I Have to fundamentally agree. We all want a superstar coach and superstar players, but are they out there for the taking and how the hell do we afford it. A 2 Million dollar debt that may rise and people don't work for free. I hate the reality of it all.

For the future of this club I hope he gets it right also!

We have decided to start playing after giving them a 10 goal lead. We are just too nice.

I'm really depressing myself talking about it but that doesn't make it untrue. I think I will go and cry in to a bottle of gin.

I agree fundamentally with what your saying but we would still need to be able come up with funds. How can you see this happening immediately? I can't see on my limited knowledge of the clubs workings how we could fund it at this moment. At years end after Jackson has had a chance to sort something out it might be possible Top People and banks don't work for IOU's and good intentions and Melbourne isn't exactly rolling in cash.

I'm not advocating doing nothing I believe we need to start small with the hanger ons who have been here for a long time but have not improved us, eg: Brian Royal, and the administration nobodies.We can/are angry about this situation but reality (I know its not a fun word) dictates what is do able and what is everyone's dreams. This is why right or wrong i think Neeld probably needs to stay till years end. At years end if there is a an experienced coach we can afford, available then we should take him. I'm not defending Neeld in anyway ,just being a lame realist. Besides I have just read on the hun website, Roos has stated he won't be coaching at AFL level again. So that puts an end to all that dreaming.

Can anyone tell me how much they think Roos will coach for (if he does) and how much we would have to pay to get him (remember there will be other clubs looking for his services) . Then add that to our 1.5 million dollar debt and then add Neelds payout to that also. Then add his staff budget to that because he will want his people around him. Just trying to gauge how in peoples minds they think we could realisticly get rid of Neeld with our budget anytime soon. Would love to have him at Melbourne but I'm a realist not a dreamer and the reality is about availability and price. Sorry if I come across as a downer (realist).

I'm not supporting Neeld but I'm trying to be a realist. If we sack him now, can anyone calling for his head really tell me who is going to replace him? How the team will all of a sudden improve? And where the money for the change is going to come from? I think we have to keep him till seasons end because of these questions. I was screaming to sack him after the game yesterday but if you stop and logically think about it, with who and how can the club do it. I think the immediate changes need to be with the support staff. For example how long has Royal been at this club and what is he doing to improve us? Drastic changes aren't possible right now (as much as this pains me to say) so let's start attacking this cancer in manageable size portions.

I love junk time that's were Melbourne is a real football team and I can imagine.....aaaaah! thats better I'm in my happy place now.

Well what can you really say about that second half. Greeny i have had your number on my jumper for many years now its time for a new one. Why the hell was with the crows theme song being played while they carried green of disgraceful.

What about winning, so we don't rip the hearts out of the faithfull and converted who already barrack for this club. Don't worry about the sponsors,kids future draft picks. There are so many current supporters just hanging on by a thread and this might be just the the thing that stops them from renewing there membership or going to that extra game.

I think hes good enough to see that we don't have the quality that most teams have. We have no stars and no quality senior players.

Judge him by seasons end. Its round 1 for gods sake.

Agree, There was alot of passion going into this game but we need to realise, New coach, players, game plan and its only round one. As much as my heart is hurting and I'm fuming. We see now why there is no seniors in the leadership role, as they don't lead.
