlinson and Smith for the 3rd tall spot.

Brown and T Mc are shot.

If anything the list looks like it’s missing a quality top 5 pick (which it is), needs another ready to go tall so we can settle Petty and is missing some genuine pace. That’s just to get back to 2021.

How far we go this year won’t be determined by amazing depth. We’ll need to make the right calls and for fringe guys to hold up but we need stars and hidden stars like Petty to really stand up to cover some cracks.

Simon has said he has been experimenting with the forward line since the Fritsch and Oliver injuries, What we saw on the weekend was another experiment and to everyones joy a successful one. Which this mix has come around from all the players mentioned in my previous post being injured or out of form and coming out of the side. I wasn't saying those players should come all come in, we have large depth only 6 of our players have played every game this year.

It's obvious we are better with Max in this role and the current forward line mix had the best result all year and what we should persist with towards finals.

Not sure why you named Spargo, Hibberd and Grundy as significant outs.

    They're not even best 22.

Clarry and Fritsch are the only significant outs that we should worry about.

To win some big games without these two has been unreal.

I would say Goodwin would see it differently for best or ideal 22.
A fit and in form Spargo Hibberd and Grundy over Chandler, Bowey and JVR.
    Sparrow over Woewodin
Clarry over JJ and Fritsch for Melksham.

We are quite off our ideal 22, that's without considering Brown and Tmac.

What a brilliant list we have.

I’d love to know if it was a coaches call or Max’s call to take it out of the ruck because it was the match winning move.

Generally that will be Max making that decision mid contest, depending on how he's bodied his opponent and opened up the drop zone of the ball.
