  1. i think most of those drugs are considered performance enhancing if taken on a match day -amphetamines speed you up. they alter your mental state...and help your body perform differently... if it was an in competition test that was failed, these players would be suspended immediately...we are talking about non-competition testing...
  2. considering we have played 39 players this season and he was one of only 4 players to play 21 or 22 games...
  3. im pretty sure the umpire handed him the ball and told him it was his free for the retaliation, the other ump came in and overruled him though... i thought juice had good reason to be annoyed today. 2-3 times he was 1 out in the goal square, only players in the 50 and team mates didnt kick it to him, if he was a more senior teammate they would have, and juice is a key forward...and all of these times they fluffed scoring the goal... he had a couple of leads ignored...and got dragged at one stage when he had been doing nothing wrong. he was then thrown onto the wing because 'he was struggling to get into it'. he is a key forward. kick it to him and let him do his thing.
  4. interesting point. i noticed similar things, however i thought the umpires were way too aware of dunn yesterday. how many times are mclean, bruce and trapper help and pushed around packs without getting a free? how many times is neitz dragged to the ground allowing him to only get one hand up for the mark without getting a free. the umpires paid dunn too much attention yesterday for my liking... however, if dunn is going to play that role, he needs to learn how to do it and look subtle. once you draw attention to it, you need to back off for a bit... regarding dunn as a player, he seems really footy smart, he has all the athletic abilities, so its up to him what he becomes. i look forward to watching his development, but yes he could be a very good player eventually...

    Bode

i wouldnt say he is proof. i would say he is a good example of someone who will rise to his level. a 2 months ago he was wallowing in sandy 2nds...injuries got him a go and he has shown promise...it will be back to sandy for him where he will learn to apply what he has learnt, and hopefully he can be a successful player.
  6. Edited by mod.
  7. inconsistency, inability to shake a tag, the fact that he may be worht a lot to other clubs...
  8. nah newton wont get anything for that...it was late, nothing else...worth a 50. did you see that the umpire actually handed him the ball and told him he had a 50m penalty for the retaliation before the other umpire overruled him?
  9. - the fact that we still beat them while the umpires gave them an absolute dream run... - the fact that trav and brock could run around without being tagged (even though trav had 42 freakin touches)
  10. if you had've headed down last night i heard that some of demonlands finest might have been floating around
  11. you hear it a little in terms of amplifiers (guitar), they come in two main sorts, valve or solid state (transistor)...
  12. i have only read about it, but i remember reading that the roar when the hawks won was so great that the doggies players thought they had lost, but didnt hear the siren go, a couple of players even stopping for a moment...
  13. i agree with you nasher. ben holland was actually a listed lion and was traded by them so...
  14. thought so, miller was drafted in 2001 yeah? they would no each other from way back...
  15. what club is miller from?
  16. lol calebrase boy good post and point well made at the end. i think your post goes to show that while there are a whole heap of stuff wrong with many of the players on the list, a number of them have more going for them than ferg atm...
  17. interesting that off those players i reckon at least 7 will go on to have long careers, while my jury is still out on buckley, bode and garland... if we have 7 debutantes in 2 years, all who go on to be best 22 material we will have done well...

    2007 Draft

but with a massive turning circle...which makes me think he is a FF not a CHF...
  19. take a few moments of your time and read back through this thread. no one is saying that this is going to be right. but it is as much a guide as the herald sun or the age player of the year comps. and in this case a single person has watched all the games, reducing the error, but perhaps more subjective. no one is telling you to put your life savings on it. in fact the only line about betting was in response to another poster querying the odds. if you dont like the thread, or you dont like betting, dont read it.
  20. ridiculous post. jolly is a second string ruckman at a successful club. he wanted to leave. we had a choice, him or white. i still think we made the better decision. bishop wanted to leave to go home. he was a reasonable player but never a star. simmonds has been good, but we lost him because he wanted to go and be first ruck elsewhere... poyas? has poyas ever excelled on an afl list??? nick gill played for us 5 years ago. should we have kept him? would keeping him have meant we havnt had the draft picks to get bartram last year?
  21. pretty sure we said that this may have come in response to not having a member of the panel with coaching experience...
  22. and here are a few of DR4's bets from last year
  23. arem, im not sure why you are attacking this thread, it is just a bit of fun and it gives people who havnt seen other games an interesting insight... here is last years DR4 brownlow results. if you were really interested you could of search the forums yourself. perhaps you could go and get us a list of the 2006 brownlow results so we can compare them? 2006 DR4 Brownlow you will notice his line too 'hope you enjoyed it'. this is about fun, not about being perfect or right...

    2007 Draft

interesting considering we win the hit outs most weeks yet lose the clearances? suggests the mids arent doing their bit... yet i agree with your theory. a good tall always beats a good small, as the saying goes. realistically you must pick the best player available, however if you rank 2 players very similar then pick the tall...they are harder to come by and if the players are equally as good will be more valuable in the long run...
  25. or just weigh him...if he weighs the same as a duck he must be a witch!!!!
