A player with the ball in the act of kicking forward should expect not to have a 90 kg airborne missile projecting front on to his head.

Whatever happens can we just START FAST AND HUNGRY?
Show us 0-3 in the last 3 finals burns.
Like, actually burns. Enough to come out breathing fire from the FIRST SECOND until the LAST SECOND, and bury these cheating [censored].
We can’t go down 0-4 and 2 straight sets against the blues. We just can’t.
I have to quote this post because it’s not possibly to “like” it 1000 times

Goodwin has been criticised by various in the media for the lack of strategy in game, to fix the entry inside 50.
what’s your opinion, was it a coaching failure or lack of player execution?

Confident the MRO will send it to the tribunal, he’ll cop a 3 week suspension by the tribunal and then the Pies will get him off on appeal.
Nothing surer.
Meanwhile we’re a key midfielder down next week.
100%
Nothing more certain.
Maynard will be free to play

I plan on being so loud on Thursday. I'm normally pretty reserved but we have to be LOUD.

Can’t see it happening but Hibbo could replace Salem.
I would feel safer with Hibbo in the side. Elliot worries me and McVee has never played on him before. Not saying he can’t do the job but Elliot is an extremely smart and strong player. He’s hurt us before and he’s exactly the sort of player who can turn a game in the blink of an eye.Hibbo might be the man

Yeah, I didn't like how that was written. He played all the roles Longmuir outlined for him when with us and tbh I've not seen much different in his time at Freo, except that he replaced Darcy for an extended time.
It plays down that he just wanted to go home.
Anyway he is gone. We move on and with a bit of luck we will be this year's premiers and he won't be!!
Exactly, in the end he just wanted to be home. Longmuir could have said anything and he would have gone. Having said that, he is obviously very close to his family so he did what’s best for his wellbeing.
As long as we win 2 more flags before he wins one with freo, I’ll continue to wish him well

Full MCC and MFC member
So hard to get a damn level 1 seat, every year it’s near impossible, missed out now
vs Geelong 2018
vs hawks 2018
vs swans 2022
vs pies 2023
I was lucky enough to get a Ticket for the 2022 GF in the MCC ballot which I passed in after we got knocked out.
Yep me too. We are the level 4 experts.

Poor milkshake, so sorry this has happened. He’s held our forward line together this season

The Doggie implosion has blown-up an in-principal deal with WCE for us to get Reid. Lyon has been involved at a personal level.
The final decision whether to exercise the deal, by both WCE and MFC had yet to be made. Plenty of water still to go under the bridge between now and November. Nevertheless, we have been actively pursuing Reid as an option on how to spend our draft bonanza. It would seem we are still keen to have this option with NM, but considering everything our chances are now weak.

A good win against a team that has improved markedly over the season. Mitchell is an outstanding young coach. Hawthorn have some excellent players and as maddening as it is, they will become a very good team quite quickly. We did what we needed to do. Our defence, in particular Lever, Rivers and McVee were outstanding. No great influence from Petracca and Oliver and nothing at all from Pickett only enhances the win. I wish Goodwin had let the Maginess question go through to the keeper. His response was churlish. The game has a place for everyone and taggers have been around for a long time. Oliver was beaten, accept it and be better next time. Nicks' presser last night was the template for class under pressure.
Churlish perhaps, but satisfying all the same

Haven’t read earlier posts so probably repeating, but… we should be reasonably sure of getting the pies in the first week of finals

So now they have Wardlaw, Sheezel and Reid. Hell that’s going to get them a premiership surely?

Underwood's voice, regardless of chromosomal makeup, is like fingernails on a blackboard and I for one just cannot listen. Also her obviously pre rehearsed attempts at humour are very "dad like".
Ok, showing all your cards with that post

Meanwhile this is a thrashing
and one more thing McQueen, I just think she gets a lot of vitriol on here for what? Having an annoying voice?

Fair enough, but there’s alternatives

You blokes seriously aren’t comparing Kelli Underwood with BT?
you might not like the idea of a woman commentating afl,, but she is far superior in knowledge and appreciation of the modern game than the bloated dinosaur BT

BT is an embarrassment. Always gets the most animated over fisticuffs, and clearly you can add a topless player to the list. 🙄
That was funny though

Reality we face is that the weekend is a must win to cement top 4.
If we lose and Carlton win, then odds suddenly shift in Carlton's favour with them facing GWS at Marvel.
Bet your house that Mitchell will get the Hawks up for this to severely dent our season. They will throw everything at us. They are primed to end the season well.
An absolute must win against Hawthorn. We have to close it out.
I know, I feel sick already

My twitter thread is filled with Carlton fans posting videos of their best plays, Viney 'flopping' when hit by TDK (mate, he would eat any Carlton player for breakfast including Cripps, get in a ring and find out) and Trac 'throwing it' in the lead up to the ANB goal. After getting berated on my way out of the ground and being told to move for apparently occupying an empty row some 18 year Olds reserved for their legs, they are absolutely a special breed this mob, rapidly becoming my most disliked team despite my begrudging respect for their style of play. Their supporters don't deserve the team they've got.
Haven't seen a single one of them win with any semblance of grace or even acknowledge the quality of the game or opposition.
Someone make it stop
They’ve been like for ever. The most arrogant, insufferable supporters in the afl

You are joking if you think Carlton can sustain this into the finals and win it from 5th. This game was their final. Wouldn’t surprise me they were to lose to Gold Coast next week
I sincerely hope you’re right

Despite my self imposed media ban, I heard a bit of crunchtime in the car this morning - All out criticism of the Dee’s forward movement - personnel, strategy and recruitment all got a serve.
They have written us off , while simultaneously championing the purity of the football act by Maynard, him having no case to answer (incredulously, I’ve heard several times, Brayshaw didn’t help himself to avoid impact).
We will go through the week with hype continuing to build for Carlton.
I don’t mind it.
