Ziebell broke his leg in 2009 (his first year) after earning a RS nomination in round 7. He played the first 10 games and was a staple in the team. He didn't play another match for the year. His fitness is the key. He has time to get it to an acceptable level. I see him playing close to goal in 2016 with the odd stint on the ball.

Yes, he went from 90 skinfolds to 59 quite quickly and then ran 10.45 for the 3km. How quickly can he get down to sub 10 ? It shows up in his third placing in the agility test at DC. He knows how to play to his strengths with that dance/sidestep. He's got strings to his bow, such as good speed and contested marking that are atypical for many inside mids. -

I don't wish to seem unkind, but some of us are truly (truely is another one) staggered that so many younger people use "his" instead of "he's". It's embarrassing. -

B&F's in crap teams. Never made the AA squad of 40. Only really got going at the age of 25 and has had just one A-grade year. Pick 12 versus pick 5 (Parish) Clearly it's speculation, but I'll be surprised if Parish doesn't become a better player than Nathan Jones. -
Watts won't play 10 games next year. They want a team of "22 competitors" and clearly he isn't.
-
It's a good point and I agree it's finally getting tough to find a spot in the top 22. You either think he'll make that quick transition to senior company after a solid preseason, or you don't. I do. Players like Ziebell, Martin, Wines, Viney, Selwood and others, players that are competitive beasts at junior level, always transition that same skill level to the AFL. And it transitions quickly. I often read that they "got away with it at juniors, but they won't against the bigger bodies in the AFL". But guess what ? They do. If they're good enough. We wouldn't pick him at 4 (and Essendon were going to take him with their next pick) if we didn't think he was an elite talent to develop. Yes, he'll be far better in 4-5 years, but his skillsets will earn him 15+ games in 2016. I feel like it's groundhog day from 2014.

You really thought I'd forgotten what I said over that 24 hour period ? That's as long as it lasted. 24 hours. Until I thought I better look into this if the reports are true. What a flogworthy post of yours.

"Scientists project that the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer of 2013." — John Kerry on Monday, August 31st, 2009 in an op-ed published in the Huffington Post -
Yeah, he's a walk up start. And the caveat was injury, not "resting". He won't be competing with Melksham (back), Lumumba (whose only hope is back - he's crap in the midfield), Stretch (outside), Kennedy or JKH (smalls). I'd don't see much synergy with Kent either. Oliver is a clearance king. Guess where we're crap ? Of course he has his L plates on and won't be rushed, but players like (Wines, Martin, Brayshaw, Selwood, Bontempelli, and I could go on) are staples in their teams right from the beginning. Oliver sits well with that company and won't be any different.
-
I remember last year saying that Brayshaw would play round one and all and sundry said he'd spend at least a month at Casey. Naturally, he played round one and went on to play 20 games. Oliver and Petracca will play 20 games too, subject to the obvious.
-
Wanna wager ? If fit, Oliver will be a staple from the get go, irrespective of my early reactionary views.
