  1. Why? So the players we develop can go on to play for the big, successful clubs. Even if we do draft successfully, what isn't to stop the top sides targeting our players. Nathan Jones will be high on the list for next year. Thankfully he is one of the only players on our list - who actually appears to bleed red and blue. Shout out to young Viney.
  2. The sub is another ridiculous idea. Beggers belief really. In this day and age the AFL chop and change rules - yet keep the bounce. The majority of the time the bounce is uneven, goes sides ways and halts momentum. Throw the friggin thing up you muppets.
  3. The AFL cannot really remind the players that without the AFL - they players wouldn't be in a position to get paid. The AFL can't really do this, because without the game of AFL - the AFL brand wouldn't be able to line their pockets. The real loser here is the actual game of AFL, the former sport that we all loved - now an entertainment spectacle. I think it is like a lot things in the modern world, probably needs to be stripped back and taken back to it's infancy - but that is impossible when people make money out of AFL in it's current state. Business has compromised the game, I only watch football for MFC - regardless of how poor we sometimes can be.
  4. Honestly, close to folding.
  5. I agree. Losing Frawley to a side who just won the flag. Having Clark retire due to depression, only to come back months later to join the most successful side of the modern era. MFC are expected to stand on our own two feet, but the AFL need to be realistic about it.
  6. Yeah, either way it doesn't matter now, all is well. Just really hope Trengove eventually comes good for us. Heart breaking to see him in the twos this year, was such a fine junior footballer.
  7. Consistent enough to win our B&F in 2012. Neeld opted to appoint Trengove and Grimes, with much fanfare around here. Neither proven to be good captains - with both lucky to even remain in the side. Jones should've been captain in 2013, no doubt about that. Roos rectified this stuff up and Jones is doing a tremendous job thesedays.
  8. It is firmly ingrained in Swann to kick the poor clubs, someone needs to remind him he is now at one! MFC will receive an early pick for Frawley, not based on how good Frawley is - but based on his importance to our side. Not only that, but I believe there will be a bidding war for James Frawley. Fremantle clearly need him - and should have cap space. Hawthorn should have cap space, Geelong want and despately need him. Gold Coast the dark horse.
  9. I agree, they'd be fantastic additions. Neeld started this money ball tactic where he got older - albeit has been - types to the club. Roos has adopted a similar strategy, except that the players we are now attracting are getting younger (and better) - Vince, Tyson, Varcoe? Lumumba? Even the likes of Cross we probably could've of gotten under Neeld. So I like Roos strategy, especially if by next year we can get even younger - and more quality players. Very slowly, Roos is gathering some real experienced players - with a little more left in the tank. We are losing a quality player each year through FA, but there are a lot youngsters on our list that could - and should - lift.
  10. Sam Frost will be a good addition. He is going to be a very good backman IMO. Brother at Collingwood is very promising as well.
  11. I'd take a straight swap for Varcoe. Varcoe is only 26, has upside. I'd take Varcoe before Lumumba - who is 28 next month.
  12. I agree, Adelaide yesterday coming out and saying point blank they will not even entertain picks 2 and 3 surprised me. The pressure is on Adelaide here, not Dangerfield, everyone seems to think Paddy is under pressure, he isn't - he still has a year to run. Adelaide are the club that have to make the big call, they cannot expect an answer off a bloke - when they haven't even got a coach in place.
  13. Except he won't get to his intended club. If we are going to get a measly 3rd round pick for Clark, then let's threaten to send him into the draft. Still might be a straight swap for Lumumba yet IMO.
  14. You are the only muppet here, pull your head in you clown.
  15. That means absolutely nothing.
  16. Dangerfield isn't under any pressure, he still has a year to run. Adelaide are the ones who should be seriously considering this offer. The fact the Crows have came out and said they'd refuse to even look at the offer - tells me everything. Dangerfield doesn't even need to comment, nor would he be desperate to get home, he is under no pressure at all. This Dangerfield to Dees is just a beat up, mostly just internet gossip.
  17. Hopefully Clark nominates Collingwood and we can just do a straight swap. Lumumba is basically just a bonus pick up for us, as Clark could've stayed retired and we'd of gotten nothing.
  18. It just hurts. Today really rubs it in for a Dees supporter. We might not ever get a chance to see a flag. First time I've thought that in a long long long time. I am actually a bit deflated today, I haven't had a joint in ten years. Today, I will admit I am a bit depressed and might roll a number. Bit Fk'd off with the AFL atm.
  19. Jones isn't going anywhere. He already has 3 b&f's under his belt and he bleeds red and blue. NJ is in the rare position where he can really niche out a lasting legacy at Melbourne. Plus I think Jones would be buoyed by Dom Tyson coming in and having a great year. Jonesy has already done the hard yards, makes no sense to jump ship now.
  20. Brisbane should offer Hanley up in exchange for Beams. I would do that trade in a heart beat. Hanley has had one good year and has played unaccountable off the back line. Beams is three times the footballer Hanley will be.
  21. When we drafted Trengove I just couldn't see him not flourishing into a superstar, he had it all. Now after watching Trengove the past few years, I just cannot see him being anything other than a one paced plodder. I don't think the foot is the problem either, he needs some serious aggression. We've been stiff with Trengove and Watts - they just have no mongrel in em.
  22. If the Brownlow was a true indicator of a players worth - then Scully wouldn't of even polled 1 vote. Scully lacks touch as a football, he seriously lacks an inside game, the kid is lucky he can tackle - very good tackler. But, to my eye, Scully isn't much of a player.
  23. Onya Jack, you are a true leader of men.
  24. I'd like to see the club try and block Clarks move or explore legal avenues surrounding the issue. We mightn't get an outcome, but it will signal to the AFL that we won't just be bent over. Losing Frawley, Clark and Rivers through FA has set the club back.
  25. When have Essendon received a PP?
