Why do I get the feeling there will be a lynch mob at my door when all this falls through...
Lets just say i know were you live
-
Haha.
I don't know if Deetastic wants to share it with you and others, thats his choice (sensitive information, you see).
Let's just say that, if he's right(and he has good reason to believe he is), these media flogs are all going to lose their money at the TAB. Judd is very close to us. Not signed, not sealed, and certainly not delivered. But very close.
Diablo you've said enuf for me with out saying anything at all
-
What is the most you would give for Judd? (2 player and 3 draft pick max)
-
Let's consider a few things here. West Coast is a club that adored Chris Judd. He's said publically how much he will miss certain players, and how often do you hear a parting player say 5-6 players names he will miss when they are leaving a club? It's normal 1 or 2.
Also, he was god in Perth. Literally god. I'm sure he knows how much this has affected the people of Perth, the WC fans and the WC as a club.
Now, let's take into consideration all of this. Is Judd really going to choose a club that has nothing the Eagles need or want in return? While I know the decision is up to Judd, I believe he will liason with the Eagles and determine which club has the necessary players and picks to fulfil a trade that would make-up for their loss of Judd. I've thought about this over the last couple of hours and now I can see how Carlton may actually be a better suitor than Collingwood.
Let's face it, WC are going to want either 2 top 10 picks, 1 top 10 pick and a high-calibre player or a top 10, top 20 and perhaps 2 young up-and-comers. Either way, they are going to want a top 10 draft pick out of this.
I don't think he is going to pick Collingwood based on what they can offer in the draft. I also don't think he will choose them and hope they can trade up in the draft. To be honest, Collingwood look to lose more than any other club if they want to obtain Judd. If he does choose them, he is practically screwing over the Eagles because I can't see the pies trading two-three high calibre players such as Didak, Davis and Cloke or Peddlebree straight up which is what the Eagles will want if the Pies can't get their hands on a top 10.
Thats exactly it, he has also said he wants to win a premiership in the future, he is an intelligent man and knows if he goes to essendon he will cripple there future (no pick 6 ryder and/or Gumpleton), and everyone know carlton arent going to be up there for another 2-3 years. This leaves one team Melbourne....... i hope

Judd has said that he still loves the eagles, but just wants to come home to melbourne, perhaps this means what the eagles want will come into some contention when he decides on a club.
-
I wouldnt go near Maguire
He is overrated, and he is never on the park anyway
No thanks
He was pretty consistant and relatively injury free until he broke his leg in 06
I agree with Bruce Almighty if we got goose instead of Mcgregor, then that team of 2008 of your YZE_Magic would absolutely chop
-
Goose would be a great pickup but i would imagine the saints would be hanging on to him as tightly as they can, though with the two nicks just signing new contracts this season, there wouldnt be much room left in their salary cap so there is a chance
-
they are desperate for a medium sized forward Brad Green would be ideal for them he can play anywhere and give them a target when the thug Lynch fails I am sure they jump at a deal with Brad Green our first draft pick and Chris Johnson who is ideal replacement for Chick and our third round pick (If you remember they and Dockers tried to have the father son rule changed as they wanted Chris I still beleive he is a player )
In return we would get Judd and their 3rd round pick and Jaymie Graham who wants out and fourth round pick .
Good post issarab
I know a lot of people wont agree with me judging by what i have read on this site, but of Bruce, Green and TJ i see green as the most expendable. Bruce in form is a serious brownlow chance as is TJ. If we manage to get juddy with a trade we will have real blue chip midfield evovlving the likes of jones, mclean, judd, bruce, TJ, Junior, hopefully sylvia, Moloney and bartram (could be small backman). Compare this to Geelongs Bartel, Ablett, Corey, Enright, kelly, selwood and ling. With improvement from sylvia, mclean and jones and th others playing as well as we know they can i dont think were far off geelong.
-
I agree and reckon that Paul Chapman was a bit stiff not to have made it 10. I'd love to have him in our team. He knows where the goals are and always passes the ball with precision.
Totally agree, would love to have chapman he is a gun, always keeps his feet and is very reliable
-
Hope Judd names one club as his prefferred destination instead of 2-3 so that we are not pushed into a bidding war. If he nominates melbourne as he preffered club most of the cards are in our hands and we hopefully wont have to trade the likes of jones, davey and mclean for his signature.
-
Yes definantly
-
Pretty much confirms what I have thought all year
That the 2007 AFL season will go down as the most boring and weakest season of the modern era
How overrated are the Geelong goons? 9 players? Fair dinkum
How many players did Essendon have in the AA team in the 2000 season?
They will be sitting back wondering what is going on, and I dont blame them
essendon only had four players from memory and where more dominant then geelong where this year, bigger percentage and lost less games.
-
Haha. Well I would be. But the Bulldogs are sniffing around Robbo. I'm sure we could come to some kind of arrangement that would see their pick 5 coming our way. In any case, pick 5 is basically a last-ditch, kitchen sink sort of effort. Ideally it won't come to that, but the option may well be there.
As much as i'd hate to lose robbo it would be great to get judd using pick 4 and still have a top 5 draft pick
-
yeah..only two Rucks.. Must be tough with Cox and Seaby with Lynch filling in.. poor bastards !!!
i live in the west, and even the WCE supporters reckon lynch is a hack, i know one of his teachers from his highschool and talked to him briefly myself and can safely say he has an iq on par with forest gump. The only reson he quicks goals is that he is constantly spoon fed by the weagles dominant midfield.
-
With Hansen in and out of the side with injuries, and lynch in there only coz they haven't got any1 better, i think they still need a quality forward. Although lecra is starting to step up
-
If we do get Judd imagine how much better mclean and trapper will be without copping the oppositions best tagger
-
Juddys been thinking about this move since the start of the year imo, he has also said that he wants to go to the club that he feels has a chance to be sucessful in the future. Bails has to show him with our crop of upcomiing youngsters that the future at melbourne is bright, that coinciding with the fact he used to barrack for us may just be enough.
-
Hypothetically speaking if judd said he wanted to be traded to the dees and only the dees, could he tell the west coast that if they do not agree with melbournes offer that he will go into the PSD
i am assumeing that he can refuse offers from other clubs ie carlton collingwood as he is out of contact
-
1. Aaron Davey to Adelaide for Nathan Bock
2. Brad Miller + 2nd rounder for Cameron Wood
3. Travis Johnstone to Western Bulldogs for a 2nd round pick
first 2 are good, but i think you are severely underestimating the value of johnstone, he would get a first round pick without dout
i'd hate to lose davey two put picking up bock would be awesome
-
Would be funny if we landed Ray in the RObertson trade
That would give us 3 of the top 5 picks in the 2003 draft
1. Adam Cooney
2. Andrew Walker
3. Colin Sylvia
4. Farren Ray
5. Brock McLean
i thought the exact same thing when i saw your team for 2008
-
you are probably right about ray i'll concede that but do you see the others as viable options
-
meant are WCE supporters
-
i live in perth and alot of my mates or WCE supporters and while they are unhappy to see judd go, they reckon pick 4 and one of robertson, ray, bruce, johnstone, davey for judd is a fair deal
-
Why west coast said they want an early draft pick and a quality player
our chances with judd?
in Melbourne Demons

Your probably and i hope are right, he's an honorable bloke and as you said just needs to rationalise the decision to himself
