Really like the look of Tom Gross. Some have compared him to Rory Sloane.

Jessie Dattoli is another that's worth keeping an eye on from Northern Knights as well Stingrays pair Harvey Langford and Cooper Hynes. Josh Murphy from the Bushies showed a bit in the brief time I've seen him play.

i've known jesse since he was about 12 years old, he's a weapon, seriously profesisonal and will get absolutely everything out of himself, as good as a trainer as there is out there and excellent on both sides of his body

So at the moment to stay the same 36 senior list we only have 1 selection to be used in the draft.   With 2 round one picks it would make sense as you suggested to move Melksham to the rookie list.   We would then use two picks 6 and 11. (Melbourne: 6, 11, 42, 93

That means 42 is wasted as we don't have room to pick Brown as a father son.

My question is can we use the rookie draft for a father/son selection getting the same priority?

Of course we still have the option of delisting more players prior to the draft.

sort of, if he gets bid on in ND we lose him but if he gets through unbidded he automatically becomes a rookie without any consequence

  4. i've been the biggest lobb hater since his giants days, he was always a better ruckman than forward but ego/sooking from his part made him a forward.

if he came on the remaining 2yr deal he has but WBD subsidised i'd do it. you're offering something like pick 40, hear me out, hes the ruck/forward behind gawn who can play a role but isnt a total liability forward, he leaps and marks in packs (sometimes) but also at EOS 24, mcdonald brown schache all ooc all leave, so then lobb is extra important for the next 12-24 months after that as that squad depth reserve player assuming we either see jeffo come on and play or sign a big dog FF from elsewhere to take over the mantle (or a KPD to allow petty to stay fwd)

I see a report Chris Burgess from GC has requested a trade to Adelaide....

supposedly to play key back with doedee leaving and murray off a knee, plus dragon himmelberg out the door, no idea how burgess goes as a back but fogarty walker and thilthorpe would still be ahead of him

Pendles and Sidebottom will drop off soon I hope. Mitchell’s had a couple of important finals but is really close to being ineffective, just does enough of what he’s good at in tight. They’ve got some concerns. And their young mids haven’t been good so far, although I remain very high on Ed Allan.

tay adams being injured was one of the great blessing in disguise outcomes for the pies. he and mitchell didn't both fit in as they play the same role with the same strengths weaknesses and lack of leg speed

sparrow needs to be a lot more of a workhorse thru midfield to feature in our top 10 i'd wager

nibbler i think is a chance, but i can't see sparrow getting a spot in our top 10 ahead of may, petracca, viney, lever, brayshaw, gawn, oliver, hunter, rivers, or pickett

pickett will be so far outside our top 10 itll be alarming imo he had a pretty sub par season. and i wouldn't have hunter or oliver near it either for form and games missed reasons respectively

  8. when tex was 31 he kicked 14 goals in 15 games and was absolutely clawing onto that next 1yr deal and the footy world thought he was gonna roll the legs over one more time and then dip... he didn't and this year he kicked 70g and was an AA could either of these two possibly do that next year?

Nice to see an actual rumour.

Anyone follow WCE enough to know what we are looking at?

either would be a genuine backup, casey unless gawn went down, even then when they had 27 fit players jamieson wasn't an emergency, so does he have scope to improve? BJ Williams is at least young enough where he could do a preuss and move on again in 2-3 years but honestly when you're as talented as he is and you're a sides no.1 ruck why would you leave, even if flynn comes in he's garaunteed a game at wce next year

Hahaha...that's a lot harder mate. I (like many others) could suggest 20 or more names currently on lists but have no clue on their contractual status', expectations and interest. Not sure how much that helps. Perhaps we go aphabetically, I'll start with A

    A; Amartey, Joel (Sydney)

    p.s. jesting only...

Interesting... My present thoughts on TMac and BBB staying for another year are that I'm ambivalent simply because we have so many others leaving thus freeing up spots. Are we better off with them leaving allowing us to plunder the lower levels of the draft and trying to find a diamond. (In saying this I'm assuming injuries and form will preclude both from senior selection in 2024)

Pity you have to give all draftees 2 years as a one year option for lower level choices might actually encourage clubs to give the outliers a chance. Sure we have the mid year rookie draft but not sure that it's the answer as increasingly those players within the elite full time training universe offered by AFL improve at a different rate.

We won a flag with Mitch Brown and Majak on the list, everyone knew what their roles were and no one batted an eye lid. at the same age BBB and TMac will be playing the same roles however because of their successes and careers to date they are being valued and critiqued harder

Shiel to StK for cap space

makes sense for both parties, i've heard tay adams rumours too not to stk specifically but outta pies. they can't fit him and titchell in the same side and one of them has the softest hammies in te business

  13. we're discussing a bloke whos given 15yrs of service to one club who doesn't want to play 2s football and everyones suggesting we bring him in to play 2s. if he wanted to do that he'd just stay at norf???

if theres any ruckman who's going to leave their club it'd be soldo as i cant see ooze playing 2 rucks ever after the shambles he's witness unfold at MFC

hard to read into that team. Finn emile-brennan made it last year and didn't get a look in and many players have made it or even All aus and not been drafted

Lachlan Gallant; cant get a look in at the Crows but seems to have the attributes to be a reasonable key forward. He is also a beautiful kick.

been earmarked as their mcadam replacement, more a fritsch than a roo. or a schache not a BBB. if those comparisons make sense?

5-8 disposals but 2-3 scoring shots type of hit up forward, like a sam sturt at freo
