You know this or just speculate ? I say the latter
Speculation of course. Based on snippets from Brayshaw, Goodwin, Richardson and Gus and Gawny podcast. Which is a ton better than Barrett ect who base their speculation on “ Post bye, hasn’t signed yet. His gone.”

Brayshaw deal is being held up by Jackson’s deal. So if Brayshaw signs new deal and Jackson still hasn’t, his gone. Until then anything is possible.

The fact it’s taking so long for Luke to sign would suggest, we’re not offering the ridiculous amounts of money the media is spouting.

A Hawthorn supporting workmate said “you’ll be going down to Launceston this weekend Marty”
”No and Why” I said.
”To watch the greatest team of our generation play of course”
”I’ve already seen them live once this year” I replied
“When did you see them?”
”1st game of the season at the G” I waited for the raucous laughter and retorts, but only got
”I see what your doing” then he changed the subject
What a time to be a Dees supporter. A lazy 30 point victory today and the tigers kept below 70 points from the greatest defence of any generation!

I get the impression that Angus and Andrew would enjoy playing against each other more than with each other.

Definitely!! From memory, he didn’t even consider another club. When Clarko mentioned looking elsewhere, he contacted Todd Viney. Deal got done, bloody quick cause Hawks didn’t want to lose him and Mitchell, just 1. But they lost both😂

Essendon home game with limited ticket sales. Made for a moronic insufferable echo chamber. I was watching on TV with Bomber supporting inlaws. They mentioned how terrible the umpiring was at one stage. Fired straight back with “Yeah it is, like when Dogga took a clear mark straight in front of goal and they called play on”

I simply cannot cope with the thought that Max Gawn, who can be talked about among our greatest all-time players, might end up not even being our best current ruckman.
But, seriously, can we give a nod to the big man here - he was working incredibly hard to wear down Witts in particular as well as Chol, both in ruck-wrestling and covering them around the ground.
This was letting Jackson spend a surprising amount of time on ground being comparatively fresh and lurking menacingly (if someone that affable can be menacing) in dangerous places.
Pretty phenonemal little stat - we had two ruck players who played 84% and 83% time on ground. Last week it was Jackson on field for 86% of the game and Gawn was out there for a mind-boggling 97% time on ground.
I don't think there's any ruck combination out there who could go with them for sheer time and endurance, and then there's the talent package as well.
As a comparison, Nic Nat, fresh as a daisy in the second quarter of round 1. Needed a break after 6 mins on the ground. 3 breaks that quarter!

Jackson knows that if he stays at the deees, he could win 2 more premierships.
He understands what's required and he has the desire. What more motivation does he need to re- sign ??
Is he only signing on for 2 more years😉

I haven’t heard “homesick” from any of our interstate recruits since Mark and Debra Brayshaw started taking them in. You’d be mad not to keep top quality people like the Brayshaws at our club!

Tom Morris who on the Fox Footy podcast after the grand final thought that Salem would never be more than a soft outside flanker (or words to that effect).
Salem was never that and I can’t stand Morris.
Strange comment!! Salem might play that outside HBF roll but he is one my favourite players because his toughness! How many times has he been targeted and just gets back up as though nothing happened.

2:06 PM (6 hours ago)Below is an email my 12 year old grandson sent to MFC today.Last year joining them up was a time-consuming project over 3 phone hook-ups. This year I gave up trying to deal with them and handballled it to my daughter who passed it on to him.Hi,
My mum has been trying to renew my membership since Monday and also my brother’s and sister’s memberships.
She rings MFC but is on the phone for 40 mins waiting until it cuts out every day for the past 3 days. She emailed too, and tried the chat bot.
Can we renew asap please? Mum and me tried to do it online but it keeps saying access denied when we continue shopping.
Please help,
Orlando S
(Oskar S and Zara S) (Surname deleted)Now this is a great point where the club is lacking!! I renew my membership when I can as money is tight around this time of year. But as I get a grand final guarantee every year with my interstate membership, you can’t do it online. You have to ring and sometimes you’ll be on hold for 45mins only to be cut off.
add a couple of extra employees and more importantly fix the website! I’ve had the same membership GFG for years. Should be a simple as log in, same as last year, payment details. Bang, 2 mins.
@Mach5has given us nothing. Bad enough when someone jumps on a thread saying I have inside info, but I’m not telling anyone. But starting a thread just to do it is…well…Troll.

For anyone wondering about the umpiring last night. This should explain it.

Spare change out of the ash tray.

6-6-6 rule is pretty simple. There’s a tone of time to set up after a goal. They weren’t switched on!!
No other excuses! Which would explain alot of other issues from last night as well.- 2

Top thread @Skuit.
Not sure if this counts as I’m repeating what I heard.Contention. Goodwin doesn’t have a plan B
Round 20 2021 vs GC. I was listening on the radio and Craig Jennings was doing special comments. Pre game, he went into great detail about how Melbourne will attack the game. What Gold coast will have to do to stay in it and how they could counter when Melbourne got on top. He was asked what Melbourne would do if GC came out like they did against Richmond and GWS.
He said, tighten up in certain areas and maybe some positional changes, but Goodwin will back his system to beat GC. (Like he had been reading DL) he then said, has Goodwin got a plan B, of course he has. Will you see it today, no. You probably won’t see it till the finals. He was loving our year and spoke very highly of particular players and Goodwin. So the “Goodwin doesn’t listen” Would (in my opinion) be overstated and or out of context.

Generally how it works. Go elsewhere and learn under different systems, then come home.
Geelong though?
Who are about to fall off the cliff!
Be very careful Daisy!!Screams of scapegoat.

A lot of interesting comments on here about Gus and his future since the announcement that he is delaying contract renewal talks. What is more interesting is that there were none of these same thoughts and comments about Gus before the announcement.
Pre announcement: "what a great year Gus has had, particularly the finals"; "what a great role player Gus has developed into and how important he and his role is in the team", etc.
Post announcement: "Gus wants more mid time and is looking elsewhere to get it"; "Gus wants more money"; "Gus is overpaid for a role player and has to take a pay cut so that we can keep Jacko and Oli" etc
Is this our MFCSS resurfacing? Let's perhaps chill a bit and see what pans out.
FWIW, I'd be very surprised if he has even considered looking elsewhere.
Exactly what I’ve been thinking.
putting contact talks on hold doesn’t have to mean your considering rival offers.
do we even know if Gus himself has put talks on hold or
Gus and the club decided it would be best for both parties to get other deals finished first.
I wouldn’t put any faith in the bloke who wrote the article knowing, considering he suggested Freo as an option, when Gus has publicly stated, more than once, he’s staying in Melbourne.- 2

Flying over for this. Dogs will want revenge. Should be a cracking game!
Just wondering which end of the ground will the demon army be sitting @?

If Freo to beat Adelaide this week and we win all 3 games. Top spot is ours! Unfortunately I can’t see that happening.
-
He said on the Gus and Gawny podcast that; After footy, he was staying in Melbourne. If he does change clubs, which I highly doubt! It won’t be interstate.
