  1. I speak English. I learn it from a booookkk...the moose spoke english said Major!
  2. Your wanting to compare Jolly's successful years at Sydney & Collingwood and 2 premierships to a player capable of 1 good season lol
  3. Yeah I hear what your saying but we could have used on Jolly just for one year and mentoring the ruck prospects.
  4. Looking good. Can imagain forwards of: Howe, Dawes, Hogan, Fitzpatrick with Clark & King rotating at ruck/RFP. But then im just dreaming
  5. I trust the club but personally I see no positive aspects for Jetta. There is not one skill he possesses which is worthy of considering afl standard. Harsh but true. Still I have less information to base my opinion so if Roos made the decision then i trust him (only just though)
  6. Here Here. Neitz was my most hated player. Very arrogant and selfish
  7. Paul Roos will have this club firing in a couple of years. I'm really looking forward to what Roos and the coaching team can do with the likes of Grimes, Frawley, Garland, McDonald, Toumpas, Viney, Watts, Trengove, Dawes, Cark, Howe, N.Jones. I, like all, know melbournes blunders with draft picks and its inability to recruit, however I truly believe these players will become A-B grade players in the medium term (2-3 yrs). Add verdicts like Michie, Tyson, Vince, Blease, Kent, Terlich, Clizby, M.Jones Fitzpatrick, Hogan, Gawn, Spencer whom are yet to prove themselves and this makes for a promising prospect. Roos will be keen to build a spine and what better way to look to the lives of the more experienced areas on the field. KPP Backman in the likes of Frawley, Garland (ability to go forward), McDonald, FPP Forwards in the likes of Dawes and Clark (can play ruck - if uninjured), with good potential in Howe (can play midfield) and Hogan (perhaps can play both forward and back). This is why in the most recent interview by Roos he expects a competitive team in 2-3 years. The pillers at either end are basically complete. Granted, another FPP Back and forward would be handy, these players can afford to be somewhat inexperienced and have these mature players guiding them into the game, taking the oppositions key opponent. That's what I think bought Roos to Melbourne. Like a kid in a candyland, so much choice.
  8. 1 - St Kilda (Etihad) - 50/50 2 - West Coast (MCG) - Loss 3 - GWS (Giant Stadium) - Win 4 - Carlton (MCG) - Loss 5 - Gold Coast (MCG) - 50/50 6 - Swans (MCG) - Loss 7 - Crows (Adelaide) - Loss 8 - Doggies (MCG) - 50/50 9 - Tiggers (MCG) - 50/50 10 - BYE 11 - Port (TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs) - 50/50 12 - Pies (MCG) - Loss 13 - Dons (MCG) - Loss 14 - North (MCG) - Loss 15 - Dogs (Etihad) - 50/50 16 - Freo (TIO Darwin) - Loss 17 - Cats (MCG) - Loss 18 - Port (Adelaide) - Loss 19 - Lions (Etihad) - 50/50 20 - Hawks (MCG) - Loss 21 - GWS (MCG) - Win 22 - West Coast (Patterson) - Loss 23 - North (Etihad) - Loss This is my thoughts on win potential. 2 wins, 7 50/50 and the rest loss. To me the fixture at this stage is irreverent. No one should expect instant miricles and PJ and Roos have indicated this. What I want to see is competitiveness. Fight f***** hard for the ball and if you still lose by 100+ points hold your head high, know you tried your best and move onto the next week. I do think its critical that Roos can develop a team capable of a chance in winning at Etihad. I dont recall Melbourne ever having a good record here and it's time we should develop a game plan suitable for the oval size and conditions. The AFL will always have to scheduled games at Etihad, and therefor 4 games lost. Doesn't matter immediatly but when your playing for top 4, and a game win to determine ladder position we will suddenly cost ourselves.
  9. Must be something wrong with him...enjoying Adelaide lol
  10. Melbourne will continue to fail at list management and drafting until the club poaches a head recruiter from a team who has demonstrated these qualities. Clubs such as Geelong, Hawthorn, Collingwood. Until the club can do this, the list will increasingly fill of the Gysberts, Morton, Steven Armstrong, Daniel Bell, Nicholas Smith, Sylvia, McLean, Bate, Dunn, Petterd, Morton, Maric, Watts (may prove to be ok; still unknown), Blease, Strauss, Scully, Trengove (refer watts), Gysberts, Tapscott, Cook. 2009 draft: Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, Tapscott. Yes ok he landed Gawn, Fitzpatrick however the class was earlier in the draft. 4 picks in top 18 and I suspect we blew every one of them. I know it serves little purpose discussing our drafting however I feel so resentful of the MFC management from 2000 (and perhaps before that I wasnt aware of) to 2012.
  11. Keep the delistings coming. Have to trust Roosy and the footy department in this one. All we need now is Bail + Jetta + Nicholson to finish off another list of major list changes. All required in my view. Unless an outstanding year happens to Dunn, Blease, Strauss, Byrnes, Evans, McKenzie, Pederson, Tapscott they will be in the firing line!
  12. Who says I am smoking? Had I have been wouldn't it make more sense to have Melbourne 1st? Honestly people take every post here as gods truth, perhaps members need to start relaxing and have a laugh once in a while. Seesh!
  13. Love it! Might want to concider that I was taking the [censored] here...just for some amusement. In all honesty, 14-16 I expect us finishing. Thanks for being the gullible one!
  14. 1. Hawthorn 2. Sydney 3. Fremantle 4. Melbourne 5. Collingwood 6. Geelong 7. Kangaroos 8. Richmond 9. West Coast 10. Essendon 11. Gold Coast 12. Western Bulldogs 13. Adelaide 14. Carlton 15. Port Adelaide 16. Brisbane 17. St Kilda 18. GWS
  15. Honestly, couldn't give a kangaroo jump on where we finish. I long to witness a competitive team Who posses the hunger for the sherrin. Heads high; Ready to hold their own ground. Don't care where you finish The win/loss record of little interest Just go out there and fight Show me all your might; For Roooooooooos we STAND!
  16. So should we win the first game can I be first dibs to say the word 'finals'?
  17. B: Grimes Frawley Garland HB: Terlich McDonald Howe C: Blease Viney Michie HF: Watts Clark Trengove F: Dawes Hogan Kent R: Gawn Tyson Cross I.C: N.Jones, J.Fitzpatrick, Vince Sub: Tompass Emm: Kent, M.Jones, Evans What I like about all the posts here so far is they illustrate what a strong spine this team has. There is a potential that I have no idea about football and what looks on paper as a strong team but I honestly get excited by the likes of Frawley, Grimes, Garland, Tompass, Viney, Tyson, Clark, Trengove, Hogan, Dawes, Gawn have to offer. I think there is a real potential for a very competitive team here. It lacks enough classy players for a deep finals birth but there is a top 8 team here in the medium term future and that's exciting enough after eight years!
  18. I think Blease and Tapscott have more to offer than the likes of Bail, Strauss, Peterson and Jetta. I would rather be trading/delisting these players before we touch Blease and Tapscott. Blease, especially is a player I can see dominating when the midfield is sorted. His pace could be a real assett. Tapscott could be a useful backman/forward. Rather give Roos 12 months to see what he can do with them. If nothing changes by 2014, then bye bye!
  19. Joshua Bruce for me. We require another KP back player and this man is it. During the national draft and trade we have/will add midfielders. We require another backline player. Should Frawley leave it could potentially help to an extent
  20. is Billy Stretch one of these? know nothing about the kid besides hes a father son
  21. Why not Hogan at FF. Didnt we make a mistake playing watts out of postion and not playing him where he was best suited; as a forward? And Roos did mention he wanted Watts as a midfielder, leaving Clark, Dawes and Howe as the only forwards.
  22. True, we cant expect to fill every void in one preseason. Should our focus in next years draft be inside mids with KP backline players and a small forward or two? Agreed, we need Cross Is there a father son pick next year too from what I heard? Any idea what the FS kid is like?
  23. Enjoy melbourne, easily the best city in the world (and I have spent a lot of time traveling). Morning Glory with Tim Watson, Andy Maher and sometimes Andrew Gaze is the best radio you will hear. Run home can be touch and go, 774 or Dire Straits in the arvo if Robbo is on!
