I didn't go but have been told snippets of info. Like I posted earlier Maynard had very quick and clean hands in the match simulation they were doing. Jordan Lewis very big on directing players how to create space. Was ordering Oliver to keep running to create space in the match simulation. Were a couple of other examples about it that I have forgotten but the message I got was Lewis (and Macca) both yelling at people to keep running to create space. Hunt's burst away pace was scintillating but we all knew this.

I can give a perspective of someone who has lived in Adelaide his whole life if it adds to the conversation. Goody was always an amazing player but at the same time unassuming. He would never really tear a game to shreads nor did he have the talent of a Roo/McLeod. What he did do was mix what talent he had with genuine intelligence and hard work. He shouldn't be remembered as a superstar because he never was, but he was like a utility version of a Corey Enright. Maybe not as good as Enright but nearly as effective off a half back or a wing. Had this awkward style that just got the job done. What really encourages me is that he has always had a reputation as a great people person. His teammates loved him, his coaches loved him, his supporters loved him, his superiors when he was an assistant loved him. I believe with his people skills, knowledge of the game and ability to bring people together, he could very well be a more game savvy version of Daniher with a more talented list. I'm even more confident now with our coach than I was when Roos took over and he ended up doing exactly what he promised. I know people who are friends or acquantices with him and I'm very confident that we are in good hands.

Stuie, while I did question your source, it was more pointing out that it was part of a chain of events that went from a general rumour (which may in fact be true), to Kent having another hamstring related injury. Just highlighting how a rumour can get twisted so much, so quickly, with so little solid information. That is the worst description of a back related Hamstring that I have ever heard. The only thing you got right is "pressure.... of the nerve.....you feel hamstring pain when really there is nothing wrong with the hamstring" The rest is absolute nonsense. "Vertebrate shift"? What is that? Is it a animal with a backbone moving? Disc pathology, ligament inflammation or compression, muscle derangement all possible causes of neural compression. You can decide if I'm qualified or not.

Back related hammies refer to a slight vertebrate shift causing pressure or a pinching of the nerve, Then you feel hamstring pain when really there is nothing wrong with the hamstring. Some thing a Chiro could easily fix. but then you have to fix the vertebrate muscles or find out what caused the vertebrate shift.

Yes, strange place. I was born there, fled when I was two. Then my parents thought they were going back but forgot about the difference a consonant and a vowel or two makes. Ended up among the Scotch thistled paddocks and outside dunnies of North Sunshine ( So we're back in Scatland.) I've never recovered.

I think hammies can be back related but I'm not sure backs can be hammy related if that makes sense. This back injury could be a blessing in disguise as they might be forced to fix his core for good and then prevent any future hamstring problems. If it becomes an ongoing problem that's a concern, but I'd take him missing a few weeks to start the year now over doing a hammy mid season. Fixing the back/core to prevent hamstrings is hopefully what they've done with JKH over the break. For such a quick and physical player Kent's forward pressure/tackling is quite bad as well so maybe a bit more time with core strength and agility could help him as well.

To anyone who goes down today can i please can an update on Weideman is going? Hate to really put pressure on the kid but really hope he steps it up and plays 12-16. The Weideman Hogan is so important in the coming years for us to become a genuine premiership threat.

Whilst I have never seen Salvatore the Yarra seal, Johnathen L. Seagull will be easily recognisable at Gosch's. Look for the bird out on its own that doesn't seem to fit in with other Seagulls.

And look where it got them. Dom Tyson He’s really come on again. His running, his understanding of the game and where he positions himself – he’s become pretty close to an elite, first possession player. He’s very good around the ball and distributes it well. I think you’re going to see an incredible young player emerge in the next one to two years. Dom had an unfortunate setback just before Christmas, but he’s attacking his rehab in the same intensity as his pre-season. Bloody hell. This is a wrap.

I agree with you 'willmoy'...I love that he's back fit & well but surely he doesn't need the weight of the captaincy at this time of his life. It's going to be enough to survive the battle for a start and to play is a bonus. The captaincy, whilst it carries an emotional edge for him and his teammates may be asking a bit too much.

It's his first full preseason at the Dees. Every other year he's missed a chunk of early training. He should bounce back to his best in 2017.

Winning multiple B&F as a midfielder when Mark Ricciuto and Andrew McLeod are running around in the same team for your whole career, that's impressive! I hope Dom Tyson is taking notes.

Love that Lewis is teaching the players how to kick better (and while we knew we needed it, its still a bit startling to hear it from a player). Lewis seems a humble guy with no airs and graces which (could have come from his 4 premiership medals). McDonald says: "He picks his places when he wants to talk, he doesn't want to be overbearing and feel like he's pushing himself on to other guys..." Can't wait to see him as an on-field general (along with Jones) marshalling the troops. I can see Lewis being the one who looks for potential momentum changes, has a quick word to Jonesy and nipping them in the bud - the lack of which cost us a few games last year. I can also see him keeping the players to structures and playing to team rules; again something we fell down on last year. Lewis and Jones will make a fine pair of generals, along with their apostles, Maxy and Viney For years we have yearned for a playing coach and to think that Lewis literally just fell into our lap!

The mostly blue polo shirts look so much better than the red ones. I hope we never go back to the red.
