Jefferson has been marking well. Some up the ground, looks like his game is improving.
-
I heard the other commentator (Oliver Walker-Peel) call her (Joe, J, Gee) Bastiani.
-
GWS came out strongly in the 3rd, we get a goal against the flow and from a backline effort, Schache goals. GWS has lost that domination, though still trying. 69 to 26
-
Woey has started the 2nd half on the ball.
-
He has been on the wing, though pushing up into the half forward area. A little quiet at times, has quality and composure. I also think he has 3 goals up to half-time.
-
Laurie turnsover in the backline, leaving an entry and goal for GWS. Follows up from the centre bounce, with getting the ball, linking to JJ, then JVR who marks in the goal square. 57 to 17
-
Taking our opportunities in this quarter, JVR, AMW, Woewodin. More players getting involved, Dunstan, Laurie, Freeman. Backline still holding up when GWS are trying hard to get back in the game. Casey 50 to GWS 11
-
1st quarter, Casey 3.7. 25 to GWS 1.3. 9 JJ best on ground, lovely running patterns that make time and space. Howes and Turner managing the backline well. Verrall making his presence felt. JVR in and out of the game.
-
Dominating the first 10 minutes. Plenty of forward entries. Driving well off the backline, when GWS go forward. Howes great runs for the handball gets. Munro is even taking umpires out (accidental collision).

Farris needs to bulk up and be a little cleaner with the ball. Verrall, needs more time. They have been using him as a forward at the last couple of trainings I was at. Moves well for his size,

No, I mean 4 to 5 days since they played a game, making it 9 to 10 days between games. It appeared to be, extra intensity on the Monday during the longer breaks.
-
Oh, bad luck. Have they headed to NT already, or perhaps tomorrow at Casey.
-
Cannot confirm, though they have regularly been down at Casey for the main training this season. My guess would be, train at Casey on Wednesday, fly to Alice Thursday, community events Friday, Saturday, captain's run on Traiger oval, and play Sunday.

I've really only been able to see the Monday review training sessions this year. Lately they have been doing an extra 30 minutes on a Monday, but that is due to the fact that they have had a 4 or 5 day break from the last game. I would assume the "loading" is done in the gym, because the training session I've observed don't usually go longer, and the running sessions don't seem to be more extensive. Trainings seem to be about processes and skills. Even during preseason, they were doing a lot more ball work, than other years. If they are pushing players, I'd imagine they would absolutely need individual programs, so as to optimise the work. Training is usually a group/team program. With loading, they need closer analysis, with specific cardiovascular parameters, which is better suited to a gym. The rehabbers have specific field programs they need to tick off. It is usually done with a one on one, trainer and trainee assistance. I assume if the entire squad is loading then there is not enough trainers to assist. Again, the only place where many can be monitored and do specific programs, is a gym. If they are loading it would be happening out of sight, I reckon.

I just didn't see that at the training. Clarry was moving as well as anybody out there, until the end when he had a little bit of a limp. (Pulling up sore) Given his ability, I would have him play even if a bit unfit/underdone. He would find match fitness by being played, very quickly. Though, if the scans are showing a "hot spot", then get him right
-
Clarry did the sprints and laps, as well as all the drills. He is also looking fit enough. I am guessing, he is sore after a heavier workload. I think he has been poorly managed. They shouldn't have let him run so soon after the injury. He possibly hasn't had to deal with complex soft tissue stuff, and said to himself, "I will push through it".
-
Clarry was running well and hard most of the session. He must have pulled up sore. He had a hint of a kind of limp, and felt for the area high on his thigh at the end of his run.
-
Viney was at training today. Tough Kent (thank you), watched some of his work. Sorry about the confusion.
-
Addit: I can’t remember seeing Viney. Hope I'm wrong, but!
-
No obvious signs of loading, when running they were not being pushed too hard or long. The session seemed to be more about clearance at stoppages, and goal kicking.
-
BBB was training well within the group, did everything. He previously had his own program. My guess, Petty would be primarily back, though will be used as a swing man.

Because of the rotations through the stations, they all had a chance to hit "it". The forward set up remained the same for both sets of groups.
-
Clarry and Bowey last out the track having a kick to kick. Appears to be carrying his leg a little (Clarry), though lots of them have the funny kind of gait. Petty was hanging out with the backline men.

There were 6 players, 3 on 3. At first the delivery was over the back, then they did lateral leads and finished with straight leads. Perhaps the two balls coming in was meant to create repeated movements. Most of the things they do on the track appear to have some purpose.
