  1. I see a boy that has lost all confidence in his marking. As a result he is not leading. I also see a boy who is 196 cms and was BOG in our first final in years, against the Cats, a couple of years ago. I don’t believe you lose your talent that easily and that confidence is a big thing in footy. Time for Choco to get the best out of this kid. It is easy to write off a kid, but I just feel that all is not lost with him. I recall the comments last year about Tom Mac and all those who wanted him gone, Hunt and Spargo too and plenty wanted Fritta out as well. I wanted ANB gone. Hello, we are on top of the ladder and those 5 have played nearly every game with only Fritta missing one due to injury. Weid may fail, but I am not writing him off.

  2. One thing I took from that, Daisy Pearce is easily the best commentator out of that lot.

  3. You can lead to the flank, use your rump to hold out your defender, t-bone anyone trying to block you, meat the footy with both hands and steak your claim as a forward who can last the forequarters.

  4. Rival Clubs Circling Weideman. Rival clubs cleared for landing. ✈️

  5. I have a bit of a man crush on Touk Miller. He has an all round game. Never stops running, tackles all day and no one breaks his tackles and his disposal and decision making is first class. I’d love him in the red and blue

  6. I genuinely don’t understand the need for the Gold Coast Suns.

  7. I agree. I feel like Richmond do the work. Geelong is harder to like as Selwood and Hawkins walked into an incredible side early on, and Cameron, Rohan, Dangerfield, Smith and Higgins all went chasing success. It’s their right, but for those of us emotionally wedded to the loyalty of one side it feels a bit dirty. Its why I don’t like Lynch at Richmond either.

  8. Weideman is not going to pop up suddenly and kick 5 goals any time soon no matter how many more weeks we play him at the moment. He's never going to be a Neita or a Schwarta with an intimidating physical presence anyhow. He has to either get really smart about positioning or develop a stronger lower body, torso, and stronger hands. He often gets to the right position but then doesn't have the strength to see it through. Brushed off like a fly. BBB is reported as going through a mid-season pre-season. Make of that what you will. (Clearly not meeting expectations set by the football department). The forgotten man is Mitch Brown. No star but a proven forward and goal kicker who knows and plays his role well. And he actually kicks goals and is a no fuss player. He could be our Clark Keating waiting in the wings...the September specialist. Worth a shot as clearly FF is a poisoned chalice in the meantime.

  9. What would a Tommy Bugg or an ANB get if they poked a player in the eye? We might not see them ever again on a footy field. (Yes I know TB has retired.) This [censored] of "aww gee, we don't want the best players in the game on the sidelines ... we want them on the ground wowing the crowds" must stop. The rules should be the same for all players. But since the days of Judd and his eye gouging and "pressure points", it's been entrenched that's there's one rule for the "stars" and another for the Tommy Buggs.

  10. Geez, Joel Selwood’s a dirty player. He’ll get off with a fine but I think the penalty should be harsher. There’s no question of intent vs lack of intent. It’s 100% intentional and it’s dirty, underhanded tactics that we don’t need to see. And I don’t think it’s a good thing for little kids who play footy to see. They emulate their heroes, and like it or not (for me it’s a not) he is a hero to lil Cats fans.

  13. Not unless we improve our general goal kicking accuracy. Our mids and small forwards are mostly putrid especially with set shots for goal. At the moment, aside from T-Mac, Fritschkrieg, BBB and Lingers (on the odd occasion he gets a shot) most can't hit the broadside of a barn. The mids and defence have been clicking super well in most matches so far this season yet we have struggled to put away most teams, including the cellar dwellers, and have lost to two bottom four clubs so far. We simply don't convert enough of the opportunities we make into goals. It's our biggest weakness by a country mile and most opps are aware of it hence they play their guts out against us every match as they believe they're in with a chance as we rarely post big scores.

  14. I see Selwood is going to be charged for whacking Bailey Dale in the head in the first quarter last night. At least the second time this year the bogans in the seven commentary box have been sniggering about ‘ear massages’, only to watch a player get reported.

  15. I think the Suns burnt up all their hydrogen and collapsed under their own weight a few years ago but the light just hasn't reached us yet.

  16. Top of the table clash, you'd think we'd have the best umpires and the game on in primetime. Disappointing

  17. For me, there's some admiration for where Richmond have come from and what they've built over the past decade. Geelong just seem to get a free ride with home games, umpiring etc etc. They have an arrogant sook for a coach. I'll acknowledge their recruitment has been really good and they have rebuilt while staying competitive. Wouldn't be surprised if they're rigging the cap to do it though

  18. Lever then daylight. Leadership is not necessarily about being the best player but about having the capacity to translate vision into reality via effective communication.

  21. THE UNIVERSE: Halfway through the year your team is on top of the ladder but lost two winnable games to crap teams. Are you happy now mate? ME: Hell no who'd we lose to? I bet it's probably Adelaide and a team whose coach has just quit wtf man, this sucks!

  22. So you don't want to win the next game?

  23. What an absolute joke is theMRO. Selwood, a known sniper, gets two fines for cheap shots including an attack to the face, with potentially very serious consequences. Do we need a player to actually be blinded before this will be taken seriously? Absolutely disgusting.

  25. Major problem is that Selwood has got away with it for years - almost every match he has ever played - so it is now a 'normality' associated with his footballing and - because he plays for Geelong - the umpires never notice it. The umpires thus exhibit and seemingly encourage (at some AFL executive's pleasure) selective inattention to violations of the rules for certain clubs. Stinks, doesn't it? The AFL's piety is sickening...

  28. You’re absolutely right BBO. And, in the meantime, we have to endure putrid, irrelevant tripe. It really is ego, with the added bonus for Execs of sunning themselves whilst bathing in their own wankery. It’s a boys club. How else can you explain why and how a bull crapper like Lethlean can parachute across to the Saints.

  30. Also, after our win against the Dogs a couple of our players made mention of how he’s always yelling out instructions, encouragement etc. And this was evident in his post-match interview with Richo where he’d almost lost his voice.

  31. Logical choices Better days but I doubt it will happen. The AFL have poured so much $$ into them already, I doubt they could stand the loss of face in capitulating and admitting a huge failure. Imagine if all that money had been pumped into Tasmanian footy in the first place !

  32. The Suns are a pointless ego trip for AFL HQ. Never played finals, can't keep players, losing culture, no supporters. The outlook is grim. The NRL struggle to keep the titans viable so what makes the AFL think they can make a go of the Suns. This ends in one of two ways. The Tasmanian Suns or disbandment

  33. Lever for me. There was a point in the game against the pies where May got first hands to the ball but the pies player was paid the mark and went on to kick a goal (TERRIBLE CALL). May was filthy. I clearly lip read Lever say to May "it's just one mark". Lever knew the decision was terrible but remained composed, focused and professional. Captain material......

  37. Same!!! I hate Essendon so much more than any other side. My reverse order of hate goes like this: 1. The oldest football club in the world, the team of the red and the blue, the mighty Dees. (Daylight) 2. What I call the ‘peloton’ ie. every other side bar Melbz and Essendon. (three Lapland summers, ie. 24/7 daylight) 3. Those vile mouth-breathing, bottom-feeding drug cheats.

  43. You can’t expect the discussion to be “reasonable” when we are effectively down a player every week. That is an honest evaluation of SW’s input to the club’s performances so far. Just a blurry void where a player ought to be standing, and right in front of the goals no less.

  47. Selwood is such a prjck .... poked a guy in the eye after a mark, then stomps his shin, then smirks. 2 missed set shots will prove very costly to the Dogs

  48. The current top 8 and their average scores: Melbourne - 88.5 Bulldogs - 98.8 Geelong - 88.3 Brisbane - 93.7 Port - 87.3 Sydney - 86.3 Eagles - 90.1 Richmond - 86.9 I think the 'goal kicking power' point is being oversold and it's pretty lazy analysis by the media at the moment to be focusing on our forward line. On current averages we are ahead of Geelong (Hawkins and Cameron), Port (Dixon), Sydney (Buddy, Papley) and Richmond (Riewoldt, Lynch). We're also ahead of other 'goal kicking power' teams like Adelaide (Walker) 79.8, Carlton (Mackay) 84.7, Gold Coast (King) 71.6 and St Kilda (King) 70.6. We sit 5th in terms of average points scored. I really don't think this is a panic like it's being made out.

  49. It’s not just trolls it’s unrealistic supporters who expect us to go undefeated through the season, the same people who are irrational on game day threads and feel the sky is falling. They have written off Goodwin, Spargo, Kossie, Nibbler, Tmac, May, Viney, Lever, Jason Taylor and still not put their hands up. For these posters when we win it’s all down to Choco and Yze but Monday was all down to Goodwin
