Myself and four mates arriving midnight Friday. Is there a pub within walking distance of TIO?
  2. Apologies if it's already been mentioned. I couldn't see a thread to that effect.
  3. In today's papers: The HUN Watts must perform, says Bailey The Age: A tale of two teens From the latter: His game is punctuated with exhilarating moments that will make every highlight reel, along with periods of inactivity and minimal output. In 17 games he is averaging just over three kicks, one mark and eight handballs a game. Listening the his game against the Swans (in Sydney) 3 weeks ago, he (NicNat) got his first possession midway through the third quarter.
  4. And a win would see us balance the ledger 4-4. I too know sweet FA about economics, but I believe the above to be 'responsible'.
  5. Enjoy your grain of salt BLWNBA! Dees sign James Frawley to four-year deal
  6. Given that we're playing Saturday, I can't see the relevance of Sunday's forecast (altho' Sat. predicted to be the same.
  7. I'm curious as to whether Sam had a rod inserted in his leg. If so, there can be issues when the rod is removed. Anyone know?
  8. They have a huge advantage playing so many games at Kardinia Park. Actually, they only play 7 games there each year. The only Victorian sides they can accommodate are Melb., North, Dogs, and (of late) Richmond. They treat visiting supporters, even those with 16-game memberships as I have, with utter contempt. They have two warring cheer squads, and each gets a spot behind opposite goals. It's near-impossible to book a seat, and if you do pay the $50 or so you'll be surrounded by Geelong supporters who get quite indignant if there's a 'foreigner' in their midst. The beer queues can stretch 50 metres, and toilet queues are similar. As I mentioned earlier, I live 20km from the venue, and myself together with 5 mates will go to Subiaco or TIO before we go to K Park.

  10. I live 20km from Skilled Stadium. I refuse to go there. Last year I travelled 1000km to Carrara, and 500km to Manuka, and I'm off to TIO in two weeks, but no way will I set foot in a shite stadium full of supporters whose arrogance is only matched by those who wear the colours of 'pee and poo'.
  11. My mate spoke to Bail last night. He got the impression there's been little improvement in his niggling quad injury, so I doubt he'll be fit next week.

  13. To anyone who hasn't made it to a B&F, do yourself a favour and get along this year. I think it was 3 years ago when Cam, not long after he was appointed, spoke almost 'off the cuff' at the B&F (held at Docklands). Jimmy had just taken the reins and we were struggling. Cam's speech was inspirational. Like Jimmy and CC, his bleeds Red and Blue.
  14. Care to research our record at Docklands over that period?
  15. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/demons-widen-focus/story-e6frf9jf-1225857683794 The last two sentences sum it up: "We're playing an exceptional football club and we need to make some inroads on Saturday night. "If we don't, then what we've done the last two weeks will disappear pretty quick."
  16. Agree with Rojik. It's God's way of telling you that real men don't iron!
  17. Myself and four mates heading up. I'm expecting a stark contrast to the freezin' conditions we experienced last year at Manuka (for our interstate Home game).
  18. I certainly concur with the last sentence: 'It would be ridiculous to suggest the Demons are finals-bound on the back of wins against Adelaide and Richmond, but it is the way they are going about it that gives supporters hope'
  19. I like him and I reckon he's pretty efficient in his disposal. He was, however, well beaten by Burton including having 2 goals kicked on him in short succession. He needs the 'right' opponent. Trav may be the 'right' opponent this Saturday.
  20. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-riding-high-on-back-to-back-wins-but-true-test-awaits/story-e6frf9jf-1225855253878 I did find myself thinking yesterday how nice it would be to have a 'Neita' in the square. Green is too valuable to have at FF and Bate impresses at times but I don't think he's the answer. I'd give Juice another crack. At least he can do the ruckwork down forward. On another tack, Dunn in the ruck certainly not something I want to see.

  24. Whilst I did not read the posts that have lead to this Geelong-based coach considering legal action, I have some idea what the gist of them would be as the club I'm involved with play in the same league. From personal experience, forum moderators need to be on their toes 24/7, so D'landers shouldn't be upset if posts they consider innocuous are pulled. http://www.geelongad...53031_news.html
