  1. I don't believe there ever was an 'agreement'. The theory was that a player could challenge the conditions of their contract and have that contract voided - making him a delisted free agent.
  2. I think some people might be getting their Steven May (contracted to end of 2017) and their Sam Day (out of contract 2016) confused...
  3. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-05-17/roughead-out-indefinitely Very sad and worrying news for Roughy, his family and the club. Hope he responds well to the treatment as is able to get back to full health.
  4. Has she moved to Queensland? If clubs are signing, hopefully this means we've locked Daisy away.
  5. The way you come back from being five goals down is when your forwards kick goals. No one is saying he played the perfect match, most agree the first half was very poor; but he worked his way into the match in the second half and kicked goals when the match was still there to be won.
  6. Reasonable point; however I would see excellent career option for him if he maintains his ties to the MFC, where he's already been playing for 8 years. Would definitely see him retained by the club when when he retires, hopefully 6 concussion-free years from now.
  7. And well they should be; he's been solid as a rock for the last three years. With that said, I'm very surprised that he's a free agent as we delisted him at the end of 2013.
  8. I'm in shock. Without my MFC blinkers on, Vince should have got 2- maybe plea down, but two weeks for reckless, high contact. Jetta... Should have got zero.
  9. My understanding is that is something of an untested hypothetical. In theory, there is a clause that could potentially make them de-listed free agents, but it would definitely be vigorously contested.
  10. Solely dependent on Hurley being allowed to void his contract, as he's already signed up until the end of 2017. Can't see Essendon rolling over and can't see the AFL being too helpful either.
  11. Some would say that a goal in the third along with others at the 12 and 21 minute marks of the fourth could have been 'match winning' times to kick goals. If every forward took their chances like Watts yesterday, we could have run over the top of them.
  12. Thankfully, it sounds like the club is being very sensible/conservative with its approach. Sounds like the knock yesterday was on the mild side but he was kept out as a precaution. Give him all the time he needs. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2016-05-15/demon-angus-brayshaw-concussed-for-second-match-in-succession
  13. In addition... If Roos believed he was going he'd fattening Hogan up for a trade by trotting out the lines like: 'He's the best young player in the league...' 'A required player...' 'Very special, once in a generation talent...'
  14. Agreed. He said when he was appointed that he wasn't going to be a president in the spotlight. Everyone thing appears to be running efficiently and harmoniously under his charge.
  15. Agreed, it all a ruse to get the price up and add a year. If he's asking for four and they're offering 2... it'll be three. If they're offering 300,000 and he's asking for 500,000, surprise, surprise! Happens every year.
  16. I think we've had a pretty generous draw, however we have played interstate twice and played the top of the table team along with the 5th placed team.
  17. Very good news. Would cost us next to nothing and he is a serviceable, big bodied, competitive insurance policy until our ruck stocks develop.
  18. Agreed. Even bigfooty of all places wasn't discussing it last night while Demonland burned. We seem to be the only ones freaking out about this.
  19. Of course he's going to say it's not about the money- who, in their right mind, would say to the media: 'My next contract is gonna all be about the money.' The media line that every player has given for the past month is 'the MFC is a great place to be.' That's the current PR focus of the club.
  20. Essendon, Carlton and Melbourne were well into Oliver by November. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-31/morrish-medallist-clayton-oliver-adds-top10-twist http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/draft/afl-draft-2015-melbourne-considers-clayton-oliver-with-first-pick-plays-like-ollie-wines/news-story/7b4555f328ea9161f23cd8083ee76fe5 http://m.essendonfc.com.au/news/2015-11-17/the-contenders-part-one https://mobile.twitter.com/EssendonFC/status/666503589825806337
  21. Hogan being allowed to visit home occasionally is often cited as one of the reasons he and his family are very happy with the MFC.
  22. The idea of discussing football on Facebook is obscene.
  23. I would have thought it was sarcasm coupled with some average journalism.
  24. The wording of the article is fine, the misquoting in the OP is what has caused the confusion.
