  2. Excellent. I love that forever and a day, whenever we play at Optus we will be able to whisper in the ears of Eagles and Dockers players, 'How many flags have you won on this ground?'

  6. So personally I am loving that: * We will get primetime slots for our games. Our games rated well. * That we won the lot with a 'hard draw', now we ARE the hard draw. * We travel as well as anyone, Perth is now sacred ground for us. But most of all, every other side will be a, scared of us everywhere, home or away. b, we are scared of nowhere. c, will feel like they are never enough in front. And lastly, like i predicted after GWS r3, we now have BOOMSHAKALA, am tipping we kick the highest winning score next year as well as the best percentage. 20/20 Cricket scores coming up.

  8. After North offered him that contract they treated Ben very, very poorly. That’s worth a lot more than you can know - until you are free of that situation. I make about half of what I was making a few years ago. I love what I do now. I’m happier, more focussed, and feel like I offer more than I did in my previous job. There’s no amount of money that could get me to go back to my previous job, because I was treated poorly. Besides, my hips don’t have the flexibility to get back on the pole now anyways.

  9. One reason might be that trade discussions pique the interest of supporters of all 18 teams. Talking incessantly about Melbourne's victory appeals to supporters of one club only.

  11. Words can't explain how much this means to me. All the pain, all the heartache, the disappointment we've had to endure. The love-hate relationship I've had with this club as a supporter for 30+ years and as a member for the last 15 years, has caused me so much more grief than joy. At our lowest I would often ask myself why I put myself through this. Why do I care so much? Will this ever be rewarding? Well, all of that was worth it... for this moment. Although bittersweet in that we weren't able to be at the game or even watch it and celebrate the win with friends, this game is still one of the happiest moments in my life. I still can't believe it's happened and I've watched the replay or at least part of it every day since. It's been almost a decade since I posted on here and probably over 10 years since I was a regular. Still an occasional lurker from time to time and as passionate as ever about the Dees, but family and work-life balance meant I no longer had time and fell out of the habit of posting. And I lost a bit of interest in the team during the Neeld years to be completely honest! It's been refreshing this year to come on this forum and see the positivity and hope return to the supporters. For so many years this forum was a hotbed of negativity and I love reading thru all the posts recently and seeing just how happy this has made all of us. We are Premiers! The MFC... Premiers!! Still delirious ❤💙🏆

  15. Hindsight makes fools of all of us. Not her biggest mistake by a all long way. Not a Caro hater but she had a shocker grand final week. Kicked off with a nothing story about a club curfew and followed up by comparing the tanking saga to the Essendon drug saga. Not her finest work at all.

  17. Keep the post alive. It was sensational. What a game. That last 45 minutes of footy was the most exciting in the last 49 years of supporting the Dees. Go Dees.

  18. I’m sure he’s pretty happy with the call now but from pure money and contract certainty perspective she was probably right at the time. He might be worse off in a financial way but now he’s a premiership player I doubt he cares much!

  19. Other teams move on. We still have many stories to digest. I hope the club produces a Book in time that gives us the reactions of past players and long time suffering Members. Coffee Table Book style

  21. My son was born on the Monday before Round 1. Every game day he wore the MFC onesie. The day we played Adelaide he threw up on himself and we had to change him. The day we played Collingwood he [censored] on himself and we had to change him. The night we got beaten by the Bulldogs he threw up on himself. I can't explain the GWS loss. 😂

  22. Frankly, I don’t need the media or anyone else pumping up our club. As mentioned in the article, other club supporters et al are not interested. Just as we were not interested in the Tigers and all the other GF winners. It pisses you off, and is best avoided. Be satisfied that our victory and the journey to it, is etched in our memory, psyche and every bone and tissue of our fabric. We will not forget it. No one can take it away or the imposing manner that we won. In 2021, we crushed our opponents in the most remarkable way. It is etched now in the history of the club and AFL footy. Whatever happens in the future, 2021 is there, rock solid in our being. Lets move forward to the next goal, renaming positive, joyful and humble. But for 2021, we will forever remain The Champions. And Demon tragics are no longer long suffering but now forever joyful and full of love for our club.

  23. I’m loving the thought of other teams’ supporters saying, “oh sheeet, we’ve got Melbourne this week.” Accompanied by a deep sigh and a full 360-degree eye roll.

  27. After Clarry kicks that goal at end of third, the camera pans to the bulldogs midfield reassembling for the final center bounce of the quarter. They are simply [censored] stunned and shell shocked. of a million favourite things I also bloody well love Tmac. His shepherd on the goal line for that sparrow goal just sensational. If he’s not physically strong enough that goal is touched on the line, but the big meat eating Tmac actually throws the bulldogs defender off his feet. Literally. Marvel cinematic universe stylie!

  29. Suddenly, we’re all at a loss. We can pretend that it’s not all over. We can watch replays. We can hope that they somehow allow cricket or basketball to start. Bloody hell, it’s not a week since we smashed the 57 year premiership drought and we’re already facing nightmares about what to do. I have to admit that I was expecting to spend this weekend watching the Storm make it a double for the Melbourne brand. However, their unexpected defeat has opened up another avenue of support for a team notwithstanding that I don’t really understand rugby league all that much. The South Sydney Rabbitohs were once upon a time a hard luck story much like the Melbourne Demons were at this time last week although they did win a premiership in 2014. The tough part came about because, although they were strong in the 50s and 60s and had a magnificent leagues club at South Sydney Juniors (which I attended on my first visit to Sydney in 1972), they suffered from financial strain for 30 years until they were kicked out of the NRL at the end of 1999. Supporters including the likes of Russell Crowe and Peter Holmes a Court had to wage an expensive court battle for reinstatement which occurred after two years in the wilderness. At around the time of their reinstatement, one of their officials spoke at an MFC function and it was in my view, an inspirational account about how the supporters rallied to save their club. In many ways, it was similar to the Melbourne/Hawthorn merger struggle. So, at the weekend, I’ll be on the Rabbitohs and after that, it’s only a few months to fill in before the AFLW starts, then the practice matches and the magnificent day will come when we can watch the unfurling of the real 2021 premiership flag.

  30. While I don't believe in superstitions, i think they are bad luck...boom, tish...I'll be here all week (well at least that part is true) there were certainly some omens that correlated with the Dees getting up on the weekend....I still cant quite believe that our team are the premiers. So here goes, the omens that foretold of the Dee's victory Last time Melbourne were Minor Premiers - 1964 - Outcome Melbourne Premiers. 2021 Melbourne Minor Premiers and Premiers ✅ Last time Olympics held in Tokyo - 1964 - Outcome Melbourne Premiers. 2021 Tokyo hosts the Olympics and Melbourne Premiers ✅ Only other team to come from 5 goals down after halftime at Geelong to win - 2006 WCE - Outcome WCE premiers 2021 Melbourne come from 42 points down to win at Gellong - Melbourne Premiers ✅ Last time a captain kicked a goal after the siren to win the Minor Premiership - 1987 Kernahan Carlton - Outcome Carlton premiers 2021 Gawn kicks goal after siren to win the minor premiership - Melbourne Premiers ✅ The big one...Age of Norm Smith when he passed - 57 years - Years since Melbourne Premiership - 57 years! The curse is over! And a slightly left field one Melbourne finished the H&A season with 1888 points scored - being lucky in both Christen (Petracca of course) and Chinese numerology (lets go with the Norm Smith medalist, Jock McHale medallist and the Premiership cup) Anyone got any others?? Anyway I think I am going to wear out the internet with the number of times I have already watched the multi-call of the last minute of the third quarter...unbelievable.

  38. Hoping we get ANZAC Eve and QB as Home games as all we had the past two years was a restricted 2020 ANZAC Eve crowd. Or maybe it is a good time to alternate with Richmond and Collingwood so we don't have the 'feast/famine' affect on our financials every other year. Wouldn't be happy if they are both Away games in 2022. Would love it if the QB game becomes the Pies Grand Final

  44. Civility personified. They are a well-mannered lot, couth and culture - aware of responsibilities to nobles oblige - what really pleased me was the fact that TMac did not miss such a vital goal that would etch a dark cloud into the minds of a losing Bulldogs team - right to the finish, they were anihilated with grace and favour. Every sentence requires a full stop.
