Jeffy: doesnt look interested
Seriously, he looks like his mind is halfway out the door. Haven't seen him smile in the last two weeks. Possibly may request a trade end of year?

Just saw the delayed result. I fast forwarded the last kick out. Saw Hawkins mark. yup i know whats coming. fast forwarded and saw the mark in 50. fast forwarded and saw the goal celebration. No need to watch that garbage in full. I saw that [censored] coming from a mile away, we all did i'm sure. Petracca burnt a few teammates in the last few minutes by trying to shrug a second tackle after already having some luck in shrugging the first. Facepalm! , And we went in on some hollywood stunts while up by 29 i thought.

Sydney are 7-1 on the road and 3/5 at home, so you might want to temper expectations of a win just yet. I blame Gill for not scheduling the game at the SCG.

How the [censored] did we not lose to Richmond by 120 points? Am I doing it right?

We can expose Henderson who's had 3 surgeries on his knee since October last year, have Hogan or Tmac run him around up the ground until he's exhausted

If Danger and Menzel are late outs I think we’ll only lose by 9 goals. Speaking of goals, what is the record by any team in a night game?
Maybe you shouldn't bother watching

I had teams on 13 wins missing out. 12 wins definitely not.
You definitely picked Brisbane and Freo last week too?

Who do we assign to Dangerfield when he's up forward? I thought Hibberd would be his man so now i'm quite unsure of who we have than can go with him.

If you are ever going to do without Hibberd, this is probably the week. Geelong have Hawkins, Menzel and a bunch of quick, small types. Yes, we lose Hibberd's run and carry, so I like the idea of Fritsch playing back, but we can cover him defensively.
More of an issue is whether Lewis and Vince can keep up with their opponents.
You forgot Dangerfield who is not in an easily boxed category, I thought Hibbo might've been our best option for him going into this game.

We basically need to do the third quarter v Bulldogs again, to all future opponents... so the defence is not needed.

I really loved the looping handball he did into space to lead a player into an open goal, I think it was ANB who initially called for a handball which would've put himself under a little pressure. Has that footy IQ to know which is a better option and to not be afraid to override more senior players when he's in a better position to sum up what to do.

Does anyone see us in need of a second tall defender alongside Omac to free up Lever as a 3rd tall? Or is it a matter of going with what we had pre-ACL and having Frost & Keilty as depth and Petty developing, next year?

Well it had me worried for a moment. Hope it's turns out to be one of his Norf players that goes back home.
Ben Brown runs off with Cirque de Soleil perhaps?

He's got a good tank too, does Harmes. He could make it as a tagger and winger. I've written him off before, but if he keeps working on his skills and limiting mistakes, he has enough flexibility to play 100+ games for the club.
The only problem with Harmes as a tagger is that he might be too friendly a bloke!

Without checking the stats, my impression is that he has recently increased his kick to handball ratio.
If I recall correctly, Joey Montagna had a 3-5 min video segment on Oliver on fox footy's 'The Weekend Lowdown' about 2 months ago saying he wasn't yet a top 5 (or was it top 10?) midfielder because of the kick/handball ratio, after Oliver texted in the week earlier in a joking way asking why he wasn't in the top midfielders of the AFL list that was run on the show.
There was a slight shift the following weeks as you noticed him taking the kicking option a little more often. But the past month has been an absolute flip of the switch as you see how much confidence he now has to burst away and fire in those long bullet passes.

Has anyone else become tired of 'GHMBA Stadium' yet? I've started slurring in in an attempt to make a sensisble sound, but all I've got so far is Goomba, as in the little mushroomy monster from Mario.
So I'm convinced next week we are going to Goomba stadium. How could we possible lose, just have to jump on their heads.

Especially after Goodwin bear hugged him after the game.
The bear hug is the kiss of death, just ask Jack Trengove! It implies you've worked so hard to get on the team and earn the hug and next weeks selection, so that when you fail the next time, it will end up being the last.

Fritsch is brilliant. There was a moment in the 3rd or 4th where Fritsch was tackled and you could see that he had to re-adjust his kicking within it, because he knew he'd kick it nowhere if he threw it on the boot. Re-adjusted to kick it perfectly away from the tackle to a teammate. He took his time too, knew he had time in the tackle. Clearly with Fritsch, he understands that missing the teammate is a worst case scenario and he's trained his disposal as priority. Hit the man with a pass or don't bother.

...but above all, let's just take it one week at a time. The MFC has a huge month of footy ahead. Just about every game is for 8 points, starting with the game next week against Geelong.
Absolutely. Though i think by the time the fixture is announced in two weeks, if we've beaten 1 of Geelong or Adelaide, then it would be a decent enough guess to make that it will be a match with finals or top 4 on the line. I can't see any other matchups particularly if Hawthorn don't improve, that would be any better a matchup.

That would absolutely be my preference. May actually be a desirable option for the AFL, TV ratings etc, but depending the way other results fall, between now and then and over the weekend, it could also be a dead rubber. I think a Sunday game is the most realistic and I'd be ropable wit the AFL if we in the top 8 mix and they give us anything earlier than a Sunday game...not that the AFL gives a [censored] about the MFC anyway.
I've edited the title to Monday night, maybe this will create some fruitful discussion out of my [censored] up.

I recall some media pundits suggesting late round 23 matches on Monday or Tuesday nights to bridge the gap between round 23 and the finals. Monday night would be good. Anyway I should log out of DL for a week after this atrocity.

Dangerfield Stages
in Melbourne Demons
Posted · Edited by John Demonic
Didn't Gawn stage for one when he got knocked off the ball and went down like he'd been shot? Both free kicks were there. Win some lose some.
