I'll start the topics for the eternal optimists, We are a young side. It's only Baileys 4th year. It's not our window yet. Eagles are a great side at home. HEHEHEHE, sorry guys had to do it. Its either laugh or smash something!

Only positives left to look forward to is GAblett going to GC ( I have a bet that he will with a Geelong fan). Collingwood losing the grand final by a point. So not all be really.

I'm neither here nor there with Bate. But he seems to me to be a player that was given so much opportunity in a bad side a few years ago, as there was no other option ,ie Watts,Pettard,Sylvia(not yet at his peak). He did a few good things and wasn't completly awful.Now that we have young quality developing it will quickly start to stand out just how limited he is. But having him stay on for a few more years will be good depth for us as time goes on. My biggest concern was him getting in the way of developing youngsters, but I think thats just my hang up from the Daniher love child years.

I like Jones but we already have the same type in Moloney and if one has to go then it has to be Jones for me. Would still be disappointed though.

If he wants to run that gauntlet just to play with Adelaide then let him have it. I'm sure he can see the future quality of Melbourne and where we are going. If he doesn't want to be a part of it then its his loss.

Miller has taken to long to show a glimpse of what is required at this level. We all had hopes for so long with him but he never delivered. He has been over taken so easily by first and second year players and even Dunn has proven he will be red and blue for some time to come. I really was in Millers corner for years there, but its too little to late and too much risk for a current winning formula. Sorry Brad but with Green, Dunn and the current crop of young kids I wish you all the best. P.S. I am so hanging on the day a mister Pettard walks back into this team and completes the puzzle. Watts only mistake was that he was thinking what he was going to do with the ball before he had it ( A natural amatuers mistake). His mind looks to be ticking over a million miles per hour because of of the percieved pressure . A really good sign today was that across the body shot at goal( which should of been a goal) he took today that was bang on target, he would of looked to pass it to someone in the past but he seems to be taking the forward responsibility on his shoulders more and more slowly. He's going to be good!

I really like it. A club that has got 2 wooden spoons but in that time has also broken membership records and destroyed 5 million in debt, stands for something. What do you think Demetriou ? Very proud.

When you can't think of who to drop, to bring in 2 great players. Not a bad situation to be in and it is a great sign for the future. Very happy indeed.

+1 I think people talk about Bate alot as the player they want him to be and not as the player he is.

Will be a great player at worse. Starting to take it to the men so can only go up from here i think. Should be worth the wait.

Out Bate. In Trengove. How can anyone want to drop a young exciting Bennell that actually kicked a couple today and has a future even though he has barely played for this club. Then justify what bate (who kicked nothing today) has served up to us this season by wanting him to play next week considering how much more experience he has than Bennell. Am I the only person seeing this?

you can't really blame 3 players for the first half effort,they were all bad. But Bate was the worst on the ground through the whole match. Everybody lifted a little at certain stages.

Trengove back in and Bate out. Would be better having PJ remaining in and staying up forward. Theres a solution. There is nothing to be gained from having Bate in ,Didn't win a single one on one today and helped stopped the momentum in the 3rd we he tried to unsuccessfully again break another tackle through the middle and was drilled. Can anyone point out a single positive he had today that wasnt tainted with 3 terrible efforts.

Even though Jurrah hasn't played for so long and needs the match time he is still dangerous and you can see how good he is going to be.
