Will be back in Phuket with the brother in early April. Will probably make the trip to Phi Phi to visit the resting place, as we did last time we were there. Hoping the site is better cared for than it was back then. R.I.P Troy. Although the comments get fewer each year, you are still remembered, even if some of us don't say anything. I hope Troys family are ok at this time, and remember the good times.7 points

I was a trident member this year and still weighing up the cost. To be honest, I love going to games, but my daughter who I was going with, isn't interested in footy anymore. I took her to the guard of honor for the Port game and she loved it, though that this might have got her hooked on the club. I was severely underwhelmed by the clubs response when I tried to chase the photos that the club took on the day. Still yet to receive them after sending countless emails, no one responds. Admin side of the club and member engagement is poor. Particularly compared to what other clubs do. Feel as members we are often taken for granted, Richmond are a great example of how to grow a membership base during periods of poor performance.4 points

Price, while important, is a consideration. But as good as AFL is on TV (and in my view it is one of the best sports for TV viewing), it's still not as good as being at the ground. Emotional investment increases when actually at the game and you can also see much more tactically than the limitations of TV can allow.3 points

It would surprise me... If there are no charges then there is nothing the club should or needs to do, creative or otherwise. Move on...3 points

Well the Toyota brand that sponsors the Crows is the Toyota line of cars, not the Toyota that's the paent company of Lexus. There's a difference. While Lexus is a division of Toyota, it's its own brand and line, with its own board, branding and marketing. The audience for a Toyota is different than that of a Lexus. I think a lot of people here are making the mistake of seeing Toyota and Lexus as one in the same, which they're not. You have Toyota the corporation, then the Toyota line and the Lexus line. I don't think there's any sort of market cannibialisation there. Besides, Lexus has lent its name to Collingwood in the past.3 points

Gee can’t believe it was 13 years. Still remember that feeling when he was reported missing. Just thought he would show up as he would have survived as he was fit etc. just proves we are not bullet proof and life can be taken in a blink of an eye. Really puts life into perspective.3 points

A tremendous loss for us all. He was a very rapidly developing player with some silky natural skills when, in his moment of glory, was taken. I hope the club can make some appropriate statement on his memory and behalf; he was certainly an impressive young man who happened to also be a very talented footballer. RIP3 points

As Deemania said above, Troy was a quickly developing player who at the time I thought would definitely make it. Still clearly remember the memorial match at the G. Teams united and the game played accordingly. Just the way Troy would have wanted it.2 points

Amen to that faultydet, I can't believe that 13 years have passed since the shock and horror of that Tsunami, we had a good one in Troy. A real tragedy for all of us MFC supporters, his friends and family. Our hearts go out to them.2 points

well they didn't with milne. iirc. but i suppose that was quite some time ago and things have changed. still, they would need to have some good info/facts to do that and go public2 points

I’m going - and soon! Just bought premium seats at the Camp Nou for Barca v Levante on the 7th, and the same for Spurs v the Toffees 6 days later at Wembley, with a pre-game function, drinks etc. Pretty pumped, as I’ve dreamt about these stadia since I was a kid (albeit Wembley’s been totally refurbed since then, much like the ‘G). Hopefully Harry Kane can keep scoring hat-tricks for a few more weeks yet..1 point

An increase of a minute fraction of one hundredth of a per cent in CFCs increased the ozone hole over Antarctica. It only takes 2-3 parts per million of chlorine to disinfect a swimming pool. Some toxic substances at .001 per cent will kill you. Arguments about "small percentages" are spurious. ProDee, when 80% of Australians believe more needs to be done about climate change, the world's largest mining company (BHP) is threatening to leaving the Mineral Council because of lack of climate change policy, and other large companies like Wesfarmers are getting out of coal to avoid future stranded assets, do you feel like you're winning anything? Are the captains of industry deluded? I would imagine they're fairly clever. What are you doing spending all your time here gish galloping in a pointless forum seen by a handful of people? Shouldn't you be out proselytising to the world with your apparent "truth" that wil save the world wasting vast sums of money?1 point

Subaru would be a good get. Like the three game membership perhaps we could use that particular model as a 2 game sponsor for our " Home Games" out there.1 point

First, I want to join the chorus of all those wishing fellow Demonlanders a safe and enjoyable festive season, and a prosperous 2018 for our beloved football team. Like many around here, I find it hard to resist the feeling that we are headed for good places in 2018, but I know only too well the bitter disappointments that this team can deliver, year, upon year, upon year. I'm doing my best to temper my excitement with a dash of realism, but it ain't easy! Second, I want to thank the owners and 'managers' of Demonland for taking this wonderful site to new levels in 2017. Outstanding work folks! And a special thanks for the hard yakka and vigillence that has been involved in keeping some of the more difficult recent threads on the straight and narrow. Greatly appreciated! Go Dees!1 point

Take your own advice. It boggles the mind that someone who enjoys what Demonland offers, free of charge if you wish, would be critical of the owner having the audacity to take precautionary measures against any possible legal action or its potential closure. When you run your own footy forum, you can opt to be a lot looser on the naming of names in a matter such as this1 point

I look back at some of the things Bomber Thompson tried and then said when the Cats became a dominant team. I think it went along the lines " I stepped back once the Leadership Group started leading, they drove the standards they set the agenda". This is not the non leaders group from years ago. I have no problem with them stepping up and saying "No" to something they don't agree with. The proof will be in how much they "drive" the season. If Goodwin has a Messiah complex he will fail, if the "players" drive the season it will be a great thing IMHO. I cannot fathom how the current player group has not got the drive to go all the way and on that basis if they have said no to something, I think they need to be supported.1 point

Came across this youtube compilation today entitled top UK 100 of the '70's. It features 10 second clips of each song and only goes for 15 minutes or so. Worth watching for some of the clips alone let alone the costumes PS and who are number '74 above1 point

I agree, but that's not my point. The AFL may want the "victim" to see that it has provided some form of justice, and that would not surprise me one bit.0 points
