Just wondering if anyone else thought similar to me on Chris Judds comments on the Footy show last night, when probed about the tanking he said it was before his time blah blah blah then made a comment like "at least I guess we haven't had players getting arrested" surely he was not having a crack at us...

Posted

nah he was talking about Cousins etc..

I found out it funny at the end when garry lyon said " You have no idea how much it kills me to see you talk to us when you are infront of the MCG as a carlton player, Could of been the Dees" And Judd just smirked like the weed he is

Judd was talking about how tanking became an issue again because no AFL player was getting arrested for the media to report on.

Basically saying tanking was a media-induced beat up.

The AFL brought tanking up by going after Roos so hard, not the media, but anyway...

he must be proud of himself coming to a melbourne club to pursue business interested because Dick Pratt could help out and to be at a successful club etc - now define success a team that deliberately loses to gain an unfair advantage the following season? some may see that as success, turns out Dick Pratt is a crook and been ripping blokes of for year and Judd just goes and starts up a croc'o'shiat company that anyone with a profile could get going, certainly wouldnt need much help with that! tossa.

Why come to Melbourne? We have little to no profile at the moment.

Because 6 months ago Carlton was having similar profile issues.

Judd would have made all the difference and there is absolutely no doubt about that at all.

No. Carlton were worse. But they have Dick Pratt bankrolling the Club, they had arguably one of the most astute CEOs available in the business appointed. However Carlton are not out of the woods.

Judd would have helped MFC but he is not pencillin to all our other problems.

Given Melbourne's preseason Judd probably thinks his decision not to join us is vindicated, which makes me angry, not at Judd but at our club.

Gouga, I dont think Judd was ever going to join us from the start. Any alleged interest was a cover for the true intention...chasing the $$$ at Carlton. Save your anger.

If our smug friends at Carlton aren't successful in the next couple of years just watch them turn on Judd and Pratt.

Gotta love Friday evening...one of the best times for reading and responding. Especially if it's a night in.

Judd was never a happening thing for us. Top presentation by the Board and assorted luminaries nonetheless according to all reports. But whisk him off to Leighoak for fish-fingers and prawn cocktails with thousand island dressing was never going to compete with...

the pomp and circumstance of Raheen with cartel king Pratt holding court in glittering surroundings with a quiet word that your future is assured if you play for us.

We simply couldn't compete and, like each of us, Judd would like to secure his future which he's done in spades.

I don't bear him any ill-will. He made his choice. Get over it.

Where's the proof?

U like pulling up people for going on popular opinions without knowing the true facts. Do you know for fact Judd's interests was only a cover?

I do and I can understand why plenty of other Dees fans do as well. He chose Carlton over us... He chose the bad guys over the good guys. Financially it maybe the right thing to do... but Karma's a [censored]. We'll know by about rd 4 whether they chose the right surgery.

I spoke to a major sponsor who said he had been told by a Carlton Board Member, mid last year, Judd was definitely going there this year.

In that case I'll re-direct my anger to the fact Judd miss led us Melbourne (not to mention Collingwood and Essendon) supporters. If he was always going to Carlton why wasn't it a simple matter of asking for a trade to Carlton from the start?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
