  1. I wish we were preparing for life without Harry.
  2. If St Kilda grab Petracca, I think McCartin and Brayshaw are also no brainers. Just look how desperate the Bullies are to get their hands on a good forward. We'd then have a couple of 10 year forwards and our midfield is taking shape. I think we'll only trade our picks for the right deal - Shiel, Treloar, or a player of that calibre.
  3. Use it on Shiel. Otherwise keep it and use it on a Brayshaw.
  4. He has issues, it is well documented. Has there been a season gone by where Lumumba hasn't put the attention on himself? I cannot recall one. Certainly Collingwood are fed up, they are moving him on anyway, so they have no bargaining power, they do not want this guy at their club regardless. Clark compo would be about right, like for like.
  5. Clark compo or nothing. Pick 23 is too much for Lumumba, Collingwood want it. I think we are waiting on a Clark trade. Lumumba is 28 next month, clearly has issues, and is an athlete before footballer - unlike Vince, who will play into his 30's. We won't give up 23, Roos isn't silly.
  6. Lumumba can play, we should be able to get him for our Clark pick. I wouldn't give up pick 19 for Harry though, not in this draft. I think Goddard could slip to 19, has more upside than H.
  7. Stretch will be a winger, no doubt. Viney, Salem, Tyson and Jones all running through the midfield. I hope Toumpas makes it, It is only hope. I think Christian Salem will be our best player in 3 years time.
  8. He could be in the top 5 mids of the draft. Brayshaw, Petracca, Heeney, Stretch, Ahern/Laverde - although the last 2 players haven't been as consistent as Stretch. I think 39 is an absolute steal. The kid was top 15 there is no doubt about that.
  9. Supporters whinging about losing Frawley and not being fairly compensated is perfectly fine. Considering the AFL haven't exactly bent over for the MFC of late, I understand the concern of supporters. Also media outlets suggesting last week Frawley would only command 400k - only adds to the concern. Pick 3 is excellent compensation for a good stoppage backman, with limited skills, poor decision making - and below average execution.
  10. What an absolute steal, I rate this kid very high. He just has that balance and class. Stretch and Salem are two players on our list that could make that transition to the elite bracket.
  11. I can't see him being picked up. Was surprised he was picked up in the first place.
  12. That face would get sad, then shortly after we'd hear that Clarke has relapsed.
  13. I would take Stretch in the top 10. Stretch has shown class, consistency, dedication, work ethic and has all the athletic qualities to make a fine player. Comes from a football family, oozzes class and has put that on display against men. As much as I love Ahern and Laverde, I'd take Stretch before them in a heart beat. Both those players are inconsistent, they could be the next coming of Nat Fyfe - or be the next Sam Blease. The only way opposition sides don't bid on Stretch is if they feel sorry for us - which I think is unlikely, given that we'll be pushing them back a spot already with pick 3.
  14. Couldn't be happier, Roos will stay onboard in some capacity. Goodwin will have did time under both Bomber, Roos and then still have Roos to bounce ideas off.
  15. Glad he is off the trade table, clearly lacked strength and condition the past couple years. Build him up strong, get some core and plyo work into him - and he'll have his chance. I wouldn't trade Toumpas, it would have to be a top 5 in this draft. He hasn't lost much value in my eyes, it was expected he'd take time- with his hip complaint pre-draft.
  16. Trade radio saying Clark to Geelong for 33 - which will then be offloaded for Lumumba.
  17. I wish I could 'like' that more than once. RIP Rob Flower.
  18. Yep, I agree with that 100%, if compensation isn't right, we should pursue this - and more.
  19. Yeah I agree there, scrapping the sub would achieve fatigue in players. Then the issue of rotation crops up. Rotation is a tricky issue. But unlimited rotations would also mean sides not rotating could find an advantage - somehow. And if more rotations meant players lifting intensity, then injuries would slow that down. I agree with scrapping the sub, but if the AFL did that, I'd prefer they stop regulating rotation.
  20. Because of the unfortunate situation we find ourselves in, we will have to overpay players to keep them. Hawthorn won't have that problem, with success comes the luxury of underpaying players - so both player/club remain successful. Comparisons matters very little, because one club reigns supreme - and the other holds up the ladder. This is why opposition supporters views on compensation is a joke, because Frawley is compared to Buddy. The very sad thing is that the AFL is swayed by public opinion, and in our case - it is firmly against us. This is why Paul Roos - being the smart man he is - directs public attention towards the inequality of FA. We really do have a smooth operator in the chair, that much is obvious.
  21. Yep and we should explore all possible legal avenues if that does happen. I read something earlier on Big Footy about MFC should block Clarks move if we don't get pick 3, and challenge the AFL about Geelong speaking to Frawley mid year. I've mentioned similar options on here myself, I don't know what others think, but IF we do miss out on pick 3, it would highlight issues the AFL want to sweep under the carpet. FA is a disaster, Roos has been vocal about it in the past, was vocal about it today - which conveniently put the issue in the spot light - and if we do miss out on pick 3, I'd expect Roos to step up his criticism and really make FA a major talking point.
  22. This would be awesome. We are Melbourne, the whole lot of it. I love this sh*t. The AFL can try minimise MFC, but we are making some nice inroads with these ideas. We are really lucky to have PJ, Barlett and Roos, they all play their roles so well, going about their business.
  23. Getting the ball out of the centre is arguably the most important part of the game. Takes pressure of defenders, gives forwards a chance - puts pressure on their defenders, etc. So for mine, to have the most important part of the game compromised for the sake of keeping a bounce - is ridiculous.
