  1. Why are people surprise at Taggerts delisting? Didnt stand out in any games and only showed bursts which is not what Paul Roos will stand for. Remember his 5 goal haul was only against a EDFL standerd team. Playing games in the development game didnt help either. Yes he was injured last year but he had a full pre season this summer and still didnt show much.

Reality is, he wasnt good enough.

  2. With so many knockers out there I am beginning to understand why the Dees suffer from a losing mentality, perhaps the brain of some authors havn't developed, logic might be a gift to some.

Fancy selecting a round one team with players that have left the club or are contracted at other clubs.

This sounds too much like Matt Burgan's b.llshit interviews and reports. You only have to look at HOGAN's face in a recent interview.

I am sure other clubs don't go down the bullish.t track.

My is Enyaw,I am proud to be of aboriginal origin and some of you already know this. You racists out have the cheek to call me Wayne who do you think you are?

    What?
  3. Pick 11 and Pick 12 in consecutive years are now no longer even in the AFL system.

We the financial members and supporters of this club have been totally screwed by a lot of incompetence from people who have since been thrown out.

What the Hell was the strategy?

Thank God it is in the past, but it does make me angry for the Wasted years we have all been subjected too.

The MFC deserves no respect on any level until we start winning...To hear CS on SEN a few weeks back talk about draft recruiting was an insult.

Its almost makes you feel like we weren't even in the first round of the draft those two years. What a waste

  4. Which O & M team do you play for, DD?

I grew up in Corowa in the early 1960s, long before they amalgamated with traditional rivals Rutherglen.

The O & M was one of the strongest country leagues, if not the best, in those days. Lots of ex VFL (AFL) players coaching and playing with teams.

Walking over to Cross rival Wang Rovers, after 2 years at Wang Maggies.

Very strong league and some tough footballers too. Justin koschitzke just signed with Lavington Panthers so that will be an interesting hitout.

Some good people come out of Corowa but none other then Jim Sandral. I was seeing his grand daughter for a bit and managed to see all of his 1956 premiership memorabilia and photos.. It was defiantly a moment il never forget. I was in absolute awe of all the stuff he had. Could not meet such a gentle country bloke!

  5. Doesn't matter, if we miss him and he's good , he'll be coming to us in two years with his brother who might just be captain.

Based on what? I never saw any Selwood brothers leave a club to be with their brother?

If Zack gets picked up by a top 4 club and does well while then i doubt he would want to come join us.

Mitch Brown wanted to come home last year and he had his heart set for St Kilda. Ended up signing a 3 year deal..

  6. This article is seriously unbelievable and moving in the way Jones has carried himself over the last 2 years. The Age followed Jones and 4 other footballers the whole year and this one of Jones shows why I now think he should be captain.

For all the Nobs like Damian Barrett that [censored] kick us, Emma Q does a big pat on the back for this.

    Enjoy:

  7. Everyone go back and have a look at luke shueys under 18s tape and its pretty avarage.. just saying.

Point is Freeman under a Paul Roos could be a seriously explosive player. Even Patrick Dangerfield was a junior wasnt this explosive.

Will probably grow to 183 which is decent hight for a midfielder and his kicking is even that bad as people make out to it.

Infact James Aish highlights is pretty average, shanks an absolute howler of a kick and sprays a couple in the footage i saw.

  8. we certainly have to concentrate on natural footballers first, & then compare their athletic abilities after that, before selecting.

we've taken so many boys who just were never near good enough over the years its demoralising. I would have had more success with my first 2 rounds picks, than our recruiters have over the 2005 - 2011 draft years. that is just poor.

I'm really glad to get the Roos team in, & I feel trust in them to do a strong job with our list.

    Luke Dunstan is your man.

  9. Great little clips dd36. Very well explained and exampled. Really looking forward to seeing what Roos can do with our lot.

As an aside, anyone know when training starts up? Will be interesting to see how things change this preseason from last.

Pretty sure 1st to 4th year players come back on the 6th of November then the rest back on the 18th??

  10. Hey guys, a guy that is a chief staff for Bound for Glory and watches a lot of TAC cup and writes about did a phantom draft and he had this to say about pick 9:

    9. Melb - Christian Salem (VIC - Mid)
    Sandringham Dragons
    182 cm 83 kgs
    Player Comparison: Scott Pendlebury
Looks like a human wrecking ball but is far from it. Whilst Salem can win the inside ball with his tenacity and strength, but the real highlight of his game is his rare ability to find time and space when it shouldn’t be there. In his first TAC Cup game this season, Salem dominated the first half to the point where I literally couldn’t take notes on any other player because he was the only one catching my eye. In heavy traffic, he manages to evade a tackle and spot up a player perfectly, even with immense pressure around him. Salem can hit the scoreboard too, although his game isn’t suited to the forward line. His outside skills are fantastic and he is a fantastic tackler. To be quite honest, I think he is a better player than Josh Kelly, but Kelly is a superior athlete. Against New South Wales/ACT, Salem was played in the forward pocket and kicked 3 goals. Yet when he moved up the field, he just played with such composure and measured his kicks so well. He’s also quite quick and can act as a ball carrier. Also got a great head on his shoulders, chatted to him several times through the year and he gives off the sense of professionalism and high level football doesn’t seem to faze him.

Found this little snippet from his Academy coaching days. Very insightful, you would think this would be a style of lay next year. Expect a lot of free flowing play which is good to see instead of the defence choke which didn't work under Neeld.

Massive emphasis on spread to which we struggled with..

Even though they are kids he does not go easy on them. Still cannot believe we have him as our head coach..
