  2. I am staggered that anyone listening to Schwarta cant feel the love he has for the Club. Didn't he get into a fisty cuff with someone (I think a guest - unsure) at the station over comments made against Melbourne. He also talks about how he used to fight with Karen during the Scully saga. I love Schwarta's open passion for his Club and I love that he calls a spade a spade and is willing to criticize as well. To me his very fair minded. That is not what I would call GH. At the B&F the response to Jones naming GH as one of his mentors was somewhat lukewarm. It was embarassing and I thought pretty thick skinned for him to be there so soon after the interview that eventually dumped us in it. Listening to him some nights he doesn't strike me as having much enthusiasm for the Club at all,. I would have thought with all the sniping that WR fires our way he would have tried to inject a little more balance into the show.

  4. So it was your fault that Barassi rode him. Too much time searching for the ultimate wave with you . Shame .Dee-luded. Shame.

  5. If this rumour proves to be true I bet some here will still blame Cam Schwab...

  6. interesting that at the next AGM no-one is standing against the incumbents for re-election and that after one of the worst years on record in some ways maybe they just prefer sniping and chinese whispers to putting it out there

  8. I know nothing about this but hope it's true and we can get the deal done and approved by the AFL. The sad thing is that the realities of the politics surrounding the MFC means that some of the people most upset by this will be those who claim to be supporters of the club.

  9. I played a couple of seasons with the Laharum Demons in western Victoria. I personally think they have one of the most picturesque grounds around. The backdrop is the Grampians, but gee it gets cold there when you're training on a Thursday night in winter.

  10. I would add unity to that too. We need to be more "one eyed" I believe and stick together while sticking up for our club. Rage and unity. Has a nice ring to it.

  12. I think there may have been some bad feeling between Gerard Healy and the MCC. A few years ago at one of those pre-season MCC luncheon's Healy (who was a panelist on the day) mentioned that his application for MCC membership had been rejected by the MCC committee after he left the Dee's and it was only now (around the time of the lunch) that he had gained MCC membership! I also remember him, during his time commentating at a Melbourne match being very unhappy with some of the abuse being thrown at his brother ( playing for Melbourne) by Dee supporters. I doubt G Healy has much time for us at all!

  13. I knew Gerard decades back, & IMO he's not a vindictive person, or wasn't. Schwartz was said to be a hawk supporter & disliked us. I find this wrong, especially now. He may have been indifferent for a period of time to us, but maybe that was more about Daniher than the club, & maybe the admin of the time? Re Gerard, he fell out with Barassi, as Barass was trying to drive him to higher things as he was just coasting. Barass really rode him & he rebelled. He went to the Swans where he responded better to Hafey's carrot approach, & possibly less expectations from the sydney public. He may still have some "hurt" from his Demon days, but that doesn't mean underneath he doesn't love the club. Maybe he just can't let it show atmo. And maybe he feels shunned by some Demon supporters? We once drove across the state in my Van.

  15. Best wishes to all Demonlanders and all fellow demons, and especially to those who run the site. Great job! I propose we launch a tradition of adding a verse to the club song for each premiership from now on (and here's hoping that soon our song will take ages to sing ) I like the sound of the following: Oh, the team were keen back in 2013, We had winners on all of our lines, And we held up the premiership cup, Dedicated to Jimmy Stynes, Every heart beats true for the red and the blue, As we sing this song to you (whadda we sing?) Should auld acquaintance be forgot, Keep your eye on the red and the blue.

  16. Because it has not gone pear shaped yet. My point is *should* things go bad, why should the other teams not be subjected to the same trial-by-media? If we are charged then the hard questions should be asked of others too.

  17. if Gerry boy had any love for the Dees it's long passed.I only ever detect veiled contempt. I too think he's a Swannie through and through these days. That in itself I have no problem with, each to their own but I expect a more balanced perspective from professional commentators. He lacks this.

  18. Brock McLean will ask for a trade back to melbourne if the chocolates sponsor us. He doesn't realise that if he does come back a rat poison company will sponsor us as well.

  19. Now BBO, we're all following the same side here. Although judging by your inferences and bio pic, I'm thinking maybe only in terms of football. Not that there's anything wrong with that........

  20. I wouldn't put Gerard Healy on the same planet as me, when you compare supporting the Dees. I personally don't think he cares less about them. Reckon he is a Swans fan.

  26. I am not wanting to be a politician - but I'll give my view on their performance. I do not want to run a company, but if I'm a shareholder I'll voice my views. Just because I doubt the board and question their behaviour, but I won't run against them, does not mean I should just accept whatever they dish up. I'd have thought that there is a big difference between criticising someone's performance and then saying that you can personally do better. Heaven's, no one would say a thing about footy if that were the case. Let's hope the footy starts soon.

  30. Match fixing...hmm When this debacle is over, dusted and done Id like to see the club go back and find little gems like this and sue the lilly white arse off of douches like Barrett. These worms need to be brought to task for such cavalier throw aways and made to realise like any other mortal, ; you put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard you better be bloody well prepared to stand by it.
