Why do you think l am bagging him? Read my post properly. PF......I am calling him the surprise packet if he doesn't perform.

Read my posts on Clarry I rate him as our best player.  Put your glasses on    P F.       FFS.

Well that is an interesting thought given hIs instinct before any other when he is in possession of the pill  is to handball.

Clarry really is the barometer needs to bring his 2018 form with a bit of ex factor.  The only S P he will  be is if he doesn't  perform.

  3. S P   J  Harmes  just to prove that  Goody made another blunder. Consistent game time in the middle and he will pay dividends.

Tom Sparrow could be an  S P i think he felt  comfortable at the top level and handled the pressure well.

I just hope there aren't any whipping boys but unfortunately it cannot be helped Goody will see to that.

  4. Great for most MFC members to be at our first home game of the season  against Fremantle . Hoping there is no major concern for any major outbreaks of the COVID 19 which could ease more restrictions.

Be there or be square to  watch the Dees  dismantle Fremantle and to cheer with a beer .

  5. Congrats to Tom McDonald for being awarded life membership of our great club and a loyal clubman.

170 games  mostly solid football and hoping that you  are injury free and ready to produce some of your best football in 2021 and beyond. Well done Tommy.

Nothing and I say again absolutely nothing can top this game for me!!???

ANNNND the after match party at MINOOTZ RESTAURENT in Collingwood I think was a particularly great night! Players, Wives, Coaches hangers on and associated hangers on partied on in what still remains for me a pivotal moment in time!!

Not sure if this restaurent is still around!!?

We got side tracked by our own party PF.     Minootz that rings a bell  Smith st Collingwood.

For some reason my all time favorite final is the win against Carlton in the 2000 final series, what a game and Malcolm Blights one sided commentary still rankles me. Green and Bruce played crucial cameo's in a solid team win, I can still remember that we were all jumping up and down as the scoreboard chopped and changed in that last quarter...Phew, I was exhausted.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the bounce of the ball in the centre it went slightly angling towards Jeff White and Malcoim Blight, oh  the opposition ruckman unfairly disadvantaged saying did you see the bounce. Spare me Malcolm ! Never ever had a good word for the Dees.

Honestly i am not even exaggerating. He was a Whinger.

  8. My condolences to you Sam and your loved ones. Our thought are with you.

Captained the 1958 Magpie Premiership team against the Dees . However he will be looking down on Sam and supporting him playing for the enemy with a grin.   RIP.

  9. What beats the Melbourne V Bulldogs at the Western Oval when we needed to beat them and Hawthorn needed to beat Geelong for us to make the finals for the first time in 23 years. It was the final round.

With 2 mins to go in our game and holding The Dogs just about every Dees supporter at the ground was glue and listening to the radios as the siren went at Kardinia p[ark and Hawthorn hung on to a 3 point win coming from behind thanks to Dunstall's winning goal.

The Dees supporters at the ground all went ballistic while our game was still in progress it felt by the players of both clubs had stopped and thinking the siren had gone. However the Melbourne boys would have worked it out quickly l believe.

Brings a tear to my eye, 1987.  They did it for Robbie,

  10. Sign up Max and l believe that Oliver will stay and sign well possibly between rounds 5 and 11 just a hunch that is my gut feel.

As for the Trac he is signed till the end of 2022,.

Max is a Melbourne boy no doubt and l think that Clayton is along the same lines l am confident of that  I wouldn't say it if l wasn't confident. However  it will be a big sigh of relief when Clayton signs on the dotted line.

Just need a good start to the season .

These are good ideas .. where A leads to B, leads to C. Provides manning up by the opposition and hopefully, also provides an abundance of opportunities for our smaller fleet.

It doesn't mean every now and again that Max can't be rested. He has been rested up forward many times.

Max is a genuine  tap ruckman  and has the all round craft  that is his best position and is possibly the best at his trade.

3 x AA that says it all.

With Daw a likely starter at the Dees we can use him in tandem with Jackson freeing Max to play a forward role.

The captain would be a target who'd require a lot of attention from oppo key backs and provide chances for our smaller players.

We can do without him at the centre bounce in particular.

You seem like a nice fella l am sure you mean good somehow it is not a good idea EG 64.

We need our captain at the centre bounce and around the ground' IN PARTICULAR !

  13. Three tall forwards  stick with the structure  and wait for BBB and Weid to  be back from injury.  Trac is a power Mid then a forward when resting . We have a good mix of talls mediums and smalls now.

Tracs goals have mostly come from when he is playing a mid role. His goals are almost kicked on the run or marked outside the 50 metre arc.

Tmac , Jackson, M Brown    For round 1 unless BBB makes a miracle  return.

  14. Viney and Gus on the training track great news at least they are hopefully preparing to play come round 1 of the season proper.

Daw is looking in good shape and might be ready to show case his skills in the preseason games.

Great photos and good to see  the boys up and about.

While it sounds a lot less silly than 6 months ago I'd still think it's not quite worth the punt. The point is though we are probably going to need cover at some point.

I would like to have him on the list after all he was taken at No1. However he is risky and a risk on himself. The head is delicate and having concussion several times and being knocked out is not a place for him on a footy ground. The effects are there for reminder and the risk is high.

He can play local football and the risk is still there and no different.  A collision is a collision and a high contact could and possibly  have ramifications.  No ! life is precious  and his health is more important.

I'd take a glass of milk as long as its served out of a MFC purpose-built complex with exceptional club house facilities no soup.?

Bartlett and the board would be under pressure to perform. However hope to find out more at the AGM come Monday.

Oldest professional sporting club in the world and we still don't have a home of our own.

Where fellow dees can come and have a feed, beer and watch their team train.

    f me.

We did have a training ground at the junction oval in St Kilda for a number of years in  the mid 80s into the early 90s and the worst facilities. Shared with St Kilda cc.  On a Thursday at training from 5.00 pm onwards many supporters that turned up would  be able to meet up inside a reception area near the scoreboard city end with seats and tables Every now and again some ex footballers would come for a look. The front was all glass so you can watch the guys training.

There was food and drinks but l don't remember if they served alcohol.
