can you post the email on demonland as an open letter? was it as good as some of your posts on here?
-
thats because we've done nothing over the past 10 years to stir that passion...

Mrs Judd's new hit single "Golden Facilities"

hows your mate and his cash? is he feeling a bit shaky now? -
sounds good sylvinator. the reason i suggest the last tilt is for neitz, who has been a great servant of the club. it will be sad to see him go out in a losing team, getting smashed, as we bring kids through. and he deserves better. and remember, the current list got us close for a couple of years before this year, and t hasnt changed that much (only gotten better). and the other thing is this year was hard. very hard on all of us. could you stand that for another 2 years?
-
nah it sounds like we're a little kid who is proud that we convinced him that we werent as bad as he thought we are. that we were pretty pumped to come second not last. they dont realise that anything after first loses. port adelaide didnt finish second, they lost.

cntrl f5 it is, i just changed mine back too...to be honest, i like this a lot better...
-
do a hard refresh, the old shift f5, or ctrl f5 or something like that. then it works

i see two paths. we either have one last tilt at the flag for neitz or we build for the future... if we have one last shot we have two options; trade for next year - a bit of pace in the midfield or another midfield goal kicker, or we just keep our picks and continue developing kids while trying to win games. if we decide to build players like robbo and TJ can be traded for top 20 draft picks. we try and get 2-3 first round picks and 2 second round picks (5 in the top 25 perhaps) and draft for the future, similar to what hawthorn did a couple of years ago. over the next 24 months neitz, mcdonald, white, and holland will leave, while robbo, bruce and TJ will be getting close to retirement... personally i dont think we'll do it next year, even though we could get close. i wouldnt be annoyed if we traded away senior players for early draft picks and tried to get another KPD and a quick mid or two...along with getting meesan we will have sured up a number of gaps, but there will prob be some short term pain. i dont mind having a tilt, but not at the expense of the top round picks. hold 4 and 21, but dont trade players, no worries.

Sumich turns down Blues if they were using him to get judd its blown up. he's decided to stay in the west.

i have no doubt possible trades are discussed earlier than the actual week itself. however can you remember those discussion ever being made public? there are more noises being made than previous years imo...
-
haha deers mate, yze_magic has you there. if you cant work out who should be dropped in favour of petterd why should yze_magic? he says the kid is a gun...he didnt say he was our best player, and he didnt say he was starting 22. you find where you should put him in and then i'm sure you'll have a discussion...
-
its a tough one. petterd has looked better, but frawley is a tall KPD, much harder to come by. frawleys development this year was stunted by the early injury...
-
interesting, who would you rather trade, frawley or petterd? i like them both, petterd has shown more at this stage, but KP backs are hard to find, and if frawley comes on i think he will be more valuable in the long run, if not a better player.
-
i doubt it rhino, but those trades werent being discussed the week before grand final day were they? byron picket and ben holland were virtually getting dumped from their respective teams when we traded for them, and those discussion appeared to happen within trade week. we might have enquired, but i bet we enquired to the the clubs not to the players. regarding sewell, i am not privy to the inner workings of this one, but i believed that hawthorn wanted ferguson, were willing to offer sewell and ferguson said no. sounds like we didnt approach anyone, but hawthorn approached us. in this case we have been proactive in attempting to secure the services of a young uncontracted player nearly two weeks before trade week. can you ever remember that happening before?

need some one to answer a question...please

sorry just to clarrify, im not saying that we've done better than richmond, or that richmond made a mistake with that deal. what i am saying that looking back, thus far we have perhaps got the better value out of the draft pick. we couldnt have got brown, nor did we want him. but looking back, there were no clubs imo that made better use of pick 20 that year, the only one coming close was richmond and to date it is an interesting comparison, given they had to trade pick 6 also. -
if there were noises about him thinking of leaving, it sounds like the mfc has contacted him, and told him we're interested. not typical mfc behavious is it? when was the last time we took initiative like that before trade week?
-
no afl assistant but remember they do get heaps of profits from home games at KP where they sell all seats as reserved seats for $30 a pop at least. they also have had around $20 million (i believe) in funding from afl, and state and local governments to the redevelopment of KP. that being said, congrats. they deserved the premiership, they played great footy, and they really are a good bunch of guys.
-
we have offered him a contract, and he has nominated us. he has also been a bit injured, he was expected to make some noise this year and come on alright...

no worries, when i started doing a bit of research i found it was pretty interesting...ive always wondered about that pick 20 deal too but in hindsight, when you sit down and crunch the numbers we actually have come out pretty well, contrary to what people commonly believe. and the nathan brown comparison was interesting aswell. could holland have been a more valuable player for us than nathan brown has been for richmond, considering the brown suffered a terrible injury he hasnt really re-payed what they bought him for has he? -
sorry rhino, when i said CC i meant connoly. CAC was going no where! i spose i better be more careful with that in the future lol regarding the delistings, yes it is that time of year, but in all honesty those players should have faced the music well before 2007. they were not part of a group that was going to win us a premiership. he made a hard decision based on popularity etc which the previous coaching regime didnt/couldnt/wouldnt. for mine the big judgement will be his match day coaching, which i think you are waiting for as well. i think ND was poor on match days and DB hasnt come in with trumpets blaring about his match days. he is a 'developmental and teaching' coach, remember? so it will be interesting to see how that translates to match day coaching. if he has a plan B he is one up on the previous competition. if he experiments with certain players, and considers putting proven goal kickers (green, davey et al) back in the forward line occasionally he will go along way to coaching well. is it DB that is causing the shake ups around the club? or is it that with ND gone, everyone else has realised they need to jump into gear, or they are next? either way there is an air of change about the place, and if we are successful it will be DB who gets the kudos (maybe with judd)...
-
bate? really? why is he close to your untouchables? as much as i like him, i would loose him before newton, and perhaps frawley (key defender is much more valuable imo).
-
small little post. no big noting, but could well be the most accurate prediction of judds future yet. if someone is willing to put their money where their mouth is, and have a reasonable source, i stand up and listen. that being said this is an internet forum... but you've got my hopes up a bit.
