  1. Very, very sad, been hoping and praying for a better outcome. Rest in peace Phil. I'm sure Cricket Australia would have preferred not to have knocked the AFL off the front page on draft night.
  2. I'm hardly a source of information either, but I was told at about the same time as the above post, very reliably, that Mc Cartney will be announced on Monday as our dev coach. it was from his work with Goodwin at essendon, that made him decide to come to the dees- he really rates him. Hird wanted him, but was rejected them for obvious reasons.
  3. "One more thing, Demonland deteriorates when its members start bickering" Could not agree more GNF, a complete turnoff, we are all on the same side for God's sake BTW thanks for the goss- fascinating
  4. Yes, I agree.another year of watching us hopelessly uncompetitive is unpalatable to everyone, players, coaches, us the supporters, and the afl in general. While we wait for the 18year olds to get 50 games into them, we lose supporters, members, sponsors, hope. We can't wait, we have to improve significantly now. This is the way to operate in this new landscape, not saying it's good, but it's the pragmatic decision that has to be made. Gusty move, well done dees
  5. JT has failed his medical, re injured his foot, same thing. Poor Jack. He stays a dee, but back to rehab
  6. Sounds like it was a Sounds like it was a completely baseless rumour, no surprise
  7. Keep listening KBs going to talk to whoever from trade central
  8. Wow, just heard the same thing, GWS ahve said he's not going anywhere. This is turning into a free for all.
  9. Working from home today, (and just tuned into sen for a minute or two...) Just reported dees involved in a trade that would net them Jeremy Cameron and Dylan shiel!!!
  10. Great song jack! (Well maybe not great, but not bad at all)
  11. Like so many here, my siblings and I grew up watching and marveling at Robbie Flower, our shining light in regular weekly losses. After reading the article this morning, I decided to take the afternoon off work and pay my respects to him at the G on Monday afternoon. See you there.
  12. AFL moves to block Paddy Ryder deal between Port Adelaide, Essendon
  13. Yes, my thoughts exactly, we will not be the only ones, unimpressed
  14. Can't help but compare to another so called club legend over at the bombers (giving his club 2 years of damaging headlines and incapable of thinking beyond his own narcissistic interests). Robbie's integrity, loyalty and class shine. It is beyond fair that we lose Robbie.
  15. Worst fears confirmed. My childhood footy memories are of this man. And a true lifelong demon. Modest, genuine, a real champion. I feel really sad. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to this wonderful man's family and close friends
  16. No announcement who it is yet, according to family's wishes. But saying a Melbourne legend of the 70s. I feel sick.
  17. Have Read the pros and cons, but on balance I think it could be a massive pr winner, The g would truly be our home ground, and new supporters and possibly players could be attracted to that idea. Also, Eddie would hate it.
  18. I think he's deteriorating after essendon was ridiculed in the federal court a week or so ago. On the grog.
  19. Plays golf with my dad, still a true and committed demon
  20. Why does a footy coach need business training? Preparing for life after coaching, which maybe he realises is imminent. Hird really has this club's board twisted around his little finger. Weren't they saying he was going to be working very hard planning for season 2015? Can't imagine there's much afl resources in San Fran
  21. Correct, and if the players start leaving, there will be possibly be a case for afl assistance in coming years, time to start mending fences
