  1. How did Clogs go? Named in the Best I see but no ones mentioned how he went. I still believe that he (and Yze) are in our best 22 but I can't see them getting back into the side with DB. Also noticed that PJ didn't get in the Best. Does that mean that people here believe he played better than he actually did or did he just get unnoticed by whoever was naming the best players? Nonetheless, it's great to hear that he dominated. Him and Jamar are both in good form - I don't think we've ever seen that before.
  2. Players I defend: Moloney - sometimes his foot skills let him down (Q1 vs Freo) but I nonetheless love the way he plays. He goes through the corridor, doesn't chip it around backwards or anything. He plays simple, direct footy. And he's a fantastic kick. Wheatley - virtually the same. Just wish they played him up at HF more often PJ - love his attitude. And he is a very good ruckman. And he's an excellent mark. Newton - cult hero. Need him back in the team. CJ - love the way he plays and reckon he has been unlucky with opportunities over the years. Just wish DB can find the right role for him. Players I don't (yet): Buckley - love the way he plays but he turns the ball over everytime he gets it. COuld be a superstar but atm I don't want him in the team until he gets his kicking sorted out. Jamar - as good as he was on the weekend, I won't forgive him for all those completely uselss games he's produced over the years. Robbo - STOP JUMPING ON PEOPLE'S HEADS (unless you actually do mark it, of course)
  3. At this rate our B+F is looking like: 1. Brad Green 2. Cameron Bruce Wouldn't trade both of them for Embley - a player past his prime
  4. http://video.msn.com/?mkt=en-au&brand=...sn&tab=m171 Good that the Dees are doing this. Was pleased to watch both this and Riv's video on MelbournefcTV. Didn't think Jonesy was that nervous. Sure, he wasn't great but he'll only get better. Bruceys never been that great but I think he still handles the media alright.
  5. I agree. Arguably when Neitz, White, Yze, TJ, Robbo and Brown were at their peak, we challenged the top 4. Atm, we don't have near the quality to match what we had. Bruce, Green, McDonald, etc. are decent players but not good enough to be the team's best. In 3-4 years time, the likes of McLean, Jones, Davey, Rivers, Moloney and Sylvia should all be at their peak, whilst our new draftees should be developing into really good players. We will challenge top 4 again then.
  6. Is it possible to trade Yze_Magic for pick 2? He seems to always get his name in the papers so thats some free publicity for whichever team picks him (or her) up... Wouldn't dare trade McLean or Jones.
  7. Nah, you can vote for him for Mark of the Year this round.
  8. We shouldn't be expecting great heights from Morton after just 3 senior games. Sure, from what we've seen he may be a star, but don't expect him to start dominating games for a few years. Don't worry about Brownlows at this stage, Morton hasn't even got a Rising Star nomination yet.. which I hope he'll pick up in the next few weeks (although I must admit there are plenty of worthy nominations out there)

    B.B.B.

I definitely agree with you. Bring him back NOW!
  10. I was happy with the ruck situation at the weekend - both White and Johnson shared the role, taking their 'breaks' playing as the CHF. Interesting to ntoe that 30% of Johnson's taps were effective, 10% more than White. I reckon PJ should be starting first ruck by mid-season at the latest
  11. McLean has had better days but was far from our worst. He was good enough in Round 1 to warrant keeping him. Bruce was good on Johnson I thought and should have stayed on him the whole game. White returned to form and was quite handy up forward. Play him up forward next week IMO. Miller was better than usual and was promising when up at CHF. Agree with Robbo. Get rid of him now. Although I do reckon he's an alright singer
  12. By the sounds of it, I think you are trying to say that my friend is a very unrealiable source. I will let you know for a fact that he is the same friend that told me Judd was coming to the Melbourne Demons, that ******* ********** was on drugs and that Mark Jamar is actually a superstar who is 'just pretending'. So there, proved you wrong.
  13. One of my mates watched an advanced screening of the Bulldogs game last night. I don't want to spoil it for you all, but Sylvia collects 32 possesions, 14 marks - 8 contested, 16 goals, 1 behind. However, Melbourne still lose by 104. Don't ask me. We have nothing to fear.
  14. Damn CAC, shame on him for not reading the future. He picked up the best young players there were for the taking. It is Neale Daniher and the coaching panels fault that these players did not fulfill their full potential. Look at players like Bruce, Green, TJ, Miller, etc. All these talented guys were at some stage in their early career considered potential superstars. But none of them took the next step. Would these guys have become stars had they played udner different coaches? We will never know, but you have to wonder how much of their lack of development is a result of Daniher. Look at it from a different perspective - currently we are all very excited at the young talent we have: Davey, Rivers, McLean, Jones, Dunn, Petterd, Newton, etc etc. But who knows - all these guys could turn out to be absolute duds come 2 years time (I sure hope not). Will that be the fault of CAC and our drafting people or of the coach? Drafting and recruiting are things that can only be looked at in hindight. It looks bad on paper, but who knows? If things went their way, Molan could have been the next Carey, Lamb could be the next Fletcher, Smith could have been the next I don't really know - what position was he meant to be in - ruck, key forward, key back?
  15. I just watched 2 videos on Melbournetv - an interview with Paul Williams today and an interview with Brent Moloney on Sunday. Williams said nothing about Moloney in regards to selection and avoided a question about Yze getting dropped. Moloney said he pulled up fine after the game, the groin didnt trouble him at all. He said he hoped to 22 games this season... Absolutely ridiculous decision to drop him.
  16. He played a fantastic tackle in about the first minute of the game last week but went pretty quite after that. Would like to see him persisted with, but can't help but wonder whether the team would be better off with having Holland as a key defender while Garland develops and matures in the VFL.
  17. You know you're getting desperate when you want Chris Lamb back
  18. Everytime he took a mark or got a free kick he wanted to play on straight away. Although he turned it over at least 2 or 3 times as a result of this, his idea was promising. When he got the ball in defence, we started moving and I actually became excited. His speed is very promising, I just hope his decision making can improve.
  19. I see that as a bit of a hierarchy system, where certain posters are respected more than others. Just because someone is a paid up member does not mean their opinion is more important or better than another person. This is a forum, not a monarchy. Also, I would imagine that there would be a few members of both forums who - for some reason or another - whether it be geographical, financial, etc. can't be a member.
  20. The funny thing is that Miller didn't even play that well in that game against Hall. If my memory serves me well, Hall still had about 5 scoring shots, but they were behinds or OOF. Hall had a bad day, and everyone gave Miller the credit. He belongs at CHF or as a lead up man, unless Bate plays - in that case he is all but useless.
  21. I would have to disagree - surely we don't need to commercialise another significant or holy day. The AFL makes enough money as it is.
  22. Thanks very much to the 214 Demonlandists that viewed my preview at Wordpress!
  23. Well, remember we did get the better McDonald, Davey (hopefully), and... Holland Furthermore: Simon Buckley > Nathan Brad Green > Kasey Nathan Jones > Brett, Chad, Clinton, Corey Paul and Chris Johnson > all 20 of them etc. etc.
  24. couldn't be happier! carlton may have judd, but they dont have a forward line, or a back line...
