Good to see I am not the only one who notices this. Offers no defensive and than when he gets a shot at goal it really is just chance the way the come off the boot as to waht occurs. A player way overrated by majority of Dees supporters.

Unless the coaching staff pulled Davey out of the contest when he shat himself I dont understand. The coaching staff must now show the way and send him to Sandy.

We need to use this opportunity to blood Blease and Strauss who may improve our deficiencies in disposal and run from back half.

Do these numbers show is turnovers and goals against?

my 3 word player analysis V The party boys
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Joeboy most are completely on the money but I cannot understand how you didn't rate Jetta today. -
Todays effort was good todays strategy was embarrassing. We had a backline filled with honest triers who cannot dispose of the ball yet they had obviously been told to try and transition at every opportunity. We played one man down for 3 qtrs meaning McKenzie and Evans would have played alot more minutes than expected.

Anything less than being dropped to Casey will show a complete lack of spine from this football club. His squib effort was only matched in embarrassment by his 2 first half disposals. A shadow of the player he once was.

I have been a member for 23 years and would say in that time have missed attending less than 10 games in Victoria. I dont believe there has been a game in that time I have not viewed. If you want to talk alarmist rubbish without considering the impact of games played then I think it is you that does not understand the game. Consistency of effort and intensity is the result of games played pure and simple. Our poor leadership is a result of previous poor culture and because those that we are instilling the correct values in are too young to take the labelled positions in the leadership group. We might come out and win today and win well but we are just as likely to then lose by ten goals next week for the exact same reasons.Do I like watching the rubbish that we have dealt out in patches this year no. Do I accept it no. But I do not ignore the importance of the age of our group and weaknesses in the older players on our list. Ignore it if you like but it is a key factor in our current performance. -

Todays team has 1424 combined games due to some experienced inclusions against StKilda's 2383 games. -
Correct that move would cost them the game.

And ours is skewed by Green and Davey so may as well take them out as well.... -

Hawthorn at the G, West coast at the G and North at Etihad all ask if you remember them from last year? -

We lack leadership which is a carryover to previous culture. Green/Davey are the last of a soft culture at Melbourne and were poor choices as Captain and VC. Clearly stated by most coaches that young sides struggle with the application of tactics, structure and strategy. They also struggle with consistency. Teams that apply structures and strategies well have played lots of games together and have a consistency in their starting 18(low injury count). We won 8 games last year yet have 3.5 wins a third of the way through the season with a younger side and high injury toll yet by most we have gone drastically backwards.. I dont believe Bailey is the man to take us forwards but the alarmist attitude by some on this site and constant comparison with sides like Richmond, Essendon and West Coast astounds me. -
Here is the games played of this weekends starting 22 of teams who are up and coming and consistently compared to us this year. West Coast 1905 North 1777 Essendon 1605 Richmond 1343 Melbourne 1320* * 370 of these games of experience are Green and Davey who have offered nothing all year. Richmond who are allegedly flying have won against Freo in Melbourne, Brisbane and North and a draw to StKilda. Not exactly startling stuff. They have one player injured who would be in their starting 22 (Kevin Moore). I currently count us after half time yesterday having 8 of our starting 22 missing. Yes there are things not to like about our performances this year, our lack of leaders, our game style or lack thereof but people also need to get a grip and consider that games played and injuries are also a large part of the explanation.

My 3 word player analysis V The Poos

If Warnocks job was to play on Petrie and Petrie takes 2 marks and does not kick a goal how is this possible? Oh it must have been his 100% disposal efficiency..... What game were you watching? -
Garland then Dunn played on Edwards. Frawley had him for about 10 minutes in the third where he kicked one goal?

Do I watch the same game? On one hand you say players (Bennell) does not work hard enough and on the other hand you say you would love Jetta to never play again. Jetta laid 12 tackles and Gysberts aside was the only player relatively clean in close. Would love to know your issues with him and why you do not lump Wonna in the same who for mine was useless and lazy today. We were beaten today not because the effort was not there but because we still have too many players that make too many skill errors and turn overs kill you at Etihad. We also without Jamar struggled to get a clean takeaway which is crucial at that ground. It is going to be a tough time without the Big Russian.

Hurley is not streaks ahead him. Hurley is grossly over rated by the media.

Watts has given the ball off about 20 times in his short career so far when he should have had a ping. I loved it that he had the confidence to have a crack. I WANT our key forward to be hungry for a goal. He is really starting to lead aggressively and players are starting to look out for him. He is not far away from a little haul me thinks.

Good post. would almost agree with your sentiments word for word. Also best to do it now in the season than second half of 2011

Since when does Martin and Davey play the same role? There was no way Davey was going to be dropped but send him back to a pocke t o get back to what he does best. Stefan has been much improved in the ruck but does not look capable of kicking a goal which is where he would be for most of the game. Newts deserves his chance. expect a bench of newts bail gysberts with wonna as the sub if we play Dunn as the sub again I will be physically Ill.
