  1. I can't get excited by Kennedy of Bugg. Kennedy is a small NQR midfielder and Bugg a strong bodied defender/tagger who'd be fringe best 22. I understand we need better depth, but all I can conclude is that this draft must be an absolute stinker.
  2. You're a Howe apologist.
  3. I know we won't do it, but I'd say **** you Howe, you'll go to the Suns or into the PSD. And I'd follow through.
  4. Would love to get pick 3 from the Suns.
  5. Good ordinary 29 year old wants to leave his club and you just know there will be Demonlanders keen to clog the list.
  6. I'd take both of those players every day of the week over Howe.
  7. Rosa is turning 29 next year and he's the player West Coast chose with the pick 29 we gave them for Hightower (Paul Johnson). It's a no from me as he's not our demographic.
  8. I agree that he shouldn't, but are you going to guarantee it won't pan out that way ?
  9. About what ? I don't even recall seeing you before.
  10. When he chooses Collingwood Demonland will break the internet.
  11. Sorry - jinx.
  12. Is this the thread for "the sky is falling" ? Some of you are jellybacks.
  13. Historically your A-graders come from top 5 picks. Petracca, Hogan (would have been), Brayshaw, Tyson - we need these guys to become A-graders/stars and hope Salem, Viney, Gawn et al can take those sorts of steps. It would be great to land a big fish, but I'm just as happy to develop our own.
  14. Oscar and Tom McDonald picks 53, vandenBerg - rookie, Harmes - rookie, Mitch White - rookie, Max King - rookie. I'd rather a late 40's pick. Keep turning the list over.
  15. Pick 4 is the reason he has suitors and the reason a club may hold onto him longer. It may also glean a better pick, but it appears Port are the only ones interested in him even though Mahoney has stated he's happy to stay in Melbourne. His talent hasn't "failed to translate to the MFC", it's failed to translate to AFL level football. When people were wetting themselves over his 3 or 4 goals in an intraclub at Gosch's a couple of year ago all I saw was a player who was hopeless in the contest and showed an appalling ability to evade tackles and the opposition. I left with real concerns over him as a player. Nothing has changed since then. Sometime you buy shares in what appears to be a solid company only to be disappointed years down the track. You can hold on because of the reasons you bought in the first place or you can cut your losses. What you initially paid has no bearing on current market value. I don't see Toumpas being worth much at all.
  16. We have the best young CHF in the land.
  17. Why ? Right now it doesn't matter how Toumpas got to the club. He's evaluated on his 3 years at the club. I'd like pick 29 too, but Port aren't going to pay much for a player who in all likelihood will play more at SANFL level next year than the AFL.
  18. I know it's just a quirk of the system, but pick 6 is statistically the worst pick in the top 20 since the inception of the draft. I won't be unhappy if we manage to wrangle pick 3. Not that I'm superstitious or anything...
  19. It wasn't quite like that. Brett Anderson said that he "thinks" Collingwood is Howe's preference, however, Collingwood have other deals they have to focus on before they could turn their attention to Howe. Other clubs have good offers before Howe, so it's not like Howe will only go to Collingwood.
  20. From hearing him for over 10 years I'd be amazed if he posts here. I can't really articulate why, but I don't think he walks among us. He says too many things that are at odds with what is discussed here. Even our greatest nongs are a step up from Chris.
  21. I'm taking Lethal on his word. Aish won't be traded. They need to set the tone for all future players drafted by the Lions.
  22. I'll stomach Melksham, but genuinely don't want this bloke.
  23. I hadn't even noticed this until I saw your highlight. What am I meant to be saying and about whom ?
