Ok im so sick of this crap. One McLean and Bate will not be dropped its not bates fault the the forward line planning is pus In fact it is Josh Mahoney's fault. Two Sylvia yes he is a pain in the ass but he will not be dropped as we need to give him game time he is only 23 and yes he has wasted opportunities but when he comes good with some decent service and game plan it will be worth it. Just because we lost does not mean we need to swing the axe. Blokes like Bate and Sylvia look like they have no clue because the side either does not follow a game plan or there is no game plan for the forwards. McDonald and maybe Maric to come in that is it, Spencer struggled in the VFL yesterday so give him some more time there. Johnson is a back up ruckman at best but is very very agile and very skilful so he needs to be in the forward line. Not at CHF where Bailey is playing him but at FF where he can use his height and agility and take a grab. Kick the frigging thing straight into the forward line .. not to the pockets and we will all be surprised at how well we go with Johnson providing a contest and jetta and the like crumbing off him.

Meesen's game was very good he won the most hit outs on the ground. Beating Brogan and Lade which for a first game is an exceptional effort.

John Meesen really showed something, I am not sure what it is but I think people here pick a player and will hate him and bag him out no matter what he does. He in one game has been our most solid ruckman for the year. As for PJ I think that he is still bothered by that ankle he had in the pre season. He is normally a very agile and very skilful player for his size and I think he is playing under duress at the moment.

That is exactly right, our forwards have no idea where to lead or even to stay in the forward line. If they can start leading straight up at the ball then hence we get an easier shot at goal. However I do not think Ricky Petterd should be our number one go to man as he has been. Forwards are recruited to kick goals, not stand on the wing and get 15 posessions I do not care if they get a heap of the ball they are there to kick goals and that is why we are not winning.

I think he would kick maximum 15 as all the other forwards would be better options. He just does not know where to lead and so often gets spoiled as he is right on the boundary.

This is a silly thread. It doesn't matter if he played 22 games for geelong he is not strong enough to hold his ground, does not chase and cannot mark when there is pressure on him regardless of which team is putting it down his throat if you are not up to afl standard that's it and I do not think at the moment Newton is. He just looks disinterested all the time and his second efforts are non existant. Maybe I sound harsh but that is a frank assessment of Newton in my opinion and I dont think it would change if he was playing for another club.

You hit the nail on the head.. He is friggin retarted i think he runs around like a goose flailing his arms like a moron. Guys all this needs to settle down. We all know we are in a rebuilding stage at the club, so just because we have lost does not mean we have to go swinging the selection axe. How the hell are we supposed to get better without letting our kids learn the hard way and having a team play together as a group fir an extended period of time. There is no way we will bond and gel as a group if just because we lose everyone here starts calling for changes every single time we lose. We all knew thisyea rwe wouldnt win many games so give the team a chance to gel and have an idea of the best way to link up and work together.

This worries me also and I am surprised that we only took watts as a key forward in the draft. I think we overstocked on midfielders.

Good news

Guys. It was round one and we were beaten because our disposal was poor but stop blaming the midfielders. Our forwards were kick chasing all day there were so many times where we had it on the forward 50 or wing and looked up and not one player in our hot spot 20-25 out from goal. Forwards were lazy and this needs to be assessed before we make any improvement and hurt teams on the scoreboard. After all we kicked 67 points :angry: That is disgusting and the point of having forwards is to kick goals so why would they be kick chasing on the frigging wing. Lazy forwards is the case so stop blaming the midfield they did their best.

Davey. The laziest player on earth far out it was embarrassing. Rawlings (Pinnochio) was playing on him in our forward 50 and 7 times i watched davey look at rawlings, rawlings run off and davey just stand there like he didnt give a [censored]. It was horrendous.

Guys. If Dean Bailey was right about the whole pre season then we need to be debuting players that are ready such as cheney jetta and bennel, actually I was surprised that Bail didn't even make the squad I thought he showed something this pre season. All pre season it has been about youth so give them a go.
