bandwagon, im not bagging miller out. what doesnt make sense is that you concluded that daniel bell is two years younger than miller and that because bell is playing good football we should give miller more of a go. i like miller and i dont want him gone. but he will never be a superstar. servicable. good performer, possibly, but superstar? never.

yeah the same deal last week with miller kicking 6 and newton getting two. sautner had a quiet one allowing the others to step up a bit (dunn got one, but apparently did some other nice things)... it will be interesting to see how they go again this week, and if miller plays the same full forward role he played last week.

you miss my point. you can have any opinion you want, as long as that position is justified. your argument that 'we cant bag him because he is a melbourne player' is ridiculous. if his kicking is poor, his kicking is poor, no matter who he plays for. you turn a blind eye to faults because players play for melbourne. either you know nothing about football or your passion has blinded you. i think its great that you support your players but that doesnt mean you have to carry on like a pork chop every time a bit of criticism goes their way.

no not to beat richmond but we need him in the team and playing well- getting used to playing afl, not vfl again. there is no point just bringing him in for the big games, we need him to get some match fitness at afl level. find the groove, if you will. he is a big game player, he knows how to win, something we are not great at (that sounds stupid, but what i mean is look at how we struggling in those recent close ones, byron is a seasoned winner), and he will perform if we play finals... he is also one to have up and firing in the port game at aami, a must win game if we want to play finals and, we struggle there and his presence will only help our cause.

if we a re serious about having a tilt at the finals he will play a full game for sandy this week then come back into the dees side. he is one player who will help us win games. if we have decided the season is a write off he will stay at sandy til he earns it fully... this all goes out the window if he is not fit

bandwagon, that makes no sense at all...miller is older, which means he has had longer than bell - and by deduction must have had more chances. bell is two years younger and has played only 39 matches to millers 84. miller has had DOUBLE the opportunities bell has had and hasnt dominated at afl level at any stage. yes he kicked 3 in 10 minutes against the tiges once, and he has had a number of good serviceable games this year, but we lost those games. and he was really our only key tall forward. i like miller and think he has a lot to offer, but he has played the best part of 100 games and we still dont know if there is any chance he'll make it, and we don't know what position to play him in. *shakes head*

strange that he holds down the positions of ruck coach and media manager. i thought he was the ruck coach, this was confirmed recently on 'ology, but i cant find it on the mfc website anywhere...can anyone confirm it? also if he does have these dual roles its not a surprise that the vic clubs are so far behind the interstaters is it?

why was ND talking to our ruck coach about giving him a game??

im not so sure about that rhino. playing up forward you can afford to be selfish. you are trying to get the ball, and if not, get it through the posts. defenders need to be watching the ball, their man, and other men. i think a natural ability to defend is less common than the ability to attack, and if he misses it their is less pressure that if he stuffs up and lets through a goal...

re didnt retire til the end of the '99 season, he was born september '67 so he wouldve been 31 during that season. but in '99 he only played 2 games, '97 5 games and '96 6 games (21 games in '98), so at the end of the 95 season (effectively his last cept the comeback year) he was 28 it would have been interesting to see the development of the mfc if he was fit those years. would he have been playing in the 2000 GF? would we have made it? would neitz stayed at CHB?

lower back tightness worries me. that could be heaps of things and there could be no way to fix it...unless they know whats causing it it is a problem...

sorry my mistake, i assumed it had to be deliberate out of bounds. how can they possibly pay a free kick for not gibing the ball back to the umpire? players throw it away all the time...tiem off is called when the ball is called out of bounds so it cant be time wasting...that is the perfect example of an umpiring enjoying his control over the game too much. it was clearly done out of frustration, not in an attempt to slow the game down and it didnt make that much difference to anything. what a joke.

with all due respect id be worried if any player was a poor uncontested mark. and his kicking for goal is woeful (in 84 games he has kicked 31 goals 23 behinds (57% accuracy, well down on the league average)), he struggles to kick over 40 metres. .

yes it does. you cannot post something on you tube you dont own the copyright too...all the family guy episodes are in 5 minute blocks because you tube made a limit on the length of the file you can upload to stop people putting full shows up.

fwiw that is why i asked if he played his usual role or not. i would be astounded if he ever kicked 6 goals playing how he and where he does for mfc. i have said the same things a number of times regarding playing at FF. i think he looks better when he is played closer to goal. evidence of this: when neitz and robbo were out who looked more comfortable and played some of his best footy for the club? add these two back into the side and you force miller further away from goals. this exposes his weaknesses, he cant kick long and he tries to handball off too much. i thought bate played the role miller usually plays this week but he didnt handball as much. i think millers poor kicking has killed his confidence. when he is closer to goal he will actually play not unlike neita and i reckon he is a chance there in the long term. from all reports newton is more a CHF and bate can easily be played in the midfield so we will need a FF replacement.

must be dissapointing for bartram. if those three are struggling id like to see them told to just take 10 weeks off and do preseason with us, get themselves right first. we need them on the park next year, fit and firing, all 3 get in our best 22, prob 18. RE yze jaded, when he missed the first game he had scans for OP (which i found strange considering it is occuring at this stage of his career, maybe he caught it from moloney?) they said the scans came back showing it wasnt bad at all, but they didnt say it wasnt OP. mild OP is a pain in the ass. i get the feeling yze might have played if daveys knee didnt get up but he was otherwise going to drop out...
