Remember how we were on the verge of a dynasty a few years back? Fast forward two years and we're back-to-back, straight-sets chokers.
Maybe do some kicking practice in the off-season... or, y'know, after last week? When we lost a final for the exact same reason?

Swans will fall away next year, as per every other club that embarrasses themselves in a GF.
Giants have never recovered from that Grand Final bloodbath a few years back.
Ditto Adelaide.

Enjoy the final hour as reigning premiers, lads!

Dangerfield playing 2 good games in a row.
Geelong has had sensational luck this season. Coupled with a dream draw, good player management and a killer forwardline.
It was theirs to lose for about 10 weeks now and they don’t seem to want to choke again.Yep, ridiculously soft draw in the lead up to finals. Pair that with the bye week, another week off before the prelim, then a soft kill for the prelim itself, it's no surprise they've got plenty of fuel in the tank.
Didn't expect Sydney to be this bad though.

Going to be very hard for them to do it again.
Yep, a lot had to go exactly right for them to have that run in the back half of the season.

Collingwood blew the premiership against Geelong.
Had they won that, they would’ve spanked Brisbane last night and and played a GF on the ground they play their best footy by a mile.
Yep, reckon they had all the momentum to beat the Cats next week. They just blew a great chance at a Premiership.

THANK [censored] FOR THAT.
-
Unbelievable.
Swans fans would be livid right now. How do you blow this so spectacularly?
-
I feel sick.
So, so many easy shots missed. This would've been over by now.

Swans needs goal right now
They had so many opportunities to put the nail on the coffin and blew them all. Even Heeney at 3QT would've stopped the Pies momentum.
Looking like a carbon copy of us versus Brisbane last week.

This is like watching a slow motion train wreck.
You. Cannot. Give. Collingwood. A Sniff.
Reckon they will run away with this if they get the next goal.

I felt they were a goal short of being able to put the Pies away before the momentum swung when Sam Reid went off injured.
Thought the same. The margin was just that fraction too close and gave the Pies a sniff. 40+ points would've just about sealed it but they left the door ajar by missing so many shots.
Swans desperately need the first of the 4th to halt the Pies' momentum.
Just waiting for the umps to start getting involved now.

Swans supporters would be filthy if they lost from here, with all the easy shots they've missed.

It's all setup for a miraculous Pies win
Let's see how involved the umpires start getting here. Collingwood might need a hand.
A few cheapies in front of goal to start the quarter would do the trick.

Got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Melbourne have lost so many games from this position. Please don't make the same mistake Sydney.
-
Reckon they desperately need a goal to stop the Pies momentum.
When Collingwood get on a roll, they have this infuriating ability to pour on successive goals.

Come on Sydney... don't balls this up!
I have a sick feeling about this one... must be a Melbourne supporter thing because we've blown so many games from similar positions.
-
If Swans can get the next couple, I'll feel a lot better.
Collingwood are like a rash that just won't go away.

7 goals, 0 behinds. FMD.
Of course Collingwood are that accurate in a game like this.
-
Utterly embarrassing from Fremantle.
Pies even more inaccurate than us last night but at least they aren't allowing the opposition a [censored] easy chance to get back in the game, unlike our breathless capitulation against Brisbane.
Can only imagine how badly we would've blown this match if we were playing against Fremantle instead of Collingwood.
-
Probably the most predictable outcome ever. Had all the hallmarks of a vintage Melbourne loss at quarter time.
Surprisingly not that disappointed. Would rather go out tonight than watch us lose against a well-rested Geelong next week.

What a shock, those 3 junktime goals were the difference (not to mention our first quarter inaccuracy).
Putrid performance after QT.

As soon as I heard people describing tonight as a free hit once Daniher was out, I knew Brisbane would win.
Especially all the chatter around Brisbane's putrid MCG record, it had all the hallmarks of Melbourne blowing it.
-
To think we were 3.6 to 0.3 with about a minute left of the first quarter.
Blowing this match so spectacularly is so very Melbourne.

The first team under the current finals system to lose in straight sets in back-to-back seasons.
Melbourne break another record! Woohoo!
