  1. I agree the one in the first quarter was awful and that at times Terlich does cough it up, however he also had a number of intercept marks and 16 disposals. Going off the stats on the AFL website he was 3rd in the time for disposal efficiency, 81.2%. Had 3 clangers but so did M Jones, Dunn, Pederson (3 of our 'best') and Viney had 6. Needs to work on his decision making, but would much rather Terlich in the team than any of Jetta, Nicholson or Strauss, is also only 24 so has time to work on his disposal efficiency.
  2. Terlich had one terrible kick that I can remember but other than that I thought he was quite good. Took quite a few intercept marks and was reasonable in defense.
  3. Pederson's transformation over the past three games has been quite extraordinary. In Round 1 or 2 people were calling for him to be dropped and ruing the 3 year contract, now he's getting 6 votes for Demonland Player of the Year. Ran hard all night and actually presents. I thought Dawes looked slower than him tonight and Pederson's speed has always been questioned, has relished the chance to play down back and even though he played forward some of tonight the increase in confidence seems to have carried over. After a quiet game last week Dunn was fantastic tonight. Has really turned a corner since Roos came on board, completely different player from 2-3 years ago. Vince had an impact tonight, he has been very quiet since Round 1 and it was great to see him getting some ball again. As people have mentioned Watts and Howe were very poor tonight, Frawley was down on form too. Watching him try and mark sometimes I felt like he was being too defensive, wrestling with his man rather than trying to throw his weight around and take a mark. The problem tonight for me was our forward line and a number of costly turnovers. Our hand-balling is atrocious, either a high, floaty handball which is easily intercepted or contested, or we handball 3 metres to a player who is then gang tackled. Tom McDonalds handball to Viney in the defensive 50 was a massive example of this.
  4. 6. Dunn 5. N Jones 4. Pederson 3. M Jones 2. Vince 1. Cross Thought Kennedy-Harris looked good in the midfield, particularly in the second half, much more damaging than he is forward. Grimes and Viney gave 100%.
  5. I like the idea of McDonald in the forward line, but with his kicking would he even score any goals? Garland played forward against Essendon two years ago and did alright, so if he's playing this week it's an option too. Gawn is the most dangerous for mine. I also want to see Dean Kent playing again, love his attack on the ball. Was sitting near him at the game on Sunday, Sam Blease and others kicking back, checking the phone and feet on seats. Dean Kent was in the 2nd front row of the Members, away from the other players with what I think was his Mum and Dad. All game he only had eyes for the footy, looked a bit shattered but was focused on what was going on rather than checking his supercoach scores.
  6. Sorry, you are right about contested marks. However, this was entirely because he was actually presenting a lead and finding space, ala the JKH goal. Which I'm only banging on about because it's the only one with footage up, I would of witnessed this at least two other times and that doesn't include the leads that weren't rewarded. Of our other forwards on Sunday the only one I saw making an attempt to present was Pederson, who is too slow to break away from his man and find space, which, I believe, is why he often fails to take a mark. This is further compounded by players kicking too long or too short. I do prefer Dunn as a backman and remember a stat from last year that rated him Number 1 in the comp for 1on1's but I think we need his foot skills and his ability to actually present a lead in the half forward line if we want to kick some goals this Sunday. As much as the problem is our forward line, it's also the fact we simply turn the ball over across half forward too often
  7. I'm sorry but I completely disagree with this comment, I was at the game and Dunn was working very hard when thrown forward. No, he didn't kick any goals and I don't even recall him having a shot at goal in the 3rd or 4th but he was an important link up player off Half Forward. For patches in the 3rd and 4th he was the only player who took a contested mark and was accurate with his kick. Just watch the JKH goal to see what I'm talking about, few of our players would of been able to pull off that kick. There was one or two other times where he actually hit a target inside 50 unlike many of other player's who'd coughed it up around Half Forward. I would like to see Dunn played CHF or there about's next week, especially if Garland comes back into the team. I think he's a player who has improved this year and seems to actually give a [censored], I can't remember how he played in defense for the first half but he really stood out for mine in the 2nd.
