  1. I completely forgot about training today at Richmond Oval, 🤦 i went and played mini golf with my kids instead.

Won't be able to make it Wednesday unfortunately.

Sound like a lot of sore bodies floating around will be interesting what sort or performance we get Thursday night.

The Crows will throw the kitchen sink at this one, they always do against us, they view us as the benchmark.

The ‘steal’ debate is an interesting one. I get the statistical argument but on the eye test it just felt like a classic game of momentum swings. We arrested theirs when we needed to and took full advantage of ours when we had them.

Not to mention coming home with a wet sail which should be praised in any sport.

As Max himself noted we are often on the other end of those types of battles so a refreshing change and a damn good win.

Sitting in the crowd with no access to stats etc from the naked eye they got the better of us in clearances but we absolutely nailed our chances like I've never seen before.

We struggled to get the ball out of our D50 with any sort of fluency.

I think our ball movement Inside 50 was better also which ultimately won us the game.

At least the Crows only have one extra day, but with a trip back from Perth. So both are disadvantaged in a way.

It sounds like the club are turning this fixture debacle into a positive and setting up a mini hub for the week. The last time we were in a hub we won a flag.

Hubs are good for our group, we respond well to them.

Win against the Crows and we are a lock for top 2.

Sometimes you just have to find a way to win, and the Demons did it!

ANB top game, Langdon back in form, and BBB making a big contribution.

It’s terrific to see BBB and TMac back in form, I thought their injuries had finished them last year, a great bonus for the team to have them in good health!

I'm not a BBB or Tmac hater in anyway, they are premiership players and will be forever grateful, but did think their best footy was behind them, yes.

Did i think they should have pulled the pin at the end of last year, yes.

I was wrong about them both they have completely prove me and the rest of us wrong.

I apologise BBB and Tmac, i hope the rest of us have the stones to apologise also.

I hope they can keep this going until the business end of the season.

The late body hit from behind on Butters or Rozee after they kicked it that turned into the down field kick was it in the second?

If thats what they're referring to then nothing to worry about.

Those 2 are from the Joel Selwood school of ducking and absolute stain on the game.

  6. Well that's part one of Christmas in March done, what a friggen spirited performance from the lads.

Port you can choke on the fattest of fat ones and I hope you sincerely enjoy it.

Weren't at our best tonight but we dug in deeper and were tougher for longer.

Wore them down and took our chances like a champion team does El Capitano immense and JV7 playing a gutsy 200th.

The backline stood up like they always do lead by our rejuvenated vet in Tmac and Rick.

Was a pleasure to be apart of the cheer squad tonight, now to top it all off with another statement making performance and make it 2 from 2 to sign off in style in the city of churches.

2023 - he missed two games, for one win, one loss

2022 - he missed two games, both losses, and we also lost the game he was subbed out of.

2021 - he missed two games, both were wins, and we also won both games he was subbed out.

Long story short, if we win without May we win in September!

May's Hamstring in the GF was shot to bits couldn't jump, close down space to spoil, he was stationary and only useful in pack situations.

As a defensive unit like tonight relied on his teammates to get him through the game, we have enough quality to cover his absents.

We can do this tonight. 💪

  8. Hot in Adelaide today should be perfect weather for night footy, absolutely no excuses tonight.

May is a big loss but i believe with Petty going down back and Maxy playing a kick behind play  it shouldn't hinder us where winning is out of reach.

The small brigade and our marking around the ground will be 🔑 in a season shaping victory tonight.

    Go you good things ❤️🩵

Always good to see us rocking the best away strip in league by a country mile.

Well done to everyone going to the game tonight. Pretty ground to watch the game as is the walk over the bridge to the ground. Wish I was there with you, putting those feral Port fans out of their misery when we pump them.

I will try my best to rile them up like i always do.

  10. They've obviously seen enough in Port's hard fought victories over an experienced Eagles side and a premiership contending Tigers outfit.

But in saying that the bookies obviously think May is a massive out to our system and going to be hard to replace, they might also think Lever might be a bit ginger and propy.

That price will balance up significantly come the first bounce i would say, money will come in late for us.

Lions coming off half back are hopeless. They have been coughing it up all night. Lower the eyes or at least try a slow play.

They can't move the ball without Coleman.

The AFL can't allow teams to have breaks within 2 weeks of the season starting, its disjointing for the competition.

You either play everyone opening round or scrap it all together.

Garry Lyon suggesting their defence is the weak link.

It was their midfield the did the damage to us last year. Butters 40+ possessions and 2 goals I think. Port overan us in the rain. 3g 6b to 1g 3b in the last. The 4 pt margin was very flattering to us I thought.

Our players seem to really struggle with wet conditions. Their failure to adapt to slippery conditions in Sydney was very costly

We have never played slippery/wet conditions well at all during the Goodwin era.

  13. This week and next is actually christmas in March/April, two games in one week in Adelaide.

For somebody who has not grown up with going to watch the Dees week in week out.

I have become thoroughly appreciative of hearing all the stories of past tales and happenings of the club I love over the years reading demonland and demonology.

I've actually never attended a traditional milestone game so for myself it's a pretty big deal and it so happens to be a player close to the heart.

(Well if you include Neita's 273rd record breaking game in 2006 as a milestone game then I'm lying)

This week no other man deserves the plaudits more than our very own blood and soul of the MFC.

First to come last to leave when it comes to signing autographs smiling for photos with the kiddies and the big kiddies in all of us.

Through thick and thin the man has stuck fat with this football club and no one hurt more when the club was down on its knees and 5 hit out of luck.

Lead us to the promise land once again our midfield wrecking bull, we salute you for your never say die attitude and commitment to the MFC.

Congratulations Jack Viney on 200 courageous games for the MFC. fitting its in SA where the bloodline made its start in the game.

    JV7#200

Carn the Dees, the charge to the flag starts in the city of churches️ win both and we will be dreaming of Christmas in September once again.

Anyone a little confused by comments coming out of Sydney (Tom Papley in particular) about Essendon and their behind the ball hits on their players?  I'm confused by some in the media discussing this too.

Two words. "Max Gawn"  If you are so concerned Tom, call out the players that took hits at Max behind the play as he's going from contest to contest. Knocking him over, bumping off the ball 30-40m away from play.

Sydney and Port Adelaide constantly bump, and knock Gawn to the ground. Some media condone it, and saying that because Max is such a good player that every team should do it, even calling out MFC players for not doing to opposition teams or defending Gawn. Can't remember who it was, but someone actually called out the Dogs, and why they didn't do it, yet others are saying it should be stamped out, and I agree. Umpires need to be aware of it, and call frees.

Tom Papley, you can't have it both ways, either you are happy with bumping players off the ball, or the tummy taps, or you aren't, but then don't do it to other teams, or target players like Gawn.

Sydney are in my top 3 hated clubs no doubt, they are a protected species in the eyes of AFL house.
