I really want to get over the QF incident but I’m finding it extremely difficult (which is silly), it’s affecting family footy watching and taking about footy. Serious post. Is anyone else feeling similar? Again, genuine post

Yes...because it was a violent act!

    For the McKercher fans

Speedy...didnt see him use the right foot....seemed to handball going left....may be predictable for defence...if you can catch him!

I’d imagine they’d look at him predominantly as a Casey player - a bit like Dunstan was. I actually like the strategy of putting 2 or 3 quality senior guys with good habits at Casey, to bring through our new recruits. It means that the young guns get a good role model on their line, to learn from, whilst keeping Casey strong.

    Spot on.

This is what I find galling about the whole thing.  He got off because no one in that tribunal hearing challenged his numerous lies.  First he said he did not travel forward while in the air, then he admitted he did, but only 1 - 2 metres.  He stated he felt the ball hit his hand, video evidence shows it went past his right elbow and missed it by about 5 inches. He stated he leapt from a standing position on both feet, video shows he was running full pelt and leapt from one foot from his running action.  The most galling is him saying Brayshaw changed direction before he kicked it.  This to me blows his whole "It was an attempted smother" argument - the tribunal accepted he was in the air before Brayshaw kicked the ball.  So if he wasn't expecting him to change direction, it can't be a smother, because he would be expecting the ball to go wide to his left.  It didn't, it went to the right of him.  Ergo, it was a charge, not a smother.

And they let him get away with it.

I was there....this is SPOT ON summation....it was a premeditated charge which Brayshaw tried to brush off.

I am happy with either trying to obtain pick #1 to draft Harley Reid or keeping our early round draft picks for other young talent.

It would be kinda funny if the Eagles chose the Demons over the Kangaroos in a "mega deal" just in spite. 🤣

    Quite entertaining all of this.

However, I would personally prefer we keep our options open as there is still lots of other extremely gifted young footballers we can draft.

    Such as....

    ● Zane Duursma

    ● Colby McKercher

    ● Ryley Sanders

    ● Nick Watson

    ● Nate Caddy

    ● Connor O'Sullivan

    ● Darcy Wilson

So lots of options and possibilities! 🤔

But time is now important.....we dont play draftees in their first year....the Roos rule

For the first time in my life, I am feeling the same. This when we are potentially just 2 games from a GF. I can no longer guarantee I will not get physical if experiences like the following are repeated.

I was sitting in the MCC members area, when shortly after the assault on Brayshaw, a Collingwood supporter behind me yelled 'just get him off the ground and get on with the game'. His obnoxiousness remained all game.

I'll spare you the antics of the drunken woman in front of us 'minding' her sisters toddlers.

It's getting hard to justify to myself the 5 hour round trip to see them at the G to experience that cr*p on a regular basis. I'm close to becoming just a TV viewer with the commentary off.  Even that may not last.

It's so depressing to think about it because I love the club and have been a MFC full member for 45 years.

63 years for me....feeling the same..travelling from SA every 2-3 weeks...rather watch the football without the sound...sickening eh!

I reckon they scored themselves free tickets for the game, Police unfortunately would have let them go unless Ryan got seriously injured.

Don't let this ruin your future plans, Adelaide Oval is great place to watch footy.

I've never seen a pack approach the Demon supporters behind the goals in my time watching games in Adelaide.

I'd just put it down as a unfortunately occurrence of mindless twats looking for trouble and non was found, hopefully the police did take their details down but not holding my breath.

Usually quite family friendly there...however Port were celbrating being competitive again...so quite a few [censored] newts around.

Kade Chandler stepped up in that third quarter when we needed a spark, great endeavour and fight to get us back into it.

Our intercept game started to come back in that second half too, our defensive structure certainly looked a lot better closing out the game (which i think is drastically aided by Max's inclusion).

Comes in to consideration down back a bit more if Salem is out, but I only really want him down back if Lever is out. Intercepting is what he does well down back, manning a zippy half forward opponent or fast ball use are certainly not strengths.

In general I’d have Gus as the 3rd winger and 4th or 5th on baller. He’ll be needed as a tall winger or tagger at times.

GUS is the ultimate "Utility" able to take on "gameday" roles from back line through the middle and up forward....name him on the bench as the " coaches erand boy"...?

One of the key reasons for slow ball movement, IMHO, was the move of James Jordon to the wing. He stifles ball movement. Takes far far too long to make a decision. I think it’s the nerves of being young and not a regular 22 player. Scared to make mistakes. Many times he got the ball on a wing and held play up, which resulted in killed momentum. Lachie Hunter may fix this issue. Just my take

    Agree

So noticed this pick didnt have a thread yet so here it is. and for free you also get a collection of players i hope we are looking at in that range. i'm of the belief we will go midfielder as best available at 13 (i want hollands, and ill take his homesick brother in 2 years time too thanks) so these are the guys i'd be talking to, i dont think we will take two generic shape/sized mid types as we've recruited plenty of those recently however we have tended to target talls/smalls either through unnatural pathways (SPP/MSD) or from other clubs unless they've been high end top prospects recently so its hard to tell the clubs thoughts but heres some names anyway

Isaac Keeler H: 198cm W: 88kg -- tall athletic KPF with NGA links to the crows. for me, so much more upside than say Cadman, why you ask because cadman is the biggest body playing against 18yo's only, keeler has shown flashes but has heaps of development, growth and muscle to come. they use the term x-factor when discussing him

James Van Es H: 197cm W: 99kg --tall defender, strong overhead, confident to mark the footy, will be ready in 3-4 years time to take over from may and be really aggressive in the air.

Lewis Hayes H: 197cm W: 81kg --tall defender, infamous for collapsing on the finish line of the 2ker at the combine but has upside and potential, could be a little passion project for the dev coaches

Lachie Cowan H: 188cm W: 81kg --slingshot rebounding defender, good height but beautiful kick out of tassie, great combination of speed and using it correctly and kicking

Josh Weddle H: 192cm W: 89kg --probably out of range here but players do slide, tested really well for speed and endurance, strong overhead, going to be a player as a rebounding intercepting defender

Darcy Jones: H: 175cm W: 67kg --small forward, super zippy, broke the agility record of 14yrs, small forward but like spargo is a strong midfielder at junior level and would play up the gorund, maybe even as a daniels type HB

Max Knobel H: 206cm W: 91kg OR Harry Barnett H: 202cm W:93kg --the two top ruck prospects, knobel has been growing and putting on weight all year, barnett won their duels during the year, project players

Anthony Munkara H: 186cm W:77kg --linked to essendons nga, he could be anything as a leaping third tall, raw but has serious talent and x factor and knows his way around goals, excites me

Keeler very much like Jackson and available to MFC < pick 40.
