Now remind me what we used the pick 94 that we traded him for?
We traded him so he could begin training with the Hawks earlier than if he was a DFA iirc

I posted a few months ago in a thread I can't remember that Channel 10 here in Perth reported Wines was only thinking about a short term contract at the most.
I have no doubt that Ollie will not play with Port past the end of next season.
Will he be a Demon?
That's a pretty big statement. I'm fairly confident he will play on with port. Of course he wants a short term contract, he's just turned 21 and would be well aware that by the time he turns 23/24 he could command a giant pay check. Which is precisely why Port want to lock him in long term. There's still a year to go on his contract, Ollie and Port will likely meet in the middle at some point during the year and he will re-sign.

There were also rumours posted here that Zak Jones told Collingwood to get 'effed after what happened to his father

Well if turns out we take 2 talls with pick 3 & 7 - then this tells me that Hogan's headed back to WA and won't re-sign.
This also tells me that you like making rash conclusions

Because i compare the way his physic is to Nat Fyfe. Not saying Parish will become a big bodied beast like fyfe but Parish is very toned and cut atm and players who are built like that somehow seemed to bulk up well enough. You look at someone like Billy Stretch for example probably same build as parish and already we have noticed how significantly bigger he already looks compared to 12 months ago.
Watts Morton and Toumpas struggled to bulk up over the years because they came in wi5h a body shape of a 12 year. All arms and legs and thats it. They never had the footballers build like the Nat Fyfe who was able to bulk up significantly. Maybe also they all had different metabolism aswell.
Not sure I really subscribe to the notion that only certain 'builds' can be 'bulked up'
imo anyone can if they put in the hard work. I also doubt that their metabolisms were different, but even if they were, they have access to doctors/trainers/nutritionists etc 24/7 and I'm sure they could have figured out a diet to fit their needs.

Dean Cox says hello:
Rookie pick # 28
203cm
6 times AA
Premiership Ruckman
He said 'moderate' for a reason
A moderate chance does not equal impossible

I really don't think that's a position that we need to address at the moment. We've got Garlett, Kent, Kennedy, JKH, Bugg and even ANB as options to play there. I'd much rather we went for more mids or even a speculative KPP.
I agree with you but since when was Bugg a forward option?
-
Note that I am basing this on nothing other than what I've read but I don't think we should expect Curnow to become a midfielder at all. Recruit him as a forward, and if it turns out he can play midfield then that's a bonus.

Considering Zac Smith also left the club, GC must really not rate Gorringe

To be honest, Jake Spencer is better than any of that bunch.
Yes, but what happens if both Gawn and Spencer go down? Ideally the ruck department goes deeper than 2 players

Has talent and we do need another ruckman on our list. But has he even been delisted?
Reckon we might pick up an experienced ruck with our first pick in the rookie draft as we're thin for numbers there. If Gorringe has been delisted then for me he joins the list of potentials that includes names like:
Majak Daw
Craig Moller &
Jarred Redden
I could never consider Ayce Cordy or Robert Warnock however...

Thanks for coming.
On the 4th of July you said "Cant take him with pick 4, thats a big stretch I think."
On the 17th of September, you made it clear that you had revised your opinion when you stated "I wouldn't complain with Toumpas and Wines or Stringer either."
Why do you continue to argue this?

Reminds me of a young Jonno Brown

I'd say Weitering is an absolute lock for 1 but what if Brisbane took someone else at 2?
Would we take Schache at 3?
Yes we would definitely take him at 3. Brisbane won't give us that opportunity though
-
If you trade away your first rounder and someone bid in the first round you should lose the player. That would be fair.
And I could do without the condescension
I really can't explain it any better than rpfc did
Yes, I recognise that the system may not sound perfect, but it's a big step in the right direction
Have a look at some of the trades GWS, Sydney and Brissie made in order to get their picks, and you'll see that they've given up a fair bit to get into the draft positions they're in now
Last year we bid pick 2 for Heeney, and they got him for pick 18. In the same situation this year, they would have had to pay roughly pick 5 for him, which is obviously a much fairer system than before
-
I'm interested in Sam Menegola
Seems to have worked on his offensive game immensely
-
looks about 30

Scache will be number 1. Blues would be crazy to pass up a quality big forward .
Weitering is just too good, and the blues also need key defenders
They should be able to pick up a key forward with any one of picks 8,11 or 19 anyway
-
Don't you think that our FD discussed this at length when GC agreed to exchange picks 3 and 6? I am sure that we came to an understanding as to who we both were going to target. (Not so confident about Essendon playing ball though!)
They would have spoken about it, but at the time it wouldn't have had too much meaning given we only knew about pick 10 at the time. I don't think upgrading to pick 7 was planned at that stage, so who GC took at pick 6 wouldn't really have been too much of a worry (as they could go at pick 7/8/9 anyway, before they got to our pick)
-
ok so vandemon, harmes, white and king were our rookies
the first two to be upgraded(?) j.smith takes one of their spots... does that mean we won't use pick50?
Just a minor thing, but Smith won't take one of their spots. He will be on his own list (as he is a category B rookie).

Curnow and parish for sure..
Dons will take mids, suns at 6 the danger
Bombers still need someone to pair with Daniher so I'd expect them to take a forward
-
exactly why both clubs have loaded up on top end picks
apologies, misread your post

Carlscum have set themselves up very well for a shallow draft
As have the Demons....
Shallow does not equal poor top end talent
