21 disposals last week and 20 tackles. Seems he knows what is wanted from him, and he's just been given a 2 year extension from memory, so clearly not on the move.

Did not say he would be delisted, just that no team would trade for him, since he can't find the ball, 5 possessions around 1, and every time he's come in he's shown about the same so far.

It strikes me as a square peg in a round hole move. We need a 40 goal plus forward which BBB can be.

Would have preferred this move to be trialled at Casey for a few weeks.

If Oliver is at full strength I can't see much sense in Laurie's inclusion. Unfortunately he may well go the way of Jordon and Bedford at season's end

He won't go the way of Jordan or Bedford, teams wanted those players, no teams would want bill, he has shown nothing, if he doesn't make it at the dees, then he is on the delist list

If we are building a multi million dollar facility we should either build it at Casey (unsure of feasibility) or we should build a ground to play on at the new home base, i am firmly of the belief that having 2 facilities 45 minutes apart will cause unintended division within the club.

There are AFL teams that run all of their different teams out of the same facility so that's not only possible, but i know people at those clubs that would strongly preach the benefits of it, and those that have 2 facilities like Collingwood have them situated MUCH closer together and the reasoning relates a lot to history and tradition, Victoria park has a lot of meaning to the Pies.

I am not intending to upset anyone with this view, i just have a slightly different opinion on this and will try my best to voice that respectfully.

It will cause no divisions stop talking rubbish.

Oh yeah, i'm a non Melbourne supporter that's been posting on Demonland for just shy of 12 years haha. it's a massive conspiracy because Casey is cold and i don't like it.

Yes but where  does Casey play? You're answer is?  split with  Casey, because that's the only way, we abandon Casey, or do you want the VFL sides to play at Caulfield, or start again with only a Melbourne demons AFL and Vfl side, the VFL side plays where? So come on smarty pants, answer theses questions

Whatever the forward mix is, we just need to figure it out and back it in, one of my big criticisms of Goody as a coach is i don't think he gives plans and players enough time. Sam Weideman was a good example of a guy who was back in the 2's the second he had a bad game.

I think the signs are there that the 3 talls, Brown, Roo and Petty can be a dangerous combination, so i'd be giving them the next 6 weeks together guaranteed to build chemistry not just with each other, but with the mids

Sam had his chances, with Sam he would play 1 good game and then go missing for weeks, at the bombers he kicked 6 goals 1 week, then went goalless in the next 6 games

    Quite easy to understand.

As highlighted in his message, we will not be playing games at Caulfield.  So for the VFL, AFLW, VFLW sides we will still need a ground to play on = Casey.

, what does he want us to do leave Casey?

I like the idea of Caufield, my major concern is with Perts "2 campus" idea that he's mentioned a few times, i think the best clubs thrive on unity and when you have 2 facilities it's hard to see how that creates anything other than division

We have 4 teams, it's a great idea 2 campus, imagine all four teams sharing the same facility all at once, it'd be no better than where we are at the moment, sharing with all the Melbourne clubs at Ammi Park, where do you want Casey to play and train?  think about it, they have to play at Casey, think before you try and add a negative division comments, it's unfounded, and quite frankly absurd, what's you're  agenda

    I like it.

I don't see what the big issue is, people have been screaming for a huge home base and yet when we put a proposal forward its still not good enough.

Obviously still a few hoops to jump through but if we can pull this off then what an exciting period for the footy club for the future.

    Wow it's great

And boy aren’t you just just fountain of boring tripe that constantly pipes in whenever someone has a different opinion to you that doesn't float in the same boat as you do.

I balanced out my opinion by stating that I thought Will Verrall was much more of a deserved selection purely because he has been far more consistent at VFL level then Fullarton has, which again, is been outlined in the VFL player by player reviews.

Clearly I don't think Verrall plays anyway, but based on form and from the VFL games I've seen I'd play Verrall ahead of any other tall target we have.

And for your information, Fullarton has played at AFL level and has been absolutely BOG ordinary.

Hay!!! who you calling boring? you are quite boring, with only negative comments, maybe change it up a bit, who are you mister angry pants?

Re Noah. I think he is a bit of a late developer. He wasn’t focused solely on footy for a while there.
The knock on him I heard was about athleticism and hardness. But that was 2 years ago. He may have matured since then.
Like all father-son prospects. I want him to come to us and be successful. But also not cost us much in terms of draft considerations.

If no club wants him then at worst he will be taken in the rookie draft, if his good enough to go in top 40 picks, then go for him

    Following on from my question:

Can the panel discuss whether there are alternative, better approaches or strategies to fully utilise the list for these matches during the season when we know our best 22 will be 10% or even 20% below their usual output because of the fixture.

For example, the following players were available this week:

    - Hunter (who has been best 22) was available, could he not have replaced Windsor who was understandably down on his past performance?

    - Laurie also available, could he not have replaced a tired and indeed injured Oliver?

    - He’s not “best 22” in normal circumstances, but could not Schache have come in for BBB who really looked exhausted this week (and that’s not to knock his performance the past few weeks)?

You get the drift …  Given the importance of fitness to the outcome of games these days as well as how well everyone is drilled on our systems, I just wonder whether we could more strategically use our second string of players to manage the long season.

Browns worst games are better then shaky best game

Mate every time there is a ticketing thread you appear and tell us why you don’t want to attend the game. Why even bother.

Why bother replying to old dee, she lost it ages ago, she doesn't think JVR has shown anything yet

It's a tigers home game and with the way their season has been I would not have expected a big crowd. However it appears I am wrong. Looks like TV for me.

I just bought a ticket today, still plenty left

To celebrate Rooey re-signing, the Club is offering junior memberships for $29 for a limited time. At midnight last night I bought my unborn granddaughter membership for $65. Could’ve saved $36. Oh well, the money goes to the Club so it’s all good.

*opens tonight’s packet of 2-minute noodles*

I once bought my nephews a baby membership his father did not appreciate it being a Brisbane supporter

    Don't think he'll grow any taller. He's 21

What he lacks in height ..not that 194 is short...he makes up with his giant leap. One of the best.

I would prefer to see him play chf with his athleticism and tank.

And despite his leap maybe have someone taller giving Max a chop out. Although Jvrs skills at ground level are pretty good. Time will tell.

I get the feeling that at the moment he's trying too hard. His hands are hitting the ball too fast and so he's not holding as many. Needs to just drop his hands at the last second and cushion the impact a little. Once he starts holding them which is mostly technical then he will be a weapon.

I really think he's got a huge career ahead of him.

And your spot on about loyalty.

He averages 29% hit out to advantage, max averages 11%

Very happy to hear of this signing.

Hopefully he has plenty of upside going forward as AFL is a very hard gig to crack into, let alone stay and play regular games.

However at the end of the day it's a performance based sport and, like any other player, Roo will need to hit some marks set to him by the coaches / FD over the months/years to retain his spot.

As to the length of contract, well that is the club's prerogative but for mine i cannot see how anyone but the very cream of the crop gets signed on for more than two or three years at a time.

5 years is about two to three years too many for about 80% of the talent pool of 40 odd listed players at all clubs imho.

In addition, regardless of performance aspects and/or development of prospective talent, you just don't know what's around the corner as a player.

Anything can and sometimes will go wrong as we've witnessed with so many players over the years.  Gus a great example.  Murphy from the Pies another.  Hannebery on the Saints list for four years without playing for the most part of those.

If we were to trawl through the history books there'd be a list as long as our arms and legs for players who ended up out of the game with years of potential great games left in them, for whatever reason.

Good luck to Roo and here's hoping he ends up being a very very good (or better) KF for us at some point.

And who do you think can even replace roo if he is dropped? , shaky? What a joke, roo shows more in his bad Games then shaky shows in a good game, he kicked 28 goals last year and is on track for around 30 to 40 goals already, if you can't see that he is already our best tall forward then  WT
