11-2 a great result. It's a very tough competition. The best sides usually go around 17 or 18 wins in a season max, and that still doesn't guarantee a flag. We are building towards something pretty special and there will be bumps in the road. There are common themes to our two defeats so we have the opportunity to address those chinks in the armour over the break. Most of our better players struggled a bit today, and we were definitely flat but Viney and Brown will be back and I really do think Melksham's creativity is important for us. A key reason I hate losing: a couple of stand-out posters have, like clockwork, shown up on here, having been largely unsighted for most of the season to date.

Things are never as good or as bad as they seem. We looked flat and they were expectedly up and about. Rather than our midfield leaders fixing it with brilliant basics and hard defensive work they attempted to play millionaire footy. Review that hard and call out everything that was wrong and then reset for a big second half of the season. Call out to Jackson who was immense. Look forward to seeing Benny Brown get a good run at it after the bye.

Also I never want us to play at the SCG again outside of away games vs Sydney.

This sort of stuff is unacceptable. Have a bit of a think about it, and tell us all if you really think making that kind of personal judgement about a footballer at the highest level, who is undeniably valued by his peers but who you DON’T know, is either fair or justified. Just garbage.

It’s hard not to be too reactive about this game, but in the cold hard light of day, that game was very instructive. We talk about culture a lot, and how it underpins the best teams, the premiership teams. I really hate to say it, but with all their board problems, list disasters, resigning coach and media hammering about them being a shambles, from 16th on the ladder against the ‘supposed’ premiership favourites, Collingwood have shown that they have something we don’t. At least at the moment. These are the games you win, for obvious ladder position reasons, but to show we ARE the real deal when outside distractions and expectation loads up. We kicked 9 goals. Based on today, in respect purely to premiership chances, we might just be pretenders. And I hate to say it even more, but it’s a very familiar tag and the reason this team don’t deserve our trust. Yet! They won’t have mine for the rest of the year. So much yet to earn.

Except based on that performance they locked him out.

The only thing worse than a loss is when other supporters dump on supporters for dumping on the team. It’s a footy forum. If you don’t want to hear opposing opinions you should head to the China forum.

I think when you know what we are capable of and then watch us turn up and play like trash for 4 straight quarters you can’t help but feel cheated. Games will be lost. But it’s how you lose games and the sort of games you lose. We don’t seem to ever learn. We’ve missed out on finals before losing games we were expected to win and frankly this is no difference. To drop these games is so costly in such a tight competition and can well be the difference between a flag or bust.

We are surely the only supporter base in the country who on game day discuss what we are eating and drinking and it’s not VB and a servo pie, but smoked meat and aged whiskey and salad and cheese ?

My tip? We smash them by 50 plus points. We will bring the full heat today and give some of their younguns a right fright. And their two best mids, pendles (did you know he has a basketball background - so much time) and number 22 are slow as so will get caught all day. Pies will surely look to attack like they did last week given its buck's last game. If they do our pressure will cause them to turn it over all day. If they go slow we will press up and cause turnovers in our front half. Gawn will have a field day and our three big 3 defenders will love the lack of pies height. Smashing coming up.

We’re coming off the back of 2 excellent performances so confidence is sky high. We coasted for a few rounds before that but I don’t want to see us coast today.
