  1. There's really no argument here as to who we keep - Trengove has shown he has what it takes to be a star midfielder in our competition, unfortunately as many others he has been poorly managed as far as his injuries are concerned. Given the time off and the rehabilitation that he's putting himself through, he's going to come back an absolute animal, 2015 is going to be the Trengove and Viney show in that midfield. Toumpas, while has "silky skills" doesn't seem to have the footy mongrel in him and it's painful to watch, the club already has an outside ball getter that gets flogged most weeks (mostly from the supporters than the other teams) that wears a number 4 on his back. If we have the chance to make something out of this disastrous mistake of taking Toumpas over Wines we should make the most of it and move him on to greener pastures before we're looking at another Morton.
  2. Can we just throw in Toumpas into every trade?? Maybe if we just keep pushing him out there with some massive talk behind him we may get something for nothing... I think we need to get a used car salesman to write up his bio though in order for him to look appealing: FOR TRADE 1994 European Model Demon Low KMS Boots hardly used 2 brand new hips Neck hardly ever used Would be a fantastic player for a first year recruiter looking for an outside outside outside player. Will partner with early round draft pick if needed. No NABRS certificate $SLOAN OBO
  3. What happened to the possibility of Kirk coming over? Roosy was obviously massive raps for him as a player and coach - it'd make sense wouldn't it, a bloke that has played to Roosy's structure and "so easy to coach" to then come in and pick it up again to follow it through when Roosy steps away?
  4. Was it prior to or post the Toumpas signing? he's hardly going to turn around after the signing saying that we should have signed Wines. Either way, such a poor decision and it makes me sad.
  5. Right there with you, to see the character and courage Ollie brings to the table is EXACTLY what MFC is missing at the moment and to think we brought another outside (at best) player like Toumpas in, knowing his injuries in the past and how this would reflect his future was the worst decision since Morton. I honestly thought we were over that crap too. I'd like to see the direct quote from JV in regards to taking Toumpas over Wines as I think that's heavily fictional.
  6. ***BREAKING NEWS*** MFC is paying for Nathan Jones' new baby's clothes!! word is that Jones and wife were seen walking with said child through MULTIPLE baby stores in order to buy clothes for the infant. Jones offered no comment at the time other than to question the reporter as to - what business is it of yours where I spend my money? MFC members are in uproar as to Nathan Jones spending his salary on something other than himself. Meanwhile, Mitch Clark assists in fiance education fees, MFC Members partake in mass weeping session in disbelief of this support.
  7. Football managers usually follow the same contract periods as the players themselves ie. contracted to October 31st. So Mitch's [censored] manager was still contracted for another couple of months. Did it annoy anyone else the way and the tone that he kept on calling him "Mitchell", sounded like a dirty politician / used car salesmen...
  8. Really?? sometimes it's just not worth it mate, it really isn't... "dog act" - it's almost as if you're saying it because everyone else is. Heaven forbid MFC help out a guy that has depression to get him back on his feet, a guy that put his head on the line every time he ran out on the filed for us (sometimes even bloody landing on it!) a guy that took his health in to his own hands and said that he had to step away to get it right. You fickle little vermin that keep calling it a "dog act" really need to start coming up with your own opinions because this "dog act" comment doesn't fly. If anything this could be a success story for Melbourne - able to get a bloke that was done and dusted and in the lowest point of his career and life and we've been able to assist in getting him right enough to not only look forward in his life but actually get back to doing what he loves - wherever that may be. I continue to support the MFC for assisting Mitch with this and acknowledge we will be rewarded for it in one way or another. COUNT ON IT.
  9. Guys, really, just showing a pretty poor level of maturity here, without pulling out the "I've gone through this or I have a friend" lines - Mitch was genuinely a very sick person and it still surprises me now after the recent news and education pieces following Robin Williams etc. that people still have this outlook on people that have been ill will depression. I'm right there with everyone that it is painful to imaging Mitch playing in other colours next year but we WILL be compensated in one way or another, lets try and be mature enough to say "it's crap that you're not playing for us any more - but it's good to see that you're well." I've got faith that Roosy and PJ will look after us to get us through.
  10. For all to assume that Roosy and Jackson are not all over this is laughable - the intellect that these 2 alone have have got to mean there's something in the works. It seems now that we may have simply have been "fattening up the pig before the market" - Get Clark into some sort of position where he looks a promising proposition to many clubs and then get the trade talk started. If in fact there are some sort of truths behind the Tex Walker / Dangerfield rumours then we need to have some sort of ammunition to trade with - Clark may just give us that - not directly but get into some three way *chuckles* action and it may just become a reality. remember, 2 months ago as far as we knew, this bloke was just going to walk away from the game - now at least we get something for him - and it may be something worth cheering about.
