Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Brock's Trip to Hell

Rhino spends all day fighting on the Boards but he's concerned that Brock was in a fight.

Indeed.

Look I'm more concerned about the way he played when he came back from injury.

That trying to break every tackle [censored] looked like he believed his own publicity.

Good point.

Thats the main thing. So what if he got in a fight with some guys in Europe (one last point I don't know how you can difuse a situation when you don't speak the same language plus they a 6 foot Aussie blokes, always a target.)

The fact of the matter is his form was terrible and god knows how he finished 8th in best and fairest he got caught in the Essendon game in the goal square.

Against the pies in Neita's 300th he got caught holding the ball 3 times by DALE THOMAS.

I never threw a punch your honour and was provoked by a Swedish backpacker called Sven! :P

Old you are right about the way he played in 2007.

Lets hope he is more effective next year.

He did that against the saints in round 1.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think he got his injury trying to break through a tackle.

IMO i saw Brock as trying too hard to lead by example. Breaking tackles, being the inspiration etc etc.

He was trying to do too much. Trust your team mates, Brock.

In the article he talks about the lack of match fitness, which after missing so much footy, he just couldn't regain.

For a midfielder who is not particularly quick, that would result in playing poorly.

i knew of brock as a teenager, he's a few years younger, but i know a large number of his younger childhood mates growing up in the essendon/keilor ditrict...........he got in2 a bit of mischeif, broke in2 a have cars, got in2 a few fights and probably had he occasional j............then he got to about 15/16 and really changed his ways..........whilst still admired and respected by those 'hoodlum-ish' mates, he stopped doin dumb stuff and hanging out with them, focusing on his footy from that time on, and is considered to be still loyal to tme in that if he runs in2 them he is very nice, has a chat etc, but he was mature enuf back at 16 to see he was headed the wrong way and drastically changed...........i beleive he would b a very loyal teammate and stick up for people, with this background he certainly wouldnt b scared of a bar fight, but i doubt highly he aggrevated these situations...........mor likely carroll did, with his rep as a bit of a lout and a boozer...........but regardless, big guys with moes and haircuts like carroll always have targets on their backs for drunk blokes desperate to prove their manhood, and thats tru anywhere in the world........i bet anything it was probably 2 unlucky cases of carroll being suspected of being all appearance and no stubstance on the toughness front by a bunch o drunks who were out to prove hemselves to the world, and brock just stood up for his mate........end of story, who gives a.........

If thats the case, Brock should stay the hell away from Carroll the next time they go out boozing.

I disagree with Brock's philosphies on fighting. That said, sometimes it is impossible to walk away, no matter how hard you try.

Once is happenstance

Twice is coincidence

Thrice is a habit.

Luckily the 2007 MFC Euro-Bogan Tour ended when it did.

I'm not sure why Carroll's name is being dragged through the mud and McLean is considered the innocent. And where is Rivers in all of this?

Because Carroll looks like a bogan, and isn't as integral to the team as McLean. They're the only reasons. I strongly agree with you on this point; there's some sheer hypocracy going on. We should be presuming that Carroll and McLean were just as innocent or guilty as each other given the lack of evidence to the contrary.

I don't think Rivers was present for the second incident, which is why he has not been named.

Brock has learned his lesson well and taken more support with him on the Chinese leg of the tour.

Just hope they don't run into any female swimmers!!

From McLean's description, the first incident sounds like it could have been defused if some different decisions had been made:

McLean said the trouble in Ios started when a patron unleashed a verbal attack on a friend.

"A bloke (was) being rude with someone I was with and having a go at them for no reason," McLean said.

"We sort of stood up for ourselves and it escalated from there."

Sticks and stones..? I don't particularly care too much, but this doesn't sound like an incident where someone just wanted to fight them and was going to take a shot regardless.

Maybe the second incident was always going to lead to a physical confrontation:

In Munich, McLean said he and Carroll were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"The guy in Germany was just a drunken tourist who was hell-bent on fighting someone," McLean said. "No one was seriously injured, it was just a little bit of a scuffle."

let's get over the whole brock thing and think about what is happening now...let's be honesses, he probably made a couple of bad decisions but he is human...neitz is one of the greatest captains this club has ever had and look at some of the stuff he did at crown.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
