  1. I wasn't convinced their high scoring game style would hold up under September pressure; but so far this game's quite open. Imagine how easily they could have dispatched WC if they really wanted to...
  2. Could the Australia and New Zealand Association of Manila have succeeded where so many others have failed!?!
  3. Played very well in the finals the year before. He clearly hasn't got his head straight at the moment and he's coming off two poor years. However, he's an All Australian with prodigious talent who's shown that when he's 'on' he has the potential to be one of the best in the biz. This could be a classic case of buy low, sell high. Would be interested to see what the Doggies would want for him.
  4. Up until his injury he was having a very good year - on top of a great 2016. Teasing is the right word for it. A fit and firing Watts makes us a four goal better team; when he's 'off', he's a liability. I'm conflicted, as I think many supporters are. If success comes, I'd love to see him there as a key part to it. However if the offer is very good... perhaps both parties could benefit from the change.
  5. Not saying I wanted him traded, just thought where there's smoke... Very happy to have Frosty.
  6. Quite surprised considering all the trade chatter. Well done to him and the club. He's shown a lot of potential in what is still a very young career.
  7. I think that's why Geelong is not rushing to sign him.
  8. What's the 'knock on him'? Any idea what's stopped him being drafted the last few years or is he new to footy??
  9. A good friend of my wife's was playing in the AFLW last season and was courted by the MFC and one other club. She 's been retired from footy for a couple of years, back cameback when the league got up and running. The MFC were very keen on her signing on, but she chose the other club as the MFC had drafted a 'very strong team for the future' and she didn't think she'd get much of a run. There's a lot to get excited about with our womens list.
  10. Very lazy player who often finds himself in space due to the fact he doesn't follow a man wen out of possession. Has had 22 tackles and 15 1%s from 17 games this year. We often criticise Watts and Gartlett for their defensive efforts: Jack Watts 42 tackles from 16 games. Jeff Gartlett 74 tackles from 21 games.
  11. Melksham had an outstanding year, when you consider he missed last season (for reasons I can't recall). The first third of the year Goodwin played him out of position. When he was moved forward of centre, he was consistently amongst our best players. Then pick 29 for and All Australian is a huge win for us.
  12. I think every year of his career he's had an injury with the exception of 2014 (his best season btw). Broke or fractured his leg at GWS I believe..?? At the Dees, he's either had a good preseason followed by an injury he's carried (2015,2016) or he's been injured preseason and missed final training blocks (2017). It's not necessarily an excuse for a lot of his issues, but it certainly doesn't help. The common denominator in any player being interviewed about their best year is 'I had a full preseason'.
  13. He's a definite keeper for mine. Regularly amongst our bests in the first halves of games when the heat is on and often in the bests when we lose. Doesn't go missing.
  14. Was on a flight during the match... decided to skip the replay.
  15. Would be worth a discussion if you could provide a source from the time stating that Martin was the better, or even equal prospect. Scully and Trengove, then daylight was the consensus at the time.
  16. I wouldn't have thought we'd be too deeply into Josh Kelly. Nth (amongst others) appear obsessively hell-bent on selling everything to get him over. It'd be irresponsible of us to try to out bid that sort of lunacy.
  17. An amazing year - especially considering his interrupted start to the season. I remember him saying he was very frustrated with the club fitness and medical team for holding him back, but full credit to them as well! On a side note... Clayton Oliver would not have looked out of place on that bench instead of Matt Crouch.
  18. What happened to him? Played unbelievable football at the tail end of last year, gets a mention from Malcolm Turnbull at the UN, then gets injured and is never heard of again...
  19. Is the 'real' reason Martin left public knowledge or is it something more sinister..?
  20. I must admit I haven't watched a single Nth match this year... showed a bit of promise in the past though.
  21. I would only consider McVeigh if another veteran was to make way for him. Bernie has looked a shadow of his former self for the majority of the year... will wait and see how his contract plays out. I think Vince, Lewis and McVeigh in the same team is one too many.
  22. I was a little off the mark, but it's still garbage... https://mobile.twitter.com/AFLTradeWhisper/status/782868612944060416?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fdemonland.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcore%26module%3Dsystem%26controller%3Dembed%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fafltradewhisper%2Fstatus%2F782868612944060416
  23. Didn't he accidentally out himself as Mike Sheahan's son last year??
  24. Same guy that announced Jesse Hogan's retirement from footy last year??
