I really wanna see Trengove play in the seniors, even just one more time. You could call it 'wanting to get closure' on a very dark and challenging time for the club. If he plays and stinks it up, great, I'll never mention him again and he can happily play out his 20s with his mates in a quiet suburban league. But part of me yearns for that promise and potential that we saw in those early years to be fulfilled.

The Weid's struggles are the downside to 'getting games into the kids'. He wasn't ready and when he needed some time away from the seniors, he didn't get it.

I don't think Tippet would be expensive at all. While contracted to the end of 2018, I think Sydney would pay some of his contract just to get him off the books and free up a bit of cash for Jones, reid, etc. Don't think he's put a good season together since leaving Adelaide; him and Tex were tearing opposition teams apart in 2011-21, but he's been a shadow of that player since.

Quality player, but i don't think he plays his best football as a defender; he's blossomed the last two years as a follower. I doubt he'll leave Port as he had every chance to a few years back when they were at their absolute worst and he didn't take it. If they've managed their cap, he'll stay. Adelaide however haven't managed their cap and May could leave for a better chance of success; therein lies our two best opportunities.

This. It would take so much strength and courage to acknowledge this and seek the help you need. Tragic that so many still suffer in silence.

That's a pretty unpleasant stat.. perhaps every time the ball is near him, he's the one that wins it?? (every time except for three)

Still can't quite figure him out as a player... Just seems to be in the right place at the right time. He's an exciting prospect starting to string a few games together.

Good to see credit where credit's due for Melksham.

People are underestimating the effect of the wind on the kicking for goal. Looks like a very strong one.

My understanding was that he played his best football under Hird as a on-baller/half-forward. It was then Thompson/Goodwin who started playing him off half-back.

I'm happy to see Melksham come in for Salem, however I think Melk is being played out of position at senior level. By all reports he is a prolific and attacking weapon at VFL level, but seems to struggle to read the play from the half-backline in the seniors. I know there is a huge jump from VFL standard, but I'm yet to see any of these traits in his AFL games. Would like to see what he'd contribute from the wing or onball.

I'll put my hand up as a doubter, but he'll win me over with more performances like on the weekend. Seems to be playing AVB role and has had a lot asked of him early in his career - especially with Kent having a season to forget. Has a decent basic skillset and a bit of x-factor about him. Needs to get on a bit run and find his groove at this level.

Utter garbage. What Salem needed to do was grab a handful or his jumper, then beat him to death with an iron bar.

May would be a fantastic get and is more primed for an immediate impact than Lever is. However, we may have picked the wrong year to poach from Gold Coast. They're going to demand a lot for him as he's a co-captain of the club, a very good player and vital for their structure. Brisbane and GC are going to have to put their foot down one day and make a stand or else players and other clubs are going to continue to pick away at their carcass. Every year there's a lot of talk from them, but it never gets seen through. I'm not saying we have to overpay, but I feel we'll have to pay what he's worth. First rounder (10-14) and a player (ANB, Kent, Stretch)

It's a concern that our gameplan seems to match Etihad, better than our home ground. We are yet to play anywhere near our best football at the 'G but the sample of matches is still probably too small for us to say there is a definite correlation. The fact of the matter is, we have been in a winnable position for all of these matches this year. We are yet to win an ugly, close fought match; I'm not convinced the location is what's losing it for us.

I dislike the turncoat immensely... but Howe would walk into our back six.

He's a good footballer. Too many overthink these things- good footballers play good football.

Love Fitz and very happy to see him get a game. This comes as no shock to many, but something of a surprise to me... I really thought Vickery would produce some good footy for the Hawks this year. Quite to the contrary, he's been terrible.

He is worth much, much more than what we'd receive.
