  1. Google 'Who is the real Simon Goodwin' Never know what you might find...
  2. FWIW the training gear they're wearing at the moment is plastered with NB.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong... but is it now all over..?
  4. That's good to hear. Thought he looked a bit too bulky last year, similar to Patton in some ways.
  5. Am I right in saying the guys who played in the VFL finals get a few more weeks off due to their longer season..?
  6. Am I right in saying the guys who played in the VFL finals get a few more weeks off due to their longer season..?
  7. Trengove also posted a pic of him training there- great so see our guys going and extra yard. A player having a few beers in the offseason is such a non issue- just ask every senior player that attended Lyndon Dunn's wedding on the weekend. If Trac was blind drunk and ending each night in a Bali lock-up... then we'd have something to worry about. If a Bintang in October is the worst that he's got then he's professionalism personified!
  8. He is well aware of his mental health issues, it was the reason he stepped back from football in the first place: https://www.google.com.hk/amp/s/amp.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/richmond/reece-mckenzie-takes-leave-from-richmond-to-deal-with-mental-health-issues/news-story/eebd6d4839e47c77e4b81a47c0667471?client=safari Clearly a young guy having a very hard time of things. Regardless of the motive or accuracy of the post, I hope he's now getting the support he needs.
  9. Scathing and kinda unprofessional. Looks like it's a big no though.
  10. I kinda agree with the AFL. If Hawthorn traded in an additional second round pick, they should be able to on-trade this as long as they retain their own.
  11. An appropriate sanction is delivered...
  12. The AFL meets to hear evidence...
  13. I could possibly share your sympathy if he took responsibility for his actions and didn't try to, once again, run away from them. First he ran to Gub, then to Lambert, then to migraine, then to crazy girlfriend.
  14. I think our depth is massively overrated. All things goin well injurywise next year, our best 22 looks fantastic. Some bad luck comes out way, our list drops away quickly. Barlow is in our top 25 players; insurance, pressure and experience.
  15. He's a freebie- grab him with both hands! As great as our kids are, they are still kids. Battle hardened and prolific, AFL standard onballer is available; take him.
  16. No from me. There are many reasons why AFL footy just isn't for him.
  17. For what it's worth, Melbourne's fixtures for round one since 2000: 2000 vs Richmond MCG 2001 vs Richmond MCG 2002 vs Hawthorn MCG 2003 vs Hawthorn MCG 2004 vs Hawthorn MCG 2005 vs Essendon MCG 2006 vs Carlton Docklands/Etihad 2007 vs StKilda MCG 2008 vs Hawthorn MCG 2009 vs Nth Melbourne MCG 2010 vs Hawthorn MCG 2011 vs Sydney MCG 2012 vs Brisbane MCG 2013 vs Port Adelaide MCG 2014 vs StKilda Etihad 2015 vs Gold Coast MCG 2017 vs GWS MCG We have had a simply unbelievable run of home opening matches at our home ground this century.
  18. Some over reactions here I feel... neither team played finals last year and it's a 50/50 whether we will get a home game round one. We've had a great run of MCG matches in the opening round over the last 10 years. It'll be a good match; Melbourne by 20.
  19. I always like to see players with a higher number retain it- make it their own. Jamar being a recent example of that; wouldn't be a lot of All Australians with the number 40 on their backs. I would agree that 31 does seem to be cursed... wouldn't object to Harmes moving to that number as he's a lifelong Dees supporter.
  20. I would contend that Jetta would get a run in pretty much every back six in the league.
  21. I don't see anyone on our list challenging Jetta's position in the 18. The role he plays for us is a match winner; in so much that we don't get carved up by small forwards anymore. Until another player can do that; he's a certainty to play every match he's fit for. (Can't believe we almost lost him a few years back - Rawlings earnt his money that day)
  22. Looks like he has some talent. Hopefully this can translate to the big stage.
  23. Retention of players, not just Hogan. This is the first year in a long time we haven't had established players walk for greener pastures. Though I enjoy it, it's great to not have to read up on potential draftees this year.
  24. As a Dees fan living overseas o am so strongly against this. My only way to watch the games is on TV/online and the fawning over the 'returning heroes' will be too much to bear! (Even with the sound off) Would rather play them round 10 when the emotions gone and their aging legs start to ache.
