  1. I wonder if there was any mention of potential fire walking ? ?
  2. So, your a 'small' fan then, RM ? Need some speed, some Celtic spirit.
  3. This is part of culture. We're building a winning culture, and that will take years to settle into solid club belief. MFCss, isn't just amongst the fans. The Hawks were vfl easy beats up until the 60's. Look what they managed to achieve Via getting some beaut tough hard headed coaches (Kanga Kennedy + Jeans), to develop discipline with vigor, and a club first approach. And now they have another in Clarkson, who has taken that club to become a more skill oriented club. But the basics come fist in culture building. Vigor, aggression first, to grow the believing, and then slowly bridge to be more skilled. Being skilled without the hardness, only allows clubs to bully the skilled soft side. We've been in that position before, and it does not work.
  4. Yes, but has lacked the consistency and level of effort. Brayshaw always has the highest level of effort, consistently. But he has to fix his ball use. Both of them do. Most of the team needs to fix their delivery. ?
  5. 22Yrs is about right, to begin filling out. Some smaller players might begin earlier?
  6. I think Jackson is the perfect foil (in theory) for Gawn, and one day, for Bradtke. When they mature enough. The mobile follower & the giraffe.
  7. I think maybe one of Petracca or Brayshaw could end up elsewhere, this time next year ? And I feel like a big name might climb on board ? We're due for a big name player. Crystal ball gazing.
  8. if you don't posses much class/skills. Then you just have to have masses of mongrel. Its a must. Preferably our players will have both of these assets built into them.
  9. Yes, but he now has to really earn his place, instead of getting games in developmental periods. Last year was his for the taking, but he had issues with injury. Now there is no rocks to hide behind. He has shown on a few occasions he has the stuff. But no gimmies, for any of our 4 yr + players. Weide's time is now, to be a strong contributor.
  10. Also, with his running endurance, he will most likely show our younger talls, how to train harder to match him.
  11. Its now time for expectations to rise on Weide's career, he's now 22+ years into his body. It's time for him to show some ability, and some aggression for the ball and contest. Having young Jackson and Brown will keep our young tall forwards honest trying to keep their places in the side. I think this is a good thing, to keep them all on their toes. I hope he does gets a guernsey for Rnd 1, just to shake up the ball-game a bit, amongst our young players. Make the kids nervous early on, to wake them up from any undeserved over confidence of their place in our team. We missed McDonalds run and marking, into the midfield last season, and Gawn as well could take more marks between centre and half-forward. This is where Pedo was really handy for us, with his run, aggressive marking, and smart play, getting back to the goal line & catching defenders out on many occasions.
  12. I agree totally DS. And am looking forward to Weide having to force his way into the team, in 2020. Its his time, to start to pull some decent weight in the team, now. Preuss has to get fitter, build the aerobic capacity. Lets hope he forces the selectors hands.
  13. This is exactly who I've been thinking about as a comparison, in relation to the talk of Jackson at 3. A taller version of JW, and hopefuly a harder unit. I'd like to see the curl, show some mongrel in his game.
  14. Maybe this is a sign that some tall forwards will be rotated between Casey and the D's. Playing those who deserve the spot on effort/results.
  15. I thought the Tiges might go for a young CHB type key tall. Harri Jones, or other? # Will Gould, I thought the Hawks took him. But no, they got Will Day?
  16. Should have put in a bid on Finn Mcginess, first. Just to keep the Hawks honest.
  17. I think we were worried about Port taking Pickett.
  18. If that were to eventuate, we'd probably get Young back the other way, after he's built a bit of a tank.
  19. There you go, that sounds like it. And when leaning forward, head down, often that's enough to pull the steering to far either way. Then bango.
