Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
ManDee replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
On a totally unrelated topic and in the wrong place, the half forward line at Casey looks pretty good. I reckon we will give those Tassie Bombers a flogging next year. -

Between you and me, I don't think he will miss you. And you couldn't miss a parting shot. I sometimes disagree with BB, we often get stuck in, but he regularly has valid points of view to which i often agree. -
Former number 1 draft pick. Huge potential .Similar stats this year. Is he better than Scully? I say yes. No way we will get another deal like Scully.

I don't think WADA would be happy with that! -
Schwarter is a Demon. I reckon he wants to put the wind up Watts. See if he can lift and show something in the last few rounds.
-
You should compare Watts to Minson at same age or current season. Watts comes out well on top in stats terms except hit outs. Max Gawn looks better this season to Minson. And while we look at Minsons stats try 56.9% effective disposals Even Jordie McKenzie is 76.7% effective. Minson is a player that the Bulldogs fans pull their hair out about. I would not swap Watts for Minson. Agree too early on Broomhead mind you if you compare at the same age as Watts, Watts kills him on stats.

As may be obvious, I am a Watts supporter. However I do not think that I could call his performances solid. As a character and human being I think he most probably is a solid person. I expect more from him and believe we will get it ( a la Goddard) He is worth more than pick 20. I would not swap him for a pick. I would only consider a player.

Permission to come aboard skipper.

The last 13 pick 20's Back to 2000 Leslie Broomhead Crozier Pitt Fyfe Swift Notte Hislop Bower Polo Butler Minson Elstone The odds are not one in six, they are much worse.

Is anyone sick of my signature? I am happy to remove it.

Yes BB but the value of pick 20 is a constant. The steak knives change the value of the deal but you must include the cost of the steak knives. 20=20 20+ x = 20+ x Watts is worth more than pick 20 and the problem with picks is the intangibility. Watts for Fyffe Yes Watts for Tom Swift NO Edit - Spelling

The value of pick 20 IS pick 20. You may trade it, you may pool it with other picks You can do with it what you wish, but the end of the day its value is pick 20. Someone will eventually use it and guess what they will get? Yes that's right PICK 20. To get more than its value is to presume that another team will pay overs for it. And the last time I looked pick 20 was not a huge bargaining chip. Edit- Typo
-
Yes, but the currency of pick 20 is what you get. And my list shows you what you get for pick 20.
-
I compare him to Nic Nac for obvious reasons. I compare Nic Nat to other ruckmen.
-
Here are some names to ponder, Jack Leslie Timothy Broomhead Hayden Crozier Jayden Pitt Nathan Fyfe Tom Swift The last six pick 20 in the draft. Other than Fyfe would you swap Watts for them?
-
Just a reminder, this year , per game Jack 19 games Nic Nat 18 games Jamar 14 games Gawn 6 games This year, Jack Watts Nic Nat Jamar Max Gawn Kicks 9.2 4.1 4.6 5.0 Handballs 8.4 8.6 4.4 6.3 Disposals 17.5 12.6 9.0 11.3 Marks 5.0 1.5 1.8 5.0 Effective % 79.4 66.7 65.6 75.2 Clangers 1.8 2.3 1.7 1.5 Hitouts 0.1 21.8 33.8 14.7 So Watts is not a failure, Nic Nat is no superstar and Gawn is great value for money. NB Gawn is 2 years younger than Nic Nat Edit - added Jamar and Gawn

And after the contract extension and the million dollar year off he still can't shut up. No one will ever trust him again. Good. -

Yes, and Essendon extended his contract after he received the penalty. -

Hird's reputation is down the toilet. I have two Essendon supporting friends that will not support the club if Hird coaches next year. I think his problem is the more he talks the deeper it gets. We all know that when his lips move he is lying. Just get rid of him. -

Essendon are hurling wet lettuce indiscriminately at 5 paces. Meanwhile ASADA have their finger on the trigger and are going to pull it. Don't think the Chewbakker defence will take much more, -

My experience is that many of the listed heights are wrong. I am 184cm I am the same height as Judd I reckon heights are measured with boots on standing on a brick! Edit: John Nichols was also 189! -
Been there. You can't wash off that dirty feeling.
-
Are you a paid up Melbourne member? If not you are not a supporter you are a follower. As far as your gambling goes, you win either way.
-
Quote your source. This kind of outlandish statement starts wars. If you're not prepared to name names then retract immediately! I would have thought 3 times a week average and twice below average? I say bring back carrier pigeons.

You can't be serious, we were crap at tanking, we almost got caught. Carlton were much better, an assistant coach admitted it and they still did not get charged. I prefer the late season list management, which may inadvertently lead to losing the odd game ensuring a better draft pick. (The bottom six sides all do it)
