Oh, I figured as he is a Lorne boy that there is a media 'go home factor' (tm) which is Geelong, you know because, it's their backyard and etc etc yadda yadda yadda....
euroa mate

only if he incorporates the power stance into every round and a spiced up version for finals (if we ever make them again)

On the Road To The Draft Podcast this week, they said Weightman could go between 10-20. So he has been moving up the draft order. I would also like to know which news said we were looking at him yesterday too, I couldn’t find any mention. I think he is exactly what we need though. Please don’t draft another inside mid!
yeah i heard that podcast.. but surely a club is taking him before a tall that may not work out around the 10-15 range. he looks pretty good to go. we shall see, but seriously doubt the club would take him at 3 if we kept that, i reckon ash would be more of a chance

Fantasy trade/draft pick wish list V2, if Laird is not on the trade table.
If P2: draft Anderson, Langdon (trading 2nd round), Tomlinson, Elliot:
If P3: split picks, draft Stephens and Weightman, the rest as above.
and if this rumour is true that we're after weightman (should we get pick 3 & split the pick with gws) what happens if he isn't there? we get stephens (a runner) and what other small forward type i wonder? there's a few options, but all not worth splitting the pick in my opinon. they'd better be damn sure that the first 13 or so clubs with picks don't want weightman either.
-
every scenario disgusts me. i want to keep our first pick, not split it for two meh players.. much rather bank on a player like ash/young than two other kids. i sense this being our most frustrating trade period for half a decade. ugh.

Barrett is a tool. His grasp of the English language is limited and his intellect is worse. He just likes the sound of his own voice.

Bell might get that feather in his cap that he’s been wanting so badly.

We are putting all of our energy into Ed Langdon and yet the likes of Zak Jones, Tom Papley Congilio will all just waltz straight past us to either So Kilda or Carlton.
are we now..

anyone provide more onwhat kieran jack’s wife was talking about re: her comments to BT in theRoamingBrian segment?

we need noah or ash. easy. if we muck around with anything to get extra first rounders this year it’ll be next year’s first that gets put up for swap
-
i’d trade 2020 first round for king.. we need to keep pick 2/3 this year for anderson.

which part of the g will have dees supporters and maybe some shelter from the rain? nothing else on, so may as well go see sink some beers

he was killing it last year, but should really be in their best 22 this year.. what's happened. did he do a brayshaw or what? lol

Foot skills are overrated.
It's the game style that enables players that have good enough foot skills (they were drafted AFL players afterall) to hit targets easier.
Richmond's foot skills are okay, as are Geelong's, but only Hawthorn under Clarkson 7 or so years ago could say their kicking was above the rest. West Coast go nicely too, but I think people get foot skills wrong.
hitting targets (team mates or the goals) are kinda important.. we need way more with foot skills. less bull at a gate rush it forward types

I'm tipping Anderson will be the number 1 pick in the draft. Gold Coast will take him.
they already have those types...the suns need a steady reliable mid, with foot skills

Definitely have Ed Langdon in the frame. But his cost rises each week and we need to use a 1st rounder this year.
Dan Butler is another who seems better at AFL level than VFL. Has the grunt and goal sense we need. Swap for a 4th round or as a delisted free agent
Rough chance that we might have a crack at Nakia Cockatoo. He fits us perfectly. Injured a lot!!! But Cats will have cap$$ issues so he might be gettable if we give up a 3rd round pick. (Pick around 42-45).
if we picked up these guys and a top 5 pick without losing anyone of substance, i'd be reasonably happy. potentially 3 runners (at least two, three if nakia gets fit) and a top level kid who'll hopefully be almost ready to go. get rid of some more dead wood and pick up a sam day/cheap forward for depth and we could build again.

This draft is packed full of midfielders and smaller types. Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of tall forwards, which is an area we are lacking in. Will be interesting to see who we wind up with in the top 5 and if we can land a small forward like Weightman with our second round pick (if we still have it heading into the draft). A classy skilled midfielder with pace and a quality small forward would be a good result.
i reckon we might be better off trading for talls.. bit harder to confirm their ability based on previous drafts. i like the idea of picking up a small fwd with our second pick though.. there’ll be a few about them by the looks.
