We all jump on this site and give our opinions, but today 23,000 people attended a game between two Victorian clubs, IMO 75% North Melbourne supporters so I would love to know which posters on this site attend todays game. Because if you didn't you let the club down just as much as the players.

I was there! Not good when you're trying to impress a new girlfriend.

There were 3 deaf boys in front of us decked out in Demon gear. They belted the shizenhausen out of each other for two and a half hours

Even the catering contractors knew it would be a miserable turnout.

Several outlets were closed up in the northern stand.

They used to do that when we played Freo in the middle of winter.

our group of 5 were there. Level 2 Ponsford stand, above the cheersquad, infront of our non players.... who did not looked happy to be there watching the game. Must wonder what they have to do to get back into the game

Yep i was there. Was painful but i will be back next week. Going with a bunch of blues supporters, should be interesting.

Our kickouts were attrocious and continue to be. No one was leading or giving the kicker an option, it was hard to watch.

My daughter was busy and my son can't get to Saturday games.

We will be four strong next week, me, my daughter, my son and his girlfriend.

Another sucker for punishment, was there on saturday and will be again for the game agaist the tankers.

Now is the time the club needs support. With good times comes bad times and if we fail to support the Demons during this bad time it may not last long enough for us to enjoy another good time.

Hey, while I understand exactly what you are trying to say, its a pretty sweeping statement to say that those who didn't get to the NM game on Saturday let the club down. My wife and I live in Canberra, we are fully paid members and have been for many years (Platinum in my case). We attended the Family Day, and the Hawthorn game, and will attend several more matches during the season, including our birthday / 'red and blue army' celebration on the Queen's Birthday weekend. We also happen know several other Mfc members who live in Canberra, and are every bit as passionate as you, but for obvious reasons can't get to every game. Sorry to be so sensitive about this one, but I see red when anybody questions my support for the mighty Demons.

No doubt you are a better supporter than many.

Clearly there are many Melbourne members and supporters not going to games because it is not delivering them an enjoyable experience. We expect players to turn up, get it right, peform, gut it out but it is obvious by our crowds that many haven't got the ticker themselves.

i was there as usual, went the first couple of weeks by myself. aim to get to 14-15 games each year and normally watch the others on telly or on repeat if i cant get out of work etc

3. So many MCC members need to learn the holding the ball rule. Yes, we should have got a free when Grant missed his kick in his own goal square, but it's not holding the ball every time a North player gets tackled. I'm pretty sure 0.0000000001 of a second ISN'T prior opportunity.

i feel the need to point out to you that prior opportunity is not required for the umpires to make a holding the ball decision.

if the player HAS had prior opportunity, then as soon as he is tackled and retarded it is holding the ball.

if the player HAS NOT had prior opportunity, then once tackled and retarded, the player must dispose of the ball immediately otherwise it is holding the ball.

The exceptions to this rule are when the player with the ball is infringed (ie in the back), the ball is knocked free in the tackle, or the ball is pinned to the player.

if during ANY tackle the player with the ball disposes of it incorrectly (ie simply drops it, lets go of it, fails in an attempt to kick or handball, places it on the ground, hands it to another player, or bounces the footy) then it is also a free kick for illegal disposal such as a throw.

I have to put my hand up and fess up,I didn't attend because I have another life and I also live at the far end of the Mornington Peninsula and I really couldn't work up the enthusiasm to drive all that way for the dross they are serving up right now. I am getting on in years and I don't want to waste days being more miserable than usual!!!!!!!!! So sorry can't take the stress. Stress can kill you!!!

All 5 of us were there and were in the MCC area behind the players race and were there encouraging the players as usual.

We will be there next week as willl be for all our home games at least (except if late coming from my boys own games which are also oin Sunday). Will be in reserved seats area in Northern stand.

For those saying they wont go next week please reconsider as the MFC needs us all to go to our home games more than ever! Not saying the Admin deserves our support BUT is one way we can really support the club.

We have 9 more home games at the G and the ones against the Blues and Freo are vital in terms of the MFC financial performance for 2008! best to miss the non home games. Also the last thing MFC needs is have the number of games we play at the G under threat due to low attandances as the outcome will be more games at Manuka (or further North!)

What Bailey and the MFC need to understand is, whilst Bailey's game plan may eventually pay off, if we have to go through 15+ thrashings a year, there won't be too many people signing up or attending games. Are the MFC and more importantly Bailey & co. willing to risk it all for a game plan that a rookie coach thinks will work? They won't only be risking the loss of games, they will risk losing a lot of supporters too.

Not to single you out Damien, but how did you know the game would turn out bad? The point I make is that we would not want the players driving into the 'G' with that attitude. The last game I truly enjoyed was round 10 last year when we beat Adelaide after we were expected to easily beaten.

BTW, I know what you mean about stress, but I have enough of that in everything else in my life. I am able (somehow) to go to the football and just let it unfold before me knowing there is stuff all I can do to influence the result except cheer and boo, which is a waste of time at home!

I was there, and left early again.

We have implemented a new 2008 rule that we don't leave early UNLESS we are losing by more than 50 points just after 3/4 time because, let's face it, no big comebacks are going to happen from there from our side.

Perhaps it seems weak but at this point, just like the players, I don't really care.

I was there and for the 3rd time this season left at 3/4 time in disgust. Even copped a spray from a fellow member for ripping into them all day saying I should support them more while she golf clapped when we kicked a goal and didn't say a word before and after she gave me the spray I was waiting for her to say go number 2 but I didn't even hear that. It didn't stop me I'm never gonna support crap. I want results and until that happens they will always cop it. I will cop the Geelong loss but I refuse to except the other 3 disgraceful performances.

I was sitting in the olympic stand and did anyone happen to notice that the players run flat-chat to the interchange, it's the hardest they run at anything, it's as if they can't wait to get off!!!!

Would anyone agree with that?
