  1. Exactly what we thought would happen is. Oscar and Weideman not ready
  2. I played with Aaron Vandenberg at Ainslie and he is not that quick. Neither he or Trengove has explosive speed to break through packs. What a lot of people don't realise is that leg speed can be negated by reading of the play. If someone breaks and spreads a kicker in the AFL rarely has a lot of time to make a decision, usually 1-2 seconds. In those 1 to two seconds leg speed is only going to get you so far. But if you have the ability to read a game and understand where the play is going (and Trengove excels at this) you can put yourself in a position where the break from the spread is ineffective. This is what coaches love and is not play that is rewarded but it can potentially stop a quick spread and forces the kicker to change their mind and that can result in a turnover. Tom Scully is the best example of this. His smarts and 2 way running is why he is so highly rated. I for one am not worried about Trengove's leg speed. His smarts, professionalism and inside grunt are his assets and I expect to see him feature regularly in our 22 and do well.
  3. Looking forward, 2018 is a crucial year for re-signings
  4. Very optimistic. We lost to Essendon's Reserve Grade team and now you expect us to beat their A Grade side. Adelaide, Hawks as Wins very interesting. Freo with their stars back will be a top 8 side again. Not an automatic win like last year. All depends on injuries and our development of younger players but I see an 11/11 or 12/10 win/loss ratio.
  5. Because Mitchell was always likely to retire next year so they are able to bring O'Meara and Mitchell in. Makes sense.
  6. Carlton get Brisbane, Essendon and Brisbane twice.
  7. 64 disposals (50 effective) 24 ContPoss 12 Clear 14 In50s 22 Score Involv. 4 goals 4 assists. Even for NEAFL, that is super impressive.
  8. That GWS list of missing is down right scary. They will make the 8 depending upon injuries. Everyone of those players apart from Steele would be a starter in their best 22.
  9. This is the side I agree with the most. However, Lumumba will replace Stretch on the wing.
  10. Did we grab 3 as insurance in case we missed pick 7. The difference between the players available between 7-10 isn't that big. All I know is GC would only negotiate for nothing less than pick 3.
  11. I'm confident there's more to this than what we think. I wouldn't be surprise now that we do trade for Prestia. 3 + a player or later pick.
  12. Hmmm who to believe. Mahoney? Or GNF? Mahoney, GNF? Tough call.
  13. Assuming we finish 11/12th next year, the trade will look like this: Melb: 3, 10 & 43 GC: 6, 7/8 & 29. Win/Win for both clubs. GC know this draft is weak and will target next year. Melbourne obviously has targeted players that we want for this year that we can now get. It also shows with the growth of players like Hogan, Brayshaw, Viney, Petracca etc that the club thinks we won't be relying on the draft in the next few years. Get the players we want now, manage them and watch this team transform into the next Hawthorn. Great trade MFC! After an average trade season so far this has filled me with hope and optimism!
  14. Do we need a 'big fish'. In the next few years we are going to have trouble keeping our own big fish: Brayshaw Petracca Hogan Viney
  15. Another thread where people lose their mind and we end up signing no 'big fish'. It's always good to imagine though!
  16. Signed a new 3 year deal with Adelaide. Tom Lynch signs three year contract extension with Adelaide Crows Cross him off our recruitment list.
  17. We are down 62 to 15 at half time to Carlton. CARLTON!! We need much more people sacked and gone than that.
  18. Max Gawn standard performance after signing a contract.
  19. When is Petracca writing WOW on twitter again.
  20. Don't want to sound negative BUT I think a loss this weekend against Carlton would be the breaking point for some, players and fans included. This is a must win game for our direction as a club. We rarely perform against clubs we are expected to win. A loss this weekend would be the biggest loss in our history. Lets hope we win!
