  1. Ahern is a good user of the football.
  2. 2 years ago It would've been a longshot that Collingwood move Thomas and Shaw on. Pendles probably is that player Collingwood build their side around, but I like your suggestion. Collingwood appear to be stagnant, it would be worth at least asking the question to Pendles.
  3. That would tempt them, South Australian's rated Toumpas VERY highly. I actually think that is a good deal for Adelaide. Toumpas will be a quality AFL player. As good as Dangerfield is, if he wanted out, that is a good deal.
  4. In fairness to Jones and Jack, Mitchell would be ahead of most blokes in the league. Kid is a hell of a talent, just an absolute ball magnet. He'd automatically be our second best player behind Jones.
  5. Jack Grimes will get dropped to the reserves.
  6. Mitchell is being pushed out of the strongest side in the competition, and probably the strongest side we've seen in a few years. Toumpas is being pushed out of a side that probably wouldn't even beat Sydney's reserve side.
  7. IMO Davey, Dawes and Clark were overpaid. Based on performance I still think they were overpaid. Should we of tried to entice a couple of youngsters for 600k, probably. Whatever we did do - hasn't worked. I have no problem paying players big money if they are worth it. But I don't agree paying them overs, when there are players from others teams being paid unders. For what we paid Clark and Dawes, we could've thrown at players like Sloane, Parker, those types of guys - who would've came much cheaper. Vic guys who actually lean towards coming home, not blokes who stop into MFC on their way home to WA.
  8. We've overpaid enough players in recent times - and none of them have really produced. Davey, Dawes, Clark, and now Frawley. 600k, keep walking. I'd rather pay a couple players from GWS 300k each - both would have more potential than Frawley.
  9. Good target for the right trade. I wouldn't let go of a first rounder for him.
  10. I think Durdin is the pick of the big men. Durdin has a bit of X-factor about him. Versatile player, can take a grab, can leap, has the right attributes. But I'd still lean towards Petracca or Brayshaw at our pick.
  11. I wouldn't write Toumpas off just yet. We'd still want something of quality of we were to give Jimmy away this early.
  12. Tom Mitchell is easily worth a top 5 pick. He'd be our second best midfielder.
  13. Salem will carve it up, as he always does in the midfield.
  14. If we believe what we see, then Ahern is a top 5 pick. Did he just have a good champs? Not sure.. But either way, he looks absolute class. I like him, I like the suggestion of trading away 4 and 24 - for 11, 15 and 31. Ahern and Laverde could be around that mark. I also liked Lucas Webb, he was ultra clean, It would be a dream to land him late
  15. I'd rate Boyd as a better prospect than Patton - they are both unproven players. In saying that I think Tom Boyd is the better footballer and athlete. Boyd will be a star, easily worth our pick inside the 5.
  16. I would gladly give up the Frawley compo for Tom Mitchell, he is an absolute star.
  17. We'd need a miracle to happen for Tapscott to have trade value. Be lucky to get a 4th rounder Blease,
  18. Caro is spot on in regards to Essendon. Just shine that spotlight Caro - and don't let these cheats distract us from the issue. Finally Caro is useful for something. Drugs in sport are not to be tolerated on ANY level. Sadly the AFL has enabled such behavior. Now the AFL can concentrate on more financial streams of income - like encouraging gambling.
  19. Actually they are in this mess because they didn't get rid of their senior players earlier. I think it was just terrible list management. St Kilda cashed up on early draft picks in the last 90's - early 2000's. Their list underachieved, this was until they made consecutive grand finals in 2009-2010. In 2010, they were lucky to get there, IMO their list was playing above themselves. Granted they nearly won and decided to top up in 2011. The problem with St Kilda is that at this time, they had no youth coming through. So while Ross Lyon wanted a flag and to top up - he appeared to neglect blooding youth. 2011 was a failure and Lyon left at the end of it. Now personally I didn't see them that strong in 2011, I didn't see a need to sell youth down the drain. Ross opted to go for a flag, neglect youth, he didn't get it - so he leaves. At the end of 2011 season, Ross leaves St Kilda with no coach and no club directions. St Kilda should've seriously considered offloading Riewoldt to the GC for 2011. Should've floated Montagna and Dal Santo for trade at the end of 2010 or even 2011. Goddard should've assumed the captaincy and taken on a highly talented bunch of kids. If St Kilda had of planned ahead, they'd now be in a great position - looking forward to a decade of challenging for finals. Now St Kilda are struggling and they'll want a PP. Why should the AFL reward St Kilda a PP for shocking list management?
  20. I'd be more surprised if Boyd was happy at GWS atm. Highly rated talent, early draft pick, exceptional junior - kicking around in the two's! Regardless of whether he is up to AFL at the moment, based on his history, it would be hard to suck it up - especially being such a good junior. I would be more surprised if Boyd was happy at GWS atm. These guys are only human, they are trained to be competitive. I think we'll see quite a few GWS guys leave this year, simply because they have too much top end talent to keep happy. Starting the first few years of a career in the reserves, away from home and for a side that constantly gets flogged - is hardly inspiring.
  21. It was dead, but Gil is a St Kilda supporter, so expect to see a PP revival in the next couple of years.
  22. Plowman named in the bests in on the weekend (GWS ressies). O'Rourke and Plowman would be worth chasing for the right price. Shiel would be best case scenario.
  23. No complaints, I think Lamb is a good prospect, versatile and apparently runs a 16 beep test.
