  1. It's not only the number of tackles but how he tackles is what I've really liked from him so far. When he tackles the opposition they are almost always brought to ground and either the ball spills free or we get a stoppage inside the forward 50 and very rarely do they get a clean possession away.
  2. When we have a full list I wouldn't mind Hibberd to get bursts through the middle. His power running from the contest looks to be a real asset, combined with his pin point kicking could be seriously damaging.
  3. "Figure out Aussie Rules footy" Enjoy a uniquely Melbourne experience with an afternoon of AFL at the MCG!Aussie Rules football is a huge part of Melbourne’s sporting culture, and the mighty Demons (Melbourne Football Club) want you to catch the fire! They’ve organised an AFL familiarisation event for uni students who are intrigued, but can’t quite make sense of, the game – or just looking for a fun and active way to spend a Sunday.Come along to a Footy 101 workshop, starting with a game intro, an active session on the field, then head over to the MCG to watch the Round 9 game between the Dees and North Melbourne, enjoy some ‘traditional’ footy fare, and a beer if you like. ALL FREE.Sunday 21 MayArrive from 11.45 for a 12-1pm hands on session:Gosch’s Paddock (Corner of Punt Road and Olympic Boulevard, East Melbourne)www.mopt.com.au/about/sports-precinct/goschs-paddock/Register to attend:www.melbournefc.com.au/fans/engaging-melbourne Looks like the football club is trying to attract international university students as this was posted on the University of Melbourne home page. Could this be the way we end up cracking 45k next year?
  4. If I see any of these four things next week, I think that's enough Melbourne for me this year. 1. Jesse Hogan just stand there and call for the ball to be kicked on his head. Why the coaches don't tell him to lead is beyond me, he just gets spoiled every time trying to take a miracle pack mark. 2. All the defenders just at the footy at once. Why the f%@k does no one stay down??? Hawthorn where able to kick about 4 of easiest goals without a Melbourne player insight as it fell into their lap. 3. A player leaving their man to chase a player that's already being chased. Happened so many times today just got sucked in ball watching and gave hawthron an easy outlet handball or kick. 4. JKH pull on a Melbourne jumper. What the actual f@*# does he offer. I reckon you could pick someone out of the crowd who would have more impact. He can't tackle, can't mark, can't kick, doesn't kick goals. And the statistician taking down pressure acts have to watching a different game nothing about JKH is pressuring or effective.
  5. Also heard that Jayden Hunt will be wearing a pink headband and will also be auctioning it off after the game.
  6. There is no money in YouTube for AFL teams. North Melbourne make between $282-4400 a year (see this for stats https://socialblade.com/youtube/user/nmfcofficial). The cost of paying someone to run the channel would greatly exceed the revenue. Even Collingwood makes less than North Melbourne but have the most subscribers out of any AFL team (https://socialblade.com/youtube/user/collingwoodctv). I would much rather scrap the wide spread of media outlets and just concentrate the clubs efforts on to one particular source to help improve the quality.
  7. Petracca is rumoured to have torn both ACL's while playing "basketball" with his girlfriend.
  8. 1300 224 636 beyond blue hotline for you.
  9. The development league game interests me a lot. Switkowski who plays for box hill has had a very good second year in the VFL system. He was in the VIC metro team with Petracca and Brayshaw and showed plenty. Watching a lot of TAC cup that year I thought that he would be drafted late or rookie listed. Surprisingly to me neither happened mainly due to his height and body weight. Very similar to that of Caleb Daniel and think he could be a good pick up. Hope Goodwin and co are watching.
  10. Could get him as a DFA or if Geelong know we are interested might trade for a pick in the 60's. Trading would be preferable as he can start training with us earlier to help improve the success of getting his body right. I say get him!
  11. I was put down at birth and just got it 2 years ago. The invention of 20/20 cricket is one of the best things about going to the MCG a good 3 or 4 games and also the domestic one day cricket isn't too bad either.
  12. Of course, but we have turned over a lot of our list in the past 3 Roos years and this year I think with not many draft picks it would be good to sign these sorts of players for a 1 year contract while still turning over 4-6 spots for players with more upside that our resources can be spent on.
  13. Not my wallet or the clubs that's the whole point of performance based. If the player isn't getting games and not performing he gets paid less.
  14. I don't see the harm of giving Dawes a one year performance based contract. Either he gets his body right and plays some good footy at AFL level, or he isn't good enough or is injured and he spends time at Casey helping Weideman and Hulett develop. Don't see how we can lose out of this deal, especially with neither of the young forwards ready and if injury hit it would be good to have a strong back up to come in.
  15. Either way this year has been a success. We have shown to potential recruits that the form is there and that we will be a good side next year. If we do make the finals we earn valuable experience and also more media exposure. If we don't we start preseason early and get more learning into our younger players, either way this year was a big one for the club. (But it would be really nice to attend a final)
  16. If he did end up leaving because we couldn't pay him what he wanted and we got Fyfe and pick in return is anyone here gonna be that upset. Yes he is very good, has a really strong contested mark and decent skills around the ground and often helps set up goals. My main issue is that he can't kick goals from or on 50, even outside of 40 he struggles to make the distance. He also has a poor attitude and doesn't show much passion. If we got the best midfielder in the comp plus a pick we could use to trade for someonelse or take it to the draft, I would be very pleased. I think the main downside is neither weideman or hulett look ready for a full afl season so it may slow the development of the forward line. Either way I'm not bothered and can't wait for next season. Go demons!
  17. Also using the graph Melbourne should beat Hawthorn...
  18. Thanks for the clarification. I agree, I reckon Goodwin would've thought what he was sharing would've remained private given how much he said and what he talked about. The poster could've posted specific things that people would be interested about, that were not harmful to anyone. So rude to post everthing.
  19. Maybe they cut Maric from the extended bench? Looks like a bit of cat and mouse being played with this weeks with the ins and outs.
  20. I thought I read the whole thing what were the comments around Watts?
  21. Hopefully they start on each other at the opening bounce and Oliver gets a chase down holding the ball tackle on parish to start the game off.
  22. North Melbourne definitely is the team that I'm most sick of losing to. Every year I turn up to Etihad stadium with my best mate (who is a North Melbourne supporter) hoping we can at least come close, but also scared of the outcome. But we just get repeatedly spanked every time. We put up no contest until some point we come out and kick a couple of goals in a row but by then its already over. All their average players seem to have field days against us.
  23. What I noticed when growing up was the elite players that played TAC cup and even made Vic Metro and then subsequently drafted, were absolute freaks at basketball. Take Petracca I've watched him play basketball and he is a much better basketball player than he is footballer. Basketball helps you develop so many skills that are crucial for AFL mainly calmness in traffic like Pendlebury who is able to weave in and out without being tackled (who was also a freak at basketball). Also another thing is clean hands, you move so fast in basketball you have to be ready to catch the ball in an instant. So I can't wait to how he develops.
